The GPU market especially the mainstream and mid-range markets after the release of AMD’s RX 7600 and Nvidia’s RTX 4060 Ti have gotten a bit crazy. I decided it would be best to take a few steps back evaluate the market as a whole, find out and give you guys my suggestions on what GPUs you should be buying based on budget, performance target, resolution and more. The vast majority of the PC gaming consumer base resides in the lower end segments so that is where most of my focus was for this video. There are some excellent options on the market both NEW and USED. You just have to take some time research and you will find your solution.

The GTX 1080Ti still even to this day continues to perform and perform well. The reason is because of it's memory bus width and size 11GB with 352 bit bus. The lesson when buying a card is to go for VRAM size and VRAM bus width.

For real, that 11GB really comes in handy it's already a lot faster than any 8GB card in games I play since 8GB just isn't enough to run them on 1080p at high or ultra settings.

I also really love the Titan Xp at $175 - $200 bucks on the used market, you get a full 12 GB of VRAM and a massive 384 bit bus, perhaps you won't consider it a huge upgrade over a 1080 Ti for the price difference of around $20 - $30 in some cases. I love both.

I also want to point out there are a lot of deals on Intel 12th gen and Ryzen 5000 CPUs - anyone on a fixed budget looking to game at 1440p or higher can possibly move up a GPU tier by cheaping out a little on the CPU and mobo. Even the i5 13400F can be had for $165.

Just recently bought RX6600xt in Ukraine. It was a bit more expensive than 5700xt, but I wanted a more power efficient and recent GPU. Also, it's nice that it can do ray tracing, albeit it's admittedly bad at it.

Got a used Sapphire Radeon 6600 XT 8gb a few months ago at ebay for $200, and it does a fine job with games, but the initial switch from a Nvidia card caused me trouble on my PC. I then learned of the DDU utility to uninstall all previous graphics drivers before you install a different brand of card, and things worked well then. Just recently got a Intel Arc a750, out of curiosity, and I like that card better than the 6600 XT because of it's media encoders, but had some serious issues getting that installed without problems, and finally had to reinstall Windows 10, and now the Arc a750 is running without any issues, with the latest drivers.

Anyway I don't regret my purchase, it runs what I play at almost everything max 1440p (World of warships, no add, xd). It would do even 4K that game.
It's hard to get used to dropping prices even after 30y DIY my PCs, maybe bc I had my purchase ceiling usually at 150USD for either cpu or gpu to feel drops of prices in time less hurting in absolute amounts, xd. Sucks that Nvidia's extra features like ray tracing and that AI frames are just not good. Or you just have to sacrifice a lot of performance for it or even worse input latency lmao.
I wish they would make a new card without all those new features.

6700xt can do ray tracing like a 3060 so if you're happy with 3060 levels of ray tracing 6700 xt can definitely do it.

The whole 30 series was a SCAM no one is playing at 8k since the day 1 review and that's when you know how much marketing bs there is. 40 series is even more of a scam because they're still charging crypto mining prices despite low gpu demands.

i'm looking to upgrade my old 1060 3gb, I sometimes play games but I use it mostly for architecture related fields, and the sad thing is that AMD is not really recomended for the programs im looking using it for, and I was planning on getting a 6700xt :/

The thing with my situation is that 80% of the programs and software will run ok, 10% will run with a 6700xt because the 12gb will push through even if not recommended and would probably have bugs and glitches, and 10% are not supported at all and will not run, in that aspect Nvidia has an advantage
