6/10. Good: Nailed the scale that 40k aims for. Art direction is appropriately gritty. Voice acting is good, music is great. Story is very appropriate Bad: Most of the issues with this video are rooted in the technical ability of the creator(s). I am not mocking them, let me be clear. Especially given the number of character models, this is quite an achievement. Examples of this include the deployment of the Armiger which is implied to come from orbit but no landing is shown, or even a falling object. The sound design for the weapons lacks diversity or appropriate impact. Overall I'm happy to have watched the video, and I hope the person(s) behind it continue to do so and improve their work.

And don't forget the Helsreach mini series
@@MoskoniDesign Ships would never translate in atmosphere but aside from that very good .
The aerial views of the ships prowling low orbit and the squadrons of Valkyries and vultures flying over the destroyed city looked _REALLY_ good. Top notch work 😎🤯
It looks good. Not sure about the ships jumping into low orbit though
I appreciate that both sides are portrayed as competent, surprisingly rare to see in 40k animation.
So halfway through this, but the way he finished that talk to his men at around 7:25 with "AND GO HOME!" makes this for me.
Having guardsman behaving like human beings instead of constantly grimderp is very refreshing
This is literally the coolest thing I've seen in like...2 years.
Old school stormies! My favorites. Love that old progenium armor
Holy this is awesome.
Finally some fullscale WAR in Warhammer^^.
So happy that you choose Cadia and the Bloodpakt.
Great Voices.
Exciting.
Good Story.
Just well done, well done.
!The Emperor protects!
Awesome to see the 553rd in this, glad you enjoyed the gear we have. Beautiful work with the animation.
Much obliged and many thanks!
wonderfully done job!
If you tweak the effects and add more varied animations, it will be great!
At some points it feels like real people were filming there
@@MoskoniDesign
Thanks a lot ! I have a big Astra Militarum Project stuck in limbo and you just gave me an inspiration boost.
I look forward to seeing it!
I love the interplay. Usually in these kinds of shorts you first have one team dominating and then the next one. This is a far more varied way of showing people winning and losing.
When GW realizes how much better people like you are at loving their own franchise, maybe they will change for the better. You are the embodiment of the true passion and love for this world the community feels.
GW doesn't care.
It's run by old guard that only ever think about profit margins going up.
@@techpriest6962 IRL Administratum
That, orrrr they'll try and take it down
@@techpriest6962 no, no. You've got that arse about face. The Old Guard gave a shit. The new guard for GW only care about profits
@@anerexicpig720Unfortunately, this is INFINITELY more likely.
Excellent work! One of the best 40k short films I've seen. Looking forward to the next one!
Holy moly! I see they are using archeotech like MG42-s as well! Awesome job friends! At the end are those MK III and MK V helmets? Amazing focus on the details!
Stubbers are cheap and plentiful after all
MG3s
42s haven't been around in years and no, they're not the same no matter how similar they look.
I am unashamedly rooting for Chaos because you really showed me my two favorite Chaos factions.
The Blood Pact working hand in hand with The Iron Warriors? Jeez talk about a dream team, logical sensible Chaos Cultists who worship Khorne and thrive in combat due to their iron discipline and the Iron Warriors, enough said.
YEEEESS FUCK YEAH CHAOS!!! I really happy to see Blood Pact hope they win because we not even ONCE had a fan animation about Chaos.
Yep. You're on the list.
All chaos is good for is target practice and dissection via chain sword. 😂
Only through chaos mankind can gain the strength cast off the lies of the false emperor and reach its true potential.
"Logical sensible Chaos Cultists that worship Khorne" you really don't see any issues with that statement 😂😂?
May wind up with more to this comment as im only half way in but a thing I greatly love already is that you depict multiple facets of combat here. Not just the changing and shooting as often seen, but also the carrying out of casualties, communication, and even combat medics doing work under fire (a particularly awesome detail to me). Well done!
Best thing since Astartes. This needs to be shared everywhere.
Carry the Emperor´s will as your torch, with it destroy the shadows
The "Dark Age Astartes | Morningstar" was awesome too.
@@FlexStudioPLyeah mourningstar was sick even tho it wasn’t 40k
@@FlexStudioPLdon’t forget the sodaz saga
Another beautiful and amazing Warhammer 40k animation to watch. Awesome. That ending soundtrack was some amazing orchestral suspense build up music
This just makes me want a game like Space Marine, but for the Guard instead. That would be incredible
Yeah a Guardsman game based on Tempestus Scions would be bonkers. You're still a badass who can chew through Chaos cultists and Guardsman, but stuff like Chaos Marines and other corrupted Chaos stuff is kind of like Cosmic horror to even a Scion. Yeah like give me a old CoD or Battlefield type game but with all the brutality and grimdark of 40K. The premise of this video would make a good game itself
Someone quick! Get this backed-up!
Incredible work. Can't wait to see more!
You know it will be good if A Vox in the Void is in it. Really enjoyed it. Good pace, great animation, cool scenes. Cant wait for part 2.
Brilliantly voiced. I loved the Armigier fight, it's easy to think of them as just the smallest knights but you managed to make it clear that they're a huge (and terrifying) problem for infantry. Can't wait for part 2!
"Focus on the objective Goddammir!"
Oooppp, someone's getting taken out for Heresy when this is done, you aren't supposed to acknowledge anyone but the Emperor
Focus on the objective, godemperordamnit
God in reference to the God Emperor, clearly. There is only one god, after all, and he sits upon the Golden Throne on Holy Terra.
There were a couple of language point that I thought were off. this and no blessings before launching, no mention that the mission was a holy one etc. The dialogue has a lot less Faith based material than other works. really good overall though.
@@jim4695 Might be an oversight by the script writer, might be a result of them being Kasrkin and therefore harder motherfuckers.
Minor issues either way
Man you absolutely NAILED the frantic combat of a guardsman, like holy shit well done!
Gotta love the cultist rocking those mg-42 XD
The weapon of bad guys until the end of time

Bro, as a Guard fanatic I gotta say this is art. Love this. If you ever did a Steel Legion short I might actually bust.
Emperor bless you for this magnificent gem.
Thank you...
This was such a treat to watch I'm glad it popped up in my recommended! I would love to see how the clash between the guard and the chaos forces with knights would unfold while the karskin finish the job
Such an amazing fan project, I haven't seen one this good in quite some time, keep it up!
This is absolutely fantastic. Please continue this series.
This is what 40k is like from the lore put to screen.
If GW takes this down this community will outrage.
Keep up the good work.
Inspire others to make content like this.
Bravo 👏. I’m loving the scale of the conflict, 100+ drops ships in the background is the icing on the cake.
Holy Emperor! It needs more views! That end with the marching Iron Warriors means one thing - the guardsmen without some back up are screwed. Entire batalion of Traitor Marines with tanks and light Chaos Knights. Not to mention their warship. It's gonna be a hell of fight in part 2. I feel it. End realism of this is cool as well. And a scale.
Can’t believe this level of animation that in my opinion almost surpasses licensed GW content was made in Arma 3 and with CGI, that’s insane, dude you’re a genius! We need Part 2 ASAP!!
This 11:45 video was better then every episode of Hammer and Bolter put out by Warhammer +
Probably why they don't like fan art. They make content for profit whilest fan made content is for pasion. Can't compete.
Man I was hoping this was going to feature Blood Pact as main characters... No one ever makes fan animation about chaos.. Anyways good job on this one!
Its a pity, always catering to imperium fanbois... Although this is well made and both sides act like real soldiers and not like idiots with guns...
Gonna follow this one
@@joseestevezhernandez558 Both sides are actually idiots with guns pretending to be soldiers, guardsmen are just charging through enemy defensive line without cover, fire suppression, or trench... And then resorted to melee fighting once they got close enough after a bunch of them dying in a meat grinder, but this is just a fan made animation after all. It's all about the rule of cool.
Part two? Please, pretty please? Amazing work, I am just getting into the world that is 40K and this video popped up. Cant wait for the next segment!
This is why Warhammer is truly magnificent 💪🗿
Absolutely brilliant
0:58 I LOVE that announcer coming over the vox intercom sounding off words of encouragement for the proud guardsmen in preparation for their mission! It reminds me of when Sgt. Johnson from Halo would always pep talk his men or whoever he was talking to just before a mission or assignment.
This is just magnificent. The lighting, SFX, voice acting, choreography, and settings make everything that much better. We can tell that there was love and dedication put into this.
Ave imperator brother
Vox in the Void, YES, LET'S GO!!!
Good to see dude from COD still giving dismal assessments of the situation in a Scottish accent
Dude that is brutal, the best fanmade i've ever seen since project Astartes... the sound FX and the voice acting are just supreme, i would believe that's a cutsecne from a videogame indeed. Keep it up!!! Any clue on when part two is going to drop?
Fantastic work. There's a few minor issues but this was very engaging and will be remembered as one of the best 40k fan animations. Im very excited to see your future work.
Loved the cinematic angles as well as the music and sound effects. You can tell a lot of work and love went into this. Neat to find animations like this on youtube still.
Me: "Send forth all Iron Warrior legions. Do not stop the attack until the enemy is routed. Strike out from every direction and slay them all."
Chaos Sergeant: "What of the commander of the Loyalists."
Me: "I will wait till the next Episode."
I read your comment in the Witch King of Agmar’s voice
6/10. Good: Nailed the scale that 40k aims for. Art direction is appropriately gritty. Voice acting is good, music is great. Story is very appropriate
Bad: Most of the issues with this video are rooted in the technical ability of the creator(s).
Yet another fan-made unofficial project showing Games Workshop how it's done. Amazing work, can't wait to see more
Arma3 walking animation lmao
Best 40k fanfilm I’ve seen since Astartes. I need a full series or film of this, outstanding work!
PART 2 I BEG YOU!
Hello, I'm from Brazil, Amazonas, I leave my sincere words, I love the history and games of Warhammer 40k, besides, I've been a fan of this universe for 20 years, it's my main hobby!
Absolutely amazing, the music matches the scene of events. Once again, great job, putting this together.
I really liked how you included the armiger in there. So far I've only seen them in snippets of Broken Lance, and they're my favorite tabletop unit. I'm glad you featured one.
Grafics, storyline, and everything here are completely stunning! Amazing job well done!
Nice to hear that Scotland is still around in 40000
Honestly this was great. You can tell some passion went into this. Can't wait for part 2
A huge thank you going out to all the wonderful people involved in bringing the 40k universe to life in this film. Very well done! I can't wait to see more.
The forces of chaos are surprisingly well organized.
I gave up on sleep after having back-to-back nightmares about zombie children, and I'm glad I found this video. It didn't necessarily cheer me up, but it made me feel a whole lot better!
This is outstanding, excellent work. Subbed.
I appreciate that the Guard is treated as an actual military force rather than meme cannon fodder
That was sick man.
Your style of using a lot of high contrast blackness particularly in the indoor areas is very appropriate and well done for this universe.
Impatiently waiting for the next episode! That was a blast! I like that you aimed for larger scale battle scenes to show how hectic the front lines can get! 💪
That frissure VFX triggered some new kind of fear in me, it's awe inspiring
YO, this sh*t is Fire. I had no idea what this was, then all of a sudden...DEEP rumbles and Quality Voiceovers, I'm impressed.
glad to see those Chaos marines are taking safety seriously with those warning stripes
