- A single Imperial Stormtrooper against a group of heretics. Easy enough.
Made this short to practise my weighted movements, so I'd definitely appreciate it if yall yeet some criticism at me! And also I needed an excuse to animate the boltgun.

If we were to have any normal human as a hero, they would certainly be the tempestus, because of their skill. Shame that they aren't also great melee combatants.

I really like how you can feel the impact in the lasgun, a lot of times people make them shoot like laser pointers.
I thought the joke was they WERE laser pointers.
@@Firan25 compared to what the Imperial Guard has to fight on a daily basis...they are. Against a non-armored human a Lasgun can rip a hole through a body and sever limbs. Now then...try using a Lasgun against a squad of Ork Boyz, a band of Tyranids, or worse, a Chaos Space Marine and you'll see why they're massed with heavier weapons as support.
This is a hot shot lasgun I think, so a lot more powerful than the weaker IG basic lasgun which is joked as a flashlight. Even then IG have volume of fire so.....still effective
Regular lasgun shots can take chucks out of concrete. They'd have some impact

Feels weird hearing the combine last breath sound without a "deeeeeeeeet" flat line after.
All the sound effects here are mashed together from all sorts of things, for example the bolt pistol sound is just a TF2 sniper rifle mixed with an Ambassador and metal impact noises.

That's strange, I was annoyed at this model being the only one I could find anywhere and was a bit reluctant to use it. But it turned out pretty good! And yes, do try and pursue animation if you like it bruh. Its frustrating, hard and takes time but it feels satisfying as all hell to see your work turn out actually decent.
They thought they had him when they shot his Hotshot rifle out of his hands... they were mistaken. And that mistake will cost them... dearly.
Super good animation though, I can really feel the weight as he constantly shifts for firing a new target, something so many animators fail to do. What a surprise that that backpack and all his gear weighs a hell of a lot of weight, so I'm super proud to see someone get that right. And thank you for giving the Tempestus Scion's some love. They are true badasses of the Imperium and deserve more love.
Weight has been a major sticker for me and my past animations, so I spent a heck ton of time trying to get it right here. Glad you liked it!

@@inquisitorthomasdefinitely536 And I still say this is a question of circumstances and requirements.
Bolt pistols are much harder to maintain, have a much smaller ammo capacity and a limited range. Also, in case you fire it in close combat or close quarter combat the risk the ammo explodes into your face as well is much higher.
A lasgun is relatively cheap to produce, easy to maintain, has quite a large ammo capacity (of course depending on the pattern), the range and accuracy is much higher, you can charge ammo packs even by throwing them into a fire and they are much, much more easy to handle. All very good arguments in favour of the lasgun.

@@inquisitorthomasdefinitely536 Then I misunderstood your words. And in general I would say that you are right then. Although a laser blast hitting a human sized enemy can easily rip it into pieces as well by the vapour pressure created by the boiling flesh alone.
But assuming a one vs one and also one-mag only scenario versus a 'Nid, Necron or Ork, I'd would go with the bolt pistol then.

@@inquisitorkryptman7893 Yeah I'd use a different planet since Cadia has fallen, but the one thing that's always known is simply that the planet broke before the guard, even with it break apart under their very feet, they still kept on fighting, that takes guts.
Had a moment like this in Helldivers. Had to do with just a bayonet for a while.

I would have gone with shooting the bolt pistol with both hands to try and keep accuracy, given the round size. last thing you wanna do is injure yourself just trying to shoot the heretics already charging at you, better for shot follow up in case you miss as well. Otherwise, very impressive. A very enjoyable watch.
It's not uncommon for stormtroopers to have gene augs or cybernetics, so firing a human pattern bolt pistol one handed isn't a big problem for them.
Commissars tend to carry one and use them one-handedly (atleast according to the propaganda pictures). It's probably very uncomfortable but doable without breaking your wrist, and given that stormtroopers get some minor augments and gene tailoring, they likely have the strength to handle it like a sidearm but still not to the degree of a Space Marine.
No one fires pistols with both hands in 40k.

@@freakymoejoe2 At least they still usually survive it even if they're knocked unconscious, unlike unarmored rebels who are usually just hella ded unless plot armor. It takes a bigger gun to actually one-shot kill a stormie. Plus contrary to what bluecap said, stormy armor was also exceptionally difficult to get through with non-blaster guns; "slug throwers" (think modern day bullet weapons) would basically never penetrate, unless it was a particularly large/powerful shot and-or hit the black bodyglove.
@@Ghostly_One1 actually if you read the lore a bit more than what most nerds do (takes like 4 seconds to realize it too) all those stormtroopers in the movies *are* dead. Canonically the rebels use more powerful blasters to account for stormtrooper armor. Rebel guns = slow, accurate, powerful. Stormtrooper guns = fast, mediocrely accurate, great against flesh. Basically, stormtrooper armor is like the kevlar police vest of starwars blasters.
EDIT: stormtrooper armor is made of a plastic composit. It only stops bullets in legends which is so contradictory it'd be idiotic to use.
Love this animation and your vids in general, great to see Guardsmen being more than damsels in distress for the Astartes to rescue. Seriously I think most animators forget that 99% of the Guard spend their whole lives without ever seeing a Marine. Also great to see Renegade/Lost and Damned forces in action, they don't get enough love.
I do plan on doing more imperial guard/non-astartes animations, but thank you, loyal Imperium citizen!

@@littleregg3164 I know what a Stormtrooper/Scion is friend, until recently models their were listed as part of the Astra Militarum forces however, hence why I still call them guardsmen. I don't like Scions and Solar Auxilla being in separate lists to Militarum and Imperialis militia in 30k and 40k respectively.
A_Brick _Wall They are still a part of the Astra Militarum forces. Astra Militarum is an umbrella term. Guardsmen are separate from Scions in the same fashion that guardsmen are separate from abhuman Auxillia. I’ve just mentioned three different organizations under the Astra Militarum umbrella. Do you calls Ogryns guardsmen?
The sound design is amazing. The lasgun and bolter sounds are perfect AND most lore-friendly I've ever seen. You even got the timing between the bolter firing and the round exploding down
this is one of the reasons i like you, you show footage of the guardsmen at work, sure space marines are awesome and all but seeing a normal man fight these threats always brings a smile

Imperial Stormtrooper = ODST
Imperial Stormtrooper = Spartan IIIs (right down to the only recruiting from orphans thing)

I always loved this version of the Stormtrooper sculpts; the sci fi aesthetic; how he looks like he’s carrying so much gear it would be a burden for any other man. He even looks Void friendly, or any environment for that matter.

The stormtroopers in star wars are supposed to be an elite force but they always seem to fall flat. The army seen in solo seems to preform better even though they aren't supposed to.
Back when stormtroopers looked closer to something you would see in Modern Day rather than space knights

I really doubt it, since each and everyone of the inquisitor’s assassins are WAY more skilled in fighting than John Wick will ever be, so hiring him as an assassin would be a huge downgrade for them.
Thats like saying that a government will turn a child who is pretty good at math into an elite mathematician.
If he is lucky he would become an assassin, but I REALLY doubt he would be one of the “best assassins”

Oi! Don’t get aggressive on me, this is supposed to be a civilized discussion on wether John Wick would be a suitable assassin for the inquisition, not an angry mindless blabber of two children discussing which one of their favorite superhero would win in a fight, so be cool.
Anyways, yeah, if the inquisition finds him and decides to use resources to train him to become a super assassin, then I guess it is plausible for him to become a good assassin, but you forget that inquisition assassins are strictly and harshly trained since birth to become nothing more than super killing machines, and John Wick will never have the opportunity to go through such a high amount of intense training.
I agree that my example was a bit flawed, but unfortunately John is not a child anymore, meaning that even if he somehow impresses the inquisition enough for them to want to train him, I really doubt he will become one of the “best assassins” due to the fact that his fellow assassins would have years upon years of more training than he will ever get the chance to get in his lifetime.
So yeah, I believe that even if he gets lucky enough to get noticed by the inquisition, I really doubt he will ever be as good as the other assassins.

I love the animations that show Lasguns the way the actually are. They're not "hurr durr flashlight laser pointers" no they're military weapons more than capable of killing most targets in just a few shots.

Great audioscaping. I can't remember the last time I heard a bolt round sound like one. Really impressed with the level of quality in the animation so far. Would like to see what you can do after taking on board what others have observed.

Really digging the sound effects and the display of carnage getting shot by a Bolt weapon. This, like Astartes, should be the standard of depicting someone getting shot by a Bolter in all media.
Bolters do far more damage in official lore.

The moment where his lasgun gets shot, feels like there's not enough force/impact being transferred to his hands, unless it's obvious that the Kasrkin didn't grip his gun strongly.
Also when he shot his autopistol, the up and down motion of his arms feel just a bit too floaty. A sharp rise followed by a steady curve would be better.

@@lucasahumada6913 hes not talking about the amount of recoil, but a lack of jerk to the animation to make it feel like realistic heavy recoil
I just love how you make the lasgun look and feel like an actually dangerous weapon with quite the impact, not like the infamous flashlight. Just one complaint here, I really don't think that a lasgun will have a smoking barrel after firing a shot.
I mean, there is a lot of heat in the shot if it can blow off arms.
Furzkampfbomber when you are fighting enemies that can stand up to sustained bolter fire a laser weapon is going to be pretty weak by comparison, also "he who mocks the las gun has never run across a field against a thousand of them" there's a reason why one of the imperial guards nicknames is "the wall of guns"
@@dionwoollaston5717 I really think that depends on the type of armor. Steel for instance might be able to withstand massive impacts and explosions, but might be vulnerable to the concentrated heat of a laser. Yes, I know, power armor and ceramite plating and future tech and whatnot, so I am just saying.

I like that 'wall of guns' saying, by the way. Reminds me of Dan Abnetts 'Necropolis' where he describes how one of the characters hears a high pitched howling sound that fills the air and then realises this comes from tens of thousands of lasguns fired simultaneously.

I actually took the wall of guns nickname from an spin off episode of if the emperor had a text to speech device where Corvus corax after being corrected by two space marines in a raised voice says "THE WALL OF GUNS" on the name of the imperial guard which he called the imperial army

Well done animation. Only 2 mistake I can spot: blood pool spawning too early at 0:16, and at 0:15 where no one really charges from the same angle as the shot that blasted the lasgun away.
