Awesome!. Almost gave up golf my game got so bad. I've been struggling for 2 years with coming over the top. I tried watching dozens of video, even a lesson. Nothing worked. All I did was follow your advise on the set up; shift more weight to my left side on set up, and tilt upper body more to the right. Bingo! That's all it took. Thanks
Hi Todd. Love your channel. No BS. Would a small step with the left foot work in actual play. It’s great in the drills. Wonder if I can use it to get solid contact?
In a nutshell, yes. The key is to find what works well for you and your game. This is the journey we are all on....appreciate the kind words and you taking time to post. More great content coming...
Allan Patrick - really worked on early weight shift; getting the weight on the front foot. Saw the difference on the range. More solid contact. Couldn't take it to the course, though. Swing went south within a few holes and I was toast. Will try to get it grooved so I can repeat it on the course.
Thanks Todd! Excellent video with ton of great content. I have been really struggling with shallowing the club, I can work on things you outlined in this vid.
Love your description of what to do. I can practice this time and time again but when I get out onto the golf course, my 30 years of doing it wrong just comes back. Very bad muscle memory. That’s what I’m trying to fix, bad muscle memory. Suggestions?
I love this video I have found that there might be too much information all at once I’m gonna have to watch it over and over plus take notes but I think it’s a great video.
Todd this is a great multiple training aid video. I very much enjoyed this. I have recently had some issues that I am sure your video will help. I do have a quick question I would appreciate you taking a sec. to address. I am fine with ball position parallel to my body but, is there a "Rule-Of-Thumb" on Ball Position away from the body? Thanks
I had a specific point that I wanted. After I sat through a lot of tangents, I did see wanted. I would have missed it if I hadn’t had a very clear picture of what I was looking for.
so from the top of the back swing, do you just do your weight shift to the left foot, and let your arms come along for the ride? or do you use your wrists to close the face of the club?
Tom from PA. Your stance is closed and the club face is pointing down the target line. Do you swing along the line of your feet or down the target line-backswing and downswing
Tom, great question. Face is at the target lie and swing the club along the toe line. This is a cornerstone of the Vertical Line Swing which is covered here www.badliegolfbook.com/
Todd, How about doing series on best drills for someone that swings too inside out and tends to hit fats, thins, pushes and hooks and tends to get club stuck and flip the clubface?
Thanks so much! All the way from Malaysia. That is like a quality golf lesson with a super pro without being in US! Haha. I will continue tolike and subscribe , and recco to all my friends. I have a question. I am a 17hc and have started to do more the bump and getting right shoulder under and through. This is to help my right shoulder turn . Followed ur dont chunk and the above video on downswing last few days. But while my strikes for 6 iron above is solid, i am having difficulty with 5 iron and hybrids. It tends to fade more or at times even slice. I tried u The last drill on left foot front but was very uncomfortable even after 200 balls. Sorry for asking and long writeup, but what could be the reason and is there a fix with same drills above but for longer irons/hybrids? Thanks so much !

@@USGOLFTVshow realize it goes though the neck, but what forms the angle. As I said, the red line follows the angle of the shaft so that's easy to establish as you have the lengtt of the shaft to use. But for the blue line, having just one point at the neck, you need a 2nd point. Does that make my question clearer? I mean if you start to draw from the neck, exactly what angle or what point do you draw the line to?
Col Virender Chaudhry think of it as an acceptable area...space where you will be able to hit quality shots should the club work its way in that area...make sense?
One of the best videos I have seen on this.
Much appreciate!
Have benefited from VLS and your videos, Todd. A great help to my game. Keep them coming. I'm 71 from Edmond, Oklahoma.

Both are happening in the transition. It really depends on the player as to what they feel. Typically we will focus on weight shift first.

Do you follow the same downswing sequence for irons as you do for driver?
Sir_Voxington really good question, yes you want the same sequence for all clubs other than a soft wedge/pitch shot. 👊
Is it ok to bump your hips forward
Wonder if your drills promote starting the upper body too soon? Should your lower body start forward while you are still finishing your backswing?
Ask Ben Hogan
YES!!!!!!!!
understand the angle of the red line - angle of shaft, but what is the angle or origin of the blue line
Larry Goldberg the blue line will run through the base of the neck or shirt collar...a reference point...hope thus helps.

@@larrygoldberg6213 no need to have 2 points ; blue line should be parallele to the red one
Can't understand what you mean by corridor of sucess in your downswing video. Hence point not understood. Please explain in another way

Is there one thing that start your swing
yr red line is not parallel to the shaft.
