No belt on a near 900 pound squat is actually insane.
it actually is
Mann I'd really have like to see 2017 Eddie doing a powerliftin competition. His total could've landed at between 2400-2500 easily.
He had no grip though unfortunately and probably would have topped the deadlift out at 700
Probably will challenge hafthor after he completes his powerlifting competition 😂
@@joebot9309 he hit an 800 raw deadlift in 2013
@@joebot9309 No grip ? What do you mean. Half of all strongman events are about grip. Just because he hit the DL WR in straps doesn't mean he lacks grip.
@@joebot9309 World Strongest Man had no grip 😂what next he wasnt even strong
There is footage of him doing 365kg for 8 reps. And making it look easy. That’s surely one of the greatest squat records of all time. I don’t think people realise how ridiculous that is.
345kg*
@@greigite5191 different video. Search for it. I think it's only on his Facebook. I saw it on Barbend or something like that years ago.
@@greigite5191 no, he did 365 on SSB completely raw.
@@lilbignutt1917 no
Theres no footage but Big Z told Martins Licis in one of Martins’ videos that one time he squatted 400 kg for 8 or something absurd.. have no reason to doubt Z either
I personally believe that had Eddie decided to focus on powerlifting at his peak in 2016-2017 that he would still hold the world record total in sleeves. I fully believe he could have achieved a 430kg squat, 300kg bench, and 420kg deadlift.
He had no grip.
I think he could have squatted more than 430. In his videos he's using a wobbly bar, no sleeves, no belt, deep squat with walk out. I think he had 450 in him
He has even bench 300 already. I think he's done 6 plates for like 6 on an elephant before too.
@@joebot9309 He did though
@@joebot9309 Compared to his fellow competitors, yes. But so did Thor, for the longest time and he almost locked out 430.
I really think peak Eddie was the strongest static lifter ever.
Unfortunately he never competed, but I'm sure you could broken the WR.
I've been saying this for years, it's crazy how unbelievably strong he was
Maybe the best whole package, Zydrunas in his Prime was a better Squatter and a better presseer while Thor was a Better Squatter and deadlifter. But Eddie had al there even though we Will never know what his Best Squat was, speculation though points to numbers like Z and Thor, but never happend
strongest static lifter ever is Hafthor.
@@alec_m50
Not a chance
In terms of static strength, Glenn Ross has to be part of the conversation, no?
Eddie was arguably the best squatter, the best overhead presser and the best deadlifter. His static strength is possibly the best ever
In pure static strentgh Eddie is probably the strongest ever, it’s either him or Zydrunas.
who is zydrunas
@@Nitrixxxx boy aint no way boy
@@Nitrixxxx what not just put "Zydrunas Lifting" in a search engine?
I agree Eddie is first but can't leave Benni out of that list
@@Nitrixxxx lol qui est zydrunas ^^
Eddie to his son
- Back in my days I squatted 405
- What? My bench is close to ...
- Kilos, 405 Kilos
He did 716lbs for 15 reps when he won WSM in 2017.
It was Z who did it for 15
@@Thatsciencedude324 Zydrunas was injured and washed up by that point. He did not get 15 that year.
@@Thatsciencedude324 ua-cam.com/video/DOQfU9Ws_PE/v-deo.html
The pause at the end as well... Woah, perhaps some of the most powerful squat set I've ever seen.
Max Eddie was just literally a beast. Super unhealthy for him, but man I miss watching him perform like that!
take it with grain of salt but Eddie hall also said he could box too
wish he filmed it, would've been a spectacle, his form is just class
Eddie should be breaking Daniel Bell’s record 😂 Eddie v Thor powerlifting meet needs to be a thing
He will not beat Thor.
0:42 he was like WOW , i dont even know how much is that, is that supposed to be impressive ?
It's Jesse James West. Pretty much the cringiest clout chaser currently on social media.
I mean, he is good at it tho. Make yo money, man
He used a 8 foot wobbly bar aswell
I thought he’d throw out some bullshit number like 480kg or something but 405kg? Definitely and I could see it being totally raw too considering how good he did with 345 for reps.
Would be interesting to know what he could have done with wraps and a belt
@@RoadTo340kg Thor did a 460 squat in competition but it was dissallowed. I think Eddie could match if not beat that because he was always a better squatter than Thor.
@@ngardnerPV i honestly think eddie could do more
@@ngardnerPV I think in general Eddie is or was just a stronger guy than Thor.
@@dotdotdot7440 yeah but I was just talking specifically about the squat
Very rarely do you see such a huge man look so comfortable in the squat AND the deadlift, usually people that have Eddies build have a hard time with the deadlift, but perhaps Eddie would have had the same problem is he wasn't using straps back then
AND bench
What shot you talking. Most record holders have this build
Paul Anderson was a huge man, he was a good squatter???
The thing is Eddie was so overpowered his deadlift was still strong enough for a world record
Straps don’t make you stronger you can take any powerlifter pulling 900+ raw they can’t touch 1100 strongman deadlift
When people say stuff like this (no sleeves, no belt etc.) , 99% it’s BS, but I completely believe this, prime Eddie was a BEAST!
It's BS.
:D
I wish he did a powerlifting meet in his prime, even his bench press was insane while not even really training it for max attempts. Truly one of the strongest men to ever grace the planet.
760x7 totally unequipped with that ROM is absolutely insane. I have no doubt he hit 893 for a single. A stiffer bar probably has him hitting 900lb
he'd be an equiped powerlifter beast.
maybe, throwing on a modern suit could get him a ton of weight, but learning how to use the suit is quite the challenge, and the training is very different. I dont know if he could do great things in that field against the competiition
Eddie to Jessie before the question: "- Thor is going for the world PL record. Ask me about my max squat, I just have to best him".
Eddie is super impressive, I just don't like that he ALWAYS has something bad to say about Thor. Always trying to put him down.
well that all started when thor acted like a complete ahole when eddy beat him to win WSM.
He won the squat event at WSM against Thor and Shaw so I'd imagine his best would be 420-440 going by Thor almost getting 460
Big haus!!! Love his code and ethics . Train, train hard , train like a fucking beast
That's exactly when I watched
I would have rather watched a Thor vs Eddie powerlifting competition than a boxing match. They could have potentially both broken the world record total if they did that instead.
Just raw strength. Huge gut but imagine the muscle under that supporting him. Crazy.
Eddie in this time period was probably one of the top strongest humans ever.
WHen he banged out that 15 reps in wsm with 320 kg s in like 30 seconds that was crazy.
Eddie is not even human. Holy fucking shit.
He took 4o5 to a whole new level
We need Eddie vs Thor vs Dan
Thor 1200, Dan 1080, Eddie 1100
why strongman never competed in any powerlifting comp?
also Belt prevent injuries or what does it do?
almost 32 times his body weight
😂
didnt know eddie weighed a measly 12 kilos
i belive it
If he can do 405kg completely raw, then I'd wager that with sleeves and a belt he could squeeze out another 10% increase to get to 440kg. Pair that with his PR combo of a 300kg bench press and 410kg deadlift, and he'd already be within 33kg of the ATG powerlifting record.
20kg = 45 lb therefore 1kg = 2.25 lb. That means 405kg = 911.25 lbs, so it's an over 900 lb squat
With sleeves and a belt with more focus on 1RM he'd be a 1000+ squatter, with wraps for sure. I don't believe there is a 1 RM squat event for strongman, usually they do something in the 700-800 range for reps.
Say 1050 with wraps, 660 lb bench and 950 dead. He'd likely have the powerlifting world record if he had focused on it.
Andrew Richard will be the static king give it a few years
What's the heaviest raw squat max on record, I wonder? Paul Anderson did 10 reps with 900 lbs, which was witnessed by John Grimeck.
Stronger man ever in 2017
What are Brian Shaws best powerlifting lifts???
410 squat and 240x2 Bench.
Wow, that's wild. I wonder why he never tried to max out with a belt and knee wraps.
Yeah, I can easily believe that
Back when the beast was truly the beast
Beast for a reason!
This is what he says, but is there a video?
Raw I believe Eddie could Squat 400, DL 420 and Bench 300 at his peak. 1100 was definitely within his scope.
He would be top three all time no doubt.
Crazy to think this is also just a training max. He wasn’t peaked or anything and raw dogging it completely. Give him a belt and wraps and a taper, phew.
I would’ve thought it’d be higher. His pressing strength is his real strength
He was really built for powerlifting and wasn't a super good strongman. Could have been the powerlifting GOAT.
Wasnt he benching 600+?
So with wraps and a belt we are looking at a 1k squat, 600 bench, 1k deadlift as pretty reasonable numbers for Eddie....fucking insane
He's done 585x6 on bench so I think it's fair to say his bench was probably closer to 7 than it was to 6
@@ajsbd3815 wowowowow
his max raw bench is 617 (with elbow sleeves) and max raw deadlift is 794.
Man hit 405… kgs…
and just wait until he gets his bulk in
Now we know how weak we all really are!
The high seven hunduurds
If Eddie Fucking Hall uses pins when squatting 345kg for reps, nobody have any excuses for not using it.
Safety first
When he was deadlifting and held the weight while doing a casual interview
Beast
man said raw and wriggly. Dude could have had the 500kg squat and deadlift haha
Crazy he only won WSM once.
Just hi speak year and he decided to retire, for obvious reasons
Then where’s the video of it?
he had 2 more in
I mean in knee wraps with a belt, peaked, that’s easily over 1,000 pound squat. Probably could’ve done somewhere around 950 deadlift raw, and maybe 650 pause bench. Let’s be real, Eddie could’ve taken the all time WR in powerlifting.
Dumb question, Eddie is so big and most federations limit the with of a lifting belt. Will a belt actually hurt Eddie???
405 * 2 = 810....add 81 and you got the answer: 891
It's not hard.
Keep in mind that was NO BELT and probably still wasnt even his true 100% max
No belt too, insanity
405kg squat + 500kg deadlift + 300kg bench = 1205kg total. Of course those couldn't be done together in a meet but tell me Eddie couldn't have set the all time world record in powerlifting
He wouldn't be close to 500 kg deadlift, that was with a suit and straps. Powerlfiting meet don't use those. Jesus Olivares is 23 already way above Eddie halls numbers.
Lol his max raw deadlift is 360.
If he just trained straight powerlifting for a year he would have the highest total ever
I would literally die if tried that weight lol
You cut Eddie off to early there..."completely raw, no knee sleeves, no belt"....and i wasn't hydrated!
Too bad he quit the game, would be interesting to see how he would go up against Hadfthor in PL, he would of course beat him in the bench and probably in the squat too, deadlift most likely the same
No knee sleeves...no belt....no phone to film it
A guy does no sleeves no belt 345×8, and some internet clown has problems believing he did 405 raw. Most of the people here who actually has any idea about how heavy that weight is on your back, says they got surprised he didn't say at least 430
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
400KG NO BELT???
Eddie would stand a much better chance than Thor at taking the powerlifting total WR. He would put up a 300kg bench unlike Thor who I doubt will do over 250.
Certainly in 2017 Eddie was strong. But Eddie's time is probably over. Haftor might have a chance.
@@jebudylajtwejt8051 he chose it to be over, the strength he possessed came with a toll on his body, dude was 196 kilos at 193 cms. He had to retire or we wouldn't be seeing Eddie now
16 his almost bodyweight
Those are rookie numbers
I think Eddie would’ve had a better chance break Dan Bells record. Eddie benches well over 600lbs
Eddies heaviesr raw are 893 sqaut and 793 deadlift. Thors is 1014 and 904. Thor will hit 1100, 600, 1000 this December, wait and see.
@@alec_m50 I don’t know, that’s too much to ask
I think 405kg is realistic
Meanwhile im getting injured squatting 185lbs genetics are everything in life
Eddie would say technique and diet are more important.
@@DylanFowler he would but it ain’t true
@@Cenatcenat902 yeah I agree with you here. Can have people training for years with a strict routine and only manage a 200lb squat but then you have others that have never squatted before and put up 200lb on their first ever squat. Genetics is everything
@@arze2092 facts
@@Cenatcenat902 lol, you can improve your genetics, through doing it, but yeah Eddies genes are off the charts.
When they inevitably legalize assisted suicide in the states, Eddie would have a lucrative career just punching people into the afterlife.
Y’all think if he peaked for it and used a belt and sleeves, he could have had 1,000?
no belt lmaoo he's literally apart of Marvel
these are real squats unlike the knee bends that Big Z used to post lmao

Eddie hall will be same weight class as Jesus Olivares who is 23 yrs old. Jesus will destroy that weight class he isn't even in his prime yet. Squats over 1k sleeves, deadlift over 900 no straps no suit, bench over 600. Just a matter of time he squats 1100, deadlift 1000, bench 700
He is a powerlifter dude.. not a strongman. Eddie's training was much much different, if he was training for Powerlifting and competed in his prime the world record would be untouchable by now
@Dummy no it won't, Jesus is 23. Eddie was in his mid 30s and using equipments to get where he was at. Eddie only won 1 Strongman Competition he wasn't strongest at his own game. Yall fan boys need to get real. Powerlfiting is more strict. Hit below the knees Squats, pause bench, and use no strap and no deadlift suits. Eddie won't even be close to any record at his weight class.

It's sad that Eddie never did powerlifting. He always said that "powerlifting is filled with a bunch of bitches", but he would be so good at it.
