Ok, I know I am late to the game here but….. just saw this video and I think it is worth re-posting as a newer video. This one video was like magic. Of course I was one of those that thought rotation meant turning. This has fixed my swing and downswing plane. I videoed my swing prior and afterwards. No comparison. I am on plane. When I used a launch monitor, I am about 40% more accurate that I was. THANK YOU DANNY!!!!
I had seen all kinds of videos about weight shifting trying to figure out how to do it right, but Danny's simple demo of the "straight line" rotation around his spine/hips was the thing that finally clicked for me. I love the way he explains things in all his videos. I wish I could take lessons with this guy!
Danny, I started playing golf 50 years ago as a 14 yo. I was playing some good golf during 1990's when playing regularly and off a handicap of 14. Had a number of time-offs from golf since early 2003 ... never recovered. Played 5 rounds late last year and struggled badly. So bad, I decided to start from scratch. Found your video on the stance and addressing the ball. I practiced that it made sense. I then went looking for your videos on the next steps. Went outside in the backyard and practiced the next steps. After 4 weeks of no golf, just learning & practicing I went out for 2 rounds at my old club. Guess what no more slicing, irons straighter and longer, driver finding fairways more consistently. Yes, old habits creep back, but I knew what went wrong. Still more work to do, but the sense of confidence in playing shots is uplifting. Thank you for your solid, simple teaching.
I was on the driving range, struggling with shot consistency on all of my clubs. I suspected the problem was in my hip rotation because I didn't have a set rule aside from trying to move the hips first on the downswing. I watched this video, picked up the pitching wedge, "stepped on the accelerator," as the video teaches, and hit 7/7 straight down the middle to 60 meters every time. Picked up the 5 iron, 3 wood, 7 iron, and the driver and saw nearly the same dramatic improvement in consistency with every one. This may be the most effective golf drill video I've ever watched! Just read an article by GOLF AI , not going to type his name , he recommended one of your you tube videos about a hardware screw below the hips , I’ll watch that one later , just wanted to say , as a long time upper body mover who developed the classic flat shoulder turner, head moving off the ball / left wrist pivoting around the right wrist , loading into the right pivot point ( Ledbetter ) , golfer, I find this video most informative ! Straight - line turn of my right just changed everything in an instant ! Retired Teaching Professional , so I know ! Thanks, John ps. Hi Danny, hope you and your family are keeping well. I was a member at Canterbury G.C for a couple of years 2015-17 and had a few lessons with you. I am now back semi-retired in sunny Belfast waiting for golf to start up again at my new club Dunmurry G.C. After trawling the internet for golf videos to help my game improve, including watching hour and two hour videos from the greats such as Seve and Jack Nicklaus, I restarted watching your you tube videos again. I can honestly say they are so engaging and helpful delivered in a very straight forwarded manner. I find the individual drills very helpful and easy to follow. Now that I have settled on your tips to improve my game I relish the challenge of getting back on the course as a senior member and get my handicap down. I usually don’t write comments but this really changed everything in my game. Before I was doing a lot of weight shifting from side to side wish meant inconsistency or not even a shot in the air. I tried this yesterday and I did the best shots I have ever done as well as the length of the shots. So big thanks Danny!
For me, this is a golf swing epiphany. I have worked so hard on my swing over thirty years with many top notch instructors, one a perennial top five rank in the nation. I’ve gotten it down to trying to finish low and left like Mr Hogan. This concept not only has put all of the bits and pieces together, but also now that I am not trying to TURN so hard I am finishing lower and more around. Breaking old habits will take a little time but I am so elated. Thank you, Danny!

I'm a pretty beginner golfer. Shot a 102 earlier this week, watched some of your videos then shot a 96. Then after watching THIS video, I went up to the range and everything felt soo much better. I watched this video yesterday lunchtime and was practicing the hip movements. Played golf in the evening and shot 74 (+4). My lowest score for over 3 years. I currently play off 11. The change was amazing and I got so much more power and accuracy on my shots. A revolation for me! Thank you!
I’ve been playing golf for 30 plus years and got as low as 5.6 last year. Loads of swing thoughts have crept into my game of late trying to get better which has seen a drastic turn for the worst in my game. Watching your videos has really simplified everything again and reduced the number of thoughts in my head whilst swinging and just concentrating on feel. These videos are a must watch
I have to say, I stopped playing a few years ago and just started again. I took a few lessons but couldn’t get my swing back. I happened upon your channel and watched a few of your videos. Suddenly everything clicked. Your way of explaining things makes perfect sense to me. I was supposed to play 18 today but we were rained out so I went to the range and played a par 3. My ball striking was better than ever. I got more from a couple of your videos than all the lessons combined. Thank you. You made golf fun again.

I have never commented on a video before and thats because I have never learnt anything i had never heard before UNTIL today. I've been away from golf for 3 years, I have always struggled with weight shifting and now I realize it's such a natural movement if you don't constantly tell yourself you need to rotate your hips. Why is it, in the history of youtube and all the lessons I have every taken, nobody has ever explained to me that it is a straight line motion? I mean look, I play a lot of golf and practice 3-4 times a week. I get my clubs fitted to me and I take regular lessons. I have the "good player miss" which we know is a hook caused by sliding. I am told not to slide, but I can never figure out why I am sliding or how to stop it. In 10m you explained to me how rotation really works and now, no more sliding (at least when i don't get lazy). Pure gold, well done, I am sharing this we people I don't play money games against :P
This video is fantastic. Such an easy drill. Got right up and went to the back yard with my lob wedge and aimed at the same bucket I always aim at. Out of 3 balls, one went in and the other two hit the bucket. Immediate improvement in my swing. I was experimenting with everything possible before this, ball position, grip, shoulder turn, staying down, etc. This one change made everything else moot. Love it and thank you.
I’ve had lessons recently where I was told I early extend and don’t rotate my hips. After “fixing” my early extension and getting my hips more active I have frustratingly started hitting the ball really inconsistently with huge slices, the occasional straight pull and regular shanks. This drill has shown me that I’ve been thinking about hip rotation in completely the wrong way - I’ve been focusing on firing my trail hip as fast as possible in the downswing which is causing my shoulders to spin out at the top, whereas the first drill in this video very quickly demonstrates the correct way to rotate the hips. I can’t wait to take this to the range. Thanks Danny!
This is my favorite rotation backswing and forward swing drill with comments on when to put pressure on your toe and heel. I have been practicing this drill over and over and has helped me greatly from not swaying and over rotating my body. Love all your tips. Stay safe and healthy.
I've been binging your videos since I came home from the range yesterday. I've had low back/hip issues for years, and find getting a good rotation to be difficult. After this video, I've learned I've been forcing my body to do all the things this video is trying to cure. Actively trying to twist my hips for rotation, probably sliding too lol. My wife is just starting out, and I think her and I will benefit from starting from scratch with our swings. I've never had the same swing twice in 30 yrs of golf. Realizing that less is likely more when it comes to finding a consistent swing. Thanks for all you do!
For those having trouble with this if you are a right handed golfer turn your chin slightly towards the target. Chin should hit left shoulder on the back swing.. What you will notice is more compact swing and Mr. Maude's rotation concept. You will hit the ball farther and with more accuracy. It's crazy how simple golf can become if you have a simple detailed concept to repeat a good swing.

Hi Danny, greetings from Malaysia. All these years of playing I have been having the problem of swaying in my swing trying to "shift my weight" back and through. Having seen your video I realized there is no such thing as "shifting my weight" but instead it should have been applying the correct "pressure" or "force" on the back and front foot in the swing. A few days ago I happened to watch a UA-cam video from Mike Malaska a golf teacher from the US, he said the same thing about this and he quoted what Tiger who told him that the only thought Tiger has during the back swing is to "push his hip as deep as possible". He never once mentioned the need to "rotate" his hips or "shift his weight". Now it all make sense to me. At the moment we are having a MCO (Movement Control Order) here in Malaysia until the 14th of April so golf or any other sports/outdoor activities are not allowed. I guess I just need to wait before trying out your instructions given. Thanks again for this great light bulb moment. Cheers.

This drill took so many unnecessary thoughts out of my swing I can't begin to tell you. This is such a simple drill that makes huge improvements. I can not believe I have never seen anyone teach this. I was doing everything you said by thinking I had to rotate and clear my hips and remember to get good shoulder turn and would over turn or under turn one or the other, and now that simple drill eliminated all my crazy hooks and slices. My contact is so consistent and no more standing there going where did that shot come from. I line up and the ball goes where my line is pointed. Hands down for me, and I am sure so many others, this is game changing. Now when I line up at the green I hit the green. I no longer consider the sand on the right or water on the left. My only thought now is, am I playing the right or left side or going straight at the pin. Can't thank you enough.

First time writing a comment after watching dozens of golf videos. Just tried this on the range and after about 5 minutes of awkward feeling swings (my left leg kept feeling locked on the downswing until I stopped forcing the “move back” so harshly) I had my best range session throughout the bag in a very long time time. So simple and can’t wait to try it on the course. Loved seeing the repeatable ball flight (straight or a little draw). Thank you!
Hey Danny thanks. I had recently started to whip my right hip through with the feeling of meeting the ball at the same time as my club head. Thought I was getting more power, consistency.. however after 2 longish practice sessions I was left with a very sore right hip. So your talking of ignoring the hips is a very positive idea for a 63 year old golfer.

Danny you are the best. Turning the golf swing into a throwing motion and your rotation drills are so helpful. You need to have a lesson about just the right shoulder for us amateurs. When I watch your fantastic full swings, i noticed that your right shoulder goes back and up around your spine angle, but only goes down on the downswing. The only forward motion is because it is going under your chin. the feeling is almost leaving it at the top. Most of us less than perfect swingers, because we are older and less flexible swing slightly from the top or a lot over the top. When I picked up on this with your swing and throwing motion lessons, I just try to not move my right shoulder at all from the top and that thought naturally moves my shoulder just down and my arms and wrist move beautifully into the slot position. I think you need a lesson about the right shoulder for us not to bright golfers. Once I used this swing thought, ever thing clicked and worked great with all your fantastic lessons. Thank you.
Danny, this drill helped me immensely. I have been struggling with my iron game - hitting non-stop shanks. I’ve taken lessons and spent hours on the range but nothing was helping. I watched this video last night and applied it at the range right before my round today. I didn’t hit a single shank and actually hit 9 greens in regulation. Thanks for this great video, Danny...what you have given us here is the key to an effortless golf swing. If you focus on allowing the feet and legs to do the work as you describe here, the hands, arms and club unit will passively whip the club head through impact with little to no effort on your part. Danny, I am a 73 year Brit living in the USA who makes his living coaching race car drivers so I am super interested in the teaching side of golf. I started playing when I turned 40 and have played 33 years of inconsistent golf, with my default swing being to "come over the top". I won a super senior tournament a few weeks ago at my home course Wyantenuck in MA USA, both gross and net with an 82 from the middle tees. Then in another recent tournament I had a 109 on the same course! Grr! My friends and I have been following you and practising using your videos as our guide. I can honestly say that the Best Rotation Drill has cured me, as I haven't come over the top once in my last 7 rounds, and that never happens normally, thank you, thank you, I can now sleep at night
This redefines my concept of rotating in the golf swing. I have some time to practise this while it's fresh in my mind. Thanks! I get more out of your videos than any other UA-cam golf instruction clips. As a senior golfer it really helps. Also, as a left handed golfer, I really like when you refer to your "trail" foot and front foot as opposed to right and left, which I then have to transpose in my head. Danny, this video was transformational to my game today. The way you demonstrated what the typical slicer’s upper body movement was like was me to a T. The leg movement, inducing rotation, sounded simple and I tried it.... Perfect! Not only did it help me keep my balance on the follow-through to a complete finish but I was striking the ball better than ever... on the fairway... need to sort the greens out now 😂 Managed to get me round in a gross 77 in very strong winds (off 10, par 69). I have just found this video and wow. I have developed an ever worsening sway on my backswing and a lunge onto a bent left leg on my follow through. I got down to 7.7 but my handicap is on the way back up. I simply put my difficulties down to a stiff back rather than poor technique. Danny thank you so much for this advice. It has immediately pulled me back to the correct technique. I am 56 and I see a lot of my friends struggling. I will be sharing your video with all of them. Hi Danny Im 68 and play to low 20's and only about twice a month and didnt start playing golf until i was 50 so always struggled. Anyway im due to play Princes on sat and so went to driving range to practice mid week and was appauling so trawled the internet desperate to get a few tips. After watching your video 'All in the feet' i wasnt convinced until i tried it out on the range and was amazed how simple and easy it felt, i was hitting a wedge aroung 110yds and my 7 iron 150/160 carry, it just felt so natural and very little swing thoughts, so going into sat quietly confident i wont lose to many balls. I have been struggling with back/down swing all summer and absolutely knew it was back/down swing related issue, but I didn't know how to fix it. I watched your video and knew your video was the answer! I was using significant hip rotation and getting out of alignment every time I'd swing. I have been watching youtube golf video's for 2 years, and that helps, usually incremental. This one is one of the best I came accross. This was the missing link for me, and how simple can things be, thanks Danny!
There are several instructors I follow on youtube and they all teach the same thing as far as the hips go, but this was the video that really made it click for me by getting me to stop thinking about deliberately rotating my hips and thinking about pressure in a cause and effect action.
Danny, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I am a 4 handicap with a homemade swing. My short game saves me a lot! But ive tried hundreds of hip drills, swing drills etc on UA-cam and haven't had much luck. After I stumbled on this video, I've gained 25 plus yards on my drives. 240-250 to 260-275. (Hopefully increasing more when I get it perfected). Ive been rotating my hips instead of thinking straight line like your video. Such a game changer . My ball flight and impact for irons are incredible now. Best explanation of what the hips are really doing. Sorry but I'm not sharing this with my buddies tho. Gonna make them keep buying me dinner .

Hi mate I've watched just about every golf improvement video there is out there. No one makes it more simple and straightforward as your videos. This video and the video you show on the take away keeping the left wrist from breaking too early has given my brain only a couple of things to think about And put simply, I've never hit the ball so well. I practice in a room just big and tall enough for a full swing hitting off an old carpet into an old mattress. So still able to get as much in as possible during lockdown. Personally I think if I paid a tutor to get to how I hit the ball right now, I would have shed out thousands. You are the best out there for simplifying the game like no other. Simply put Thanks mate
This is an absolute gem Danny. I have been struggling for 30 years on how to keep my head still and for the very first time realize it’s all in the weight transfer between the two feet . I have seen all your drills from your effortless swing videos and I just love the one on heel to toe and toe to heel especially the one standing in the two unstable pads. I have spent thousands of dollars in my golf swing and not a single teacher has managed to explain to me how to stay centred in the weight transfer. Danny, this is the best golf advice I have had in my 20 years of golf. My lower back pain was gradually getting worse and worse after each round and last season I could hardly play at all. By using this technique I can go 18 holes with almost no back pain and because I strike the ball much cleaner it has also added distance to both irons and clubs. Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻😎😎

Can’t thank you enough for this! “Accelerator Pedals,” such an incredibly simple feel. I have been struggling for too long with the turns. First a hook, then I correct with a slice. My favorite part, is I won’t be cluttered up mentally with swing thoughts. I will work on this and let you know how it goes.
I watch the videos but don’t seem to carry info onto the golf course. Finally asked my wife to video me playing on the course. It was a slow day on a mountain course so, no delaying others. She took about about 12 to 15 videos . I was shocked and somewhat embarrassed at my execution of basics set up, backswing, and balance and tempo. The next day I played much better, hit straighter, longer, and enjoyed the round so much better. Strongly recommend videos to compare personal improvement!!! It's amazing how this simple advice corrects years of improper swing mechanics; I've had to club down on all my irons because my distance (and aim) has simply improved so much and so effortlessly! I saw this at 1pm today. I went to the range at 2pm today. WOW. Simple instruction with phenomenal results. I always have 3-5 swing thoughts when hitting and it's hit or miss depending on what swing thought overpowers the other. With this simple method, only one swing thought (and soon it'll become natural = 0 swing thoughts) but it worked! Hitting straighter and cleaner than ever! Now to take it on the course! Thanks!!!!

I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best advice I have seen in golf to date (and that's with me pursuing endless advice for 5 years now).
I had seen all kinds of videos about weight shifting trying to figure out how to do it right, but Danny's simple demo of the "straight line" rotation around his spine/hips was the thing that finally clicked for me. I love the way he explains things in all his videos. I wish I could take lessons with this guy!
Danny, I started playing golf 50 years ago as a 14 yo. I was playing some good golf during 1990's when playing regularly and off a handicap of 14. Had a number of time-offs from golf since early 2003 ... never recovered. Played 5 rounds late last year and struggled badly. So bad, I decided to start from scratch. Found your video on the stance and addressing the ball. I practiced that it made sense. I then went looking for your videos on the next steps. Went outside in the backyard and practiced the next steps. After 4 weeks of no golf, just learning & practicing I went out for 2 rounds at my old club. Guess what no more slicing, irons straighter and longer, driver finding fairways more consistently. Yes, old habits creep back, but I knew what went wrong. Still more work to do, but the sense of confidence in playing shots is uplifting. Thank you for your solid, simple teaching.
I was on the driving range, struggling with shot consistency on all of my clubs. I suspected the problem was in my hip rotation because I didn't have a set rule aside from trying to move the hips first on the downswing. I watched this video, picked up the pitching wedge, "stepped on the accelerator," as the video teaches, and hit 7/7 straight down the middle to 60 meters every time. Picked up the 5 iron, 3 wood, 7 iron, and the driver and saw nearly the same dramatic improvement in consistency with every one. This may be the most effective golf drill video I've ever watched!

Straight - line turn of my right just changed everything in an instant ! Retired Teaching Professional , so I know ! Thanks, John ps. Hi Danny, hope you and your family are keeping well. I was a member at Canterbury G.C for a couple of years 2015-17 and had a few lessons with you. I am now back semi-retired in sunny Belfast waiting for golf to start up again at my new club Dunmurry G.C.
After trawling the internet for golf videos to help my game improve, including watching hour and two hour videos from the greats such as Seve and Jack Nicklaus, I restarted watching your you tube videos again.
I can honestly say they are so engaging and helpful delivered in a very straight forwarded manner. I find the individual drills very helpful and easy to follow. Now that I have settled on your tips to improve my game I relish the challenge of getting back on the course as a senior member and get my handicap down.

I usually don’t write comments but this really changed everything in my game. Before I was doing a lot of weight shifting from side to side wish meant inconsistency or not even a shot in the air. I tried this yesterday and I did the best shots I have ever done as well as the length of the shots. So big thanks Danny!

For me, this is a golf swing epiphany. I have worked so hard on my swing over thirty years with many top notch instructors, one a perennial top five rank in the nation. I’ve gotten it down to trying to finish low and left like Mr Hogan. This concept not only has put all of the bits and pieces together, but also now that I am not trying to TURN so hard I am finishing lower and more around. Breaking old habits will take a little time but I am so elated. Thank you, Danny!

I watched this video yesterday lunchtime and was practicing the hip movements. Played golf in the evening and shot 74 (+4). My lowest score for over 3 years. I currently play off 11. The change was amazing and I got so much more power and accuracy on my shots. A revolation for me! Thank you!

I’ve been playing golf for 30 plus years and got as low as 5.6 last year. Loads of swing thoughts have crept into my game of late trying to get better which has seen a drastic turn for the worst in my game. Watching your videos has really simplified everything again and reduced the number of thoughts in my head whilst swinging and just concentrating on feel. These videos are a must watch
I have to say, I stopped playing a few years ago and just started again. I took a few lessons but couldn’t get my swing back. I happened upon your channel and watched a few of your videos. Suddenly everything clicked. Your way of explaining things makes perfect sense to me. I was supposed to play 18 today but we were rained out so I went to the range and played a par 3. I have never commented on a video before and thats because I have never learnt anything i had never heard before UNTIL today. I've been away from golf for 3 years, I have always struggled with weight shifting and now I realize it's such a natural movement if you don't constantly tell yourself you need to rotate your hips. Why is it, in the history of youtube and all the lessons I have every taken, nobody has ever explained to me that it is a straight line motion? I mean look, I play a lot of golf and practice 3-4 times a week. I get my clubs fitted to me and I take regular lessons. I have the "good player miss" which we know is a hook caused by sliding. I am told not to slide, but I can never figure out why I am sliding or how to stop it. In 10m you explained to me how rotation really works and now, no more sliding (at least when i don't get lazy). Pure gold, well done, I am sharing this we people I don't play money games against :P

This video is fantastic. Such an easy drill. Got right up and went to the back yard with my lob wedge and aimed at the same bucket I always aim at. Out of 3 balls, one went in and the other two hit the bucket. Immediate improvement in my swing. I was experimenting with everything possible before this, ball position, grip, shoulder turn, staying down, etc. This one change made everything else moot. Love it and thank you.
I’ve had lessons recently where I was told I early extend and don’t rotate my hips. After “fixing” my early extension and getting my hips more active I have frustratingly started hitting the ball really inconsistently with huge slices, the occasional straight pull and regular shanks. This drill has shown me that I’ve been thinking about hip rotation in completely the wrong way - I’ve been focusing on firing my trail hip as fast as possible in the downswing which is causing my shoulders to spin out at the top, whereas the first drill in this video very quickly demonstrates the correct way to rotate the hips. I can’t wait to take this to the range. Thanks Danny!

I've had the same exact issues that you've outlined here...this is a GREAT drill and completely changed my take on rotation.
This is my favorite rotation backswing and forward swing drill with comments on when to put pressure on your toe and heel. I have been practicing this drill over and over and has helped me greatly from not swaying and over rotating my body. Love all your tips. Stay safe and healthy.

I've been binging your videos since I came home from the range yesterday. I've had low back/hip issues for years, and find getting a good rotation to be difficult. After this video, I've learned I've been forcing my body to do all the things this video is trying to cure. Actively trying to twist my hips for rotation, probably sliding too lol. My wife is just starting out, and I think her and I will benefit from starting from scratch with our swings. I've never had the same swing twice in 30 yrs of golf. Realizing that less is likely more when it comes to finding a consistent swing. Thanks for all you do!

For those having trouble with this if you are a right handed golfer turn your chin slightly towards the target. Chin should hit left shoulder on the back swing.. What you will notice is more compact swing and Mr. Maude's rotation concept. You will hit the ball farther and with more accuracy. It's crazy how simple golf can become if you have a simple detailed concept to repeat a good swing.

Hi Danny, greetings from Malaysia.
All these years of playing I have been having the problem of swaying in my swing trying to "shift my weight" back and through. Having seen your video I realized there is no such thing as "shifting my weight" but instead it should have been applying the correct "pressure" or "force" on the back and front foot in the swing.
A few days ago I happened to watch a UA-cam video from Mike Malaska a golf teacher from the US, he said the same thing about this and he quoted what Tiger who told him that the only thought Tiger has during the back swing is to "push his hip as deep as possible". He never once mentioned the need to "rotate" his hips or "shift his weight". Now it all make sense to me.
At the moment we are having a MCO (Movement Control Order) here in Malaysia until the 14th of April so golf or any other sports/outdoor activities are not allowed. I guess I just need to wait before trying out your instructions given. Thanks again for this great light bulb moment. Cheers.

This drill took so many unnecessary thoughts out of my swing I can't begin to tell you. This is such a simple drill that makes huge improvements. I can not believe I have never seen anyone teach this. I was doing everything you said by thinking I had to rotate and clear my hips and remember to get good shoulder turn and would over turn or under turn one or the other, and now that simple drill eliminated all my crazy hooks and slices. My contact is so consistent and no more standing there going where did that shot come from. I line up and the ball goes where my line is pointed. Hands down for me, and I am sure so many others, this is game changing. Now when I line up at the green I hit the green. I no longer consider the sand on the right or water on the left. My only thought now is, am I playing the right or left side or going straight at the pin. Can't thank you enough.

First time writing a comment after watching dozens of golf videos. Just tried this on the range and after about 5 minutes of awkward feeling swings (my left leg kept feeling locked on the downswing until I stopped forcing the “move back” so harshly) I had my best range session throughout the bag in a very long time time. So simple and can’t wait to try it on the course. Loved seeing the repeatable ball flight (straight or a little draw). Thank you!

Hey Danny thanks. I had recently started to whip my right hip through with the feeling of meeting the ball at the same time as my club head. Thought I was getting more power, consistency.. however after 2 longish practice sessions I was left with a very sore right hip. So your talking of ignoring the hips is a very positive idea for a 63 year old golfer.
yes and getting the right hip into early can get the club head thrown over the top causing a slice. Look after yourself Declan

Danny you are the best. Turning the golf swing into a throwing motion and your rotation drills are so helpful. You need to have a lesson about just the right shoulder for us amateurs. When I watch your fantastic full swings, i noticed that your right shoulder goes back and up around your spine
angle, but only goes down on the downswing. The only forward motion is because it is going
under your chin. the feeling is almost leaving it at the top. Most of us less than perfect swingers,
because we are older and less flexible swing slightly from the top or a lot over the top. When I picked up on this with your swing and throwing motion lessons, I just try to not move my right shoulder at all from the top and that thought naturally moves my shoulder just down and my arms and wrist move beautifully
into the slot position. I think you need a lesson about the right shoulder for us not to bright golfers. Once I used this swing thought, ever thing clicked and worked great with all your fantastic lessons. Thank you.
Danny, this drill helped me immensely. I have been struggling with my iron game - hitting non-stop shanks. I’ve taken lessons and spent hours on the range but nothing was helping. I watched this video last night and applied it at the range right before my round today. I didn’t hit a single shank and actually hit 9 greens in regulation. I am relieved and excited to hone it in at the range this week. Thank you so much!

If you focus on allowing the feet and legs to do the work as you describe here, the hands, arms and club unit will passively whip the club head through impact with little to no effort on your part. Danny, I am a 73 year Brit living in the USA who makes his living coaching race car drivers so I am super interested in the teaching side of golf. I started playing when I turned 40 and have played 33 years of inconsistent golf, with my default swing being to "come over the top". I won a super senior tournament a few weeks ago at my home course Wyantenuck in MA USA, both gross and net with an 82 from the middle tees. Then in another recent tournament I had a 109 on the same course! Grr! My friends and I have been following you and practising using your videos as our guide. I can honestly say that the Best Rotation Drill has cured me, as I haven't come over the top once in my last 7 rounds, and that never happens normally, thank you, thank you, I can now sleep at night

This redefines my concept of rotating in the golf swing. I have some time to practise this while it's fresh in my mind. Thanks! I get more out of your videos than any other UA-cam golf instruction clips. As a senior golfer it really helps. Also, as a left handed golfer, I really like when you refer to your "trail" foot and front foot as opposed to right and left, which I then have to transpose in my head. Danny, this video was transformational to my game today. The way you demonstrated what the typical slicer’s upper body movement was like was me to a T. The leg movement, inducing rotation, sounded simple and I tried it.... Perfect! Not only did it help me keep my balance on the follow-through to a complete finish but I was striking the ball better than ever... on the fairway... need to sort the greens out now 😂 Managed to get me round in a gross 77 in very strong winds (off 10, par 69). I have just found this video and wow. I have developed an ever worsening sway on my backswing and a lunge onto a bent left leg on my follow through. I got down to 7.7 but my handicap is on the way back up. I simply put my difficulties down to a stiff back rather than poor technique. Danny thank you so much for this advice. It has immediately pulled me back to the correct technique. I am 56 and I see a lot of my friends struggling. I will be sharing your video with all of them. It also feels less stressful on my back so it's a double whammy of help. Needless to say I have subscribed. Great stuff.

Im 68 and play to low 20's and only about twice a month and didnt start playing golf until i was 50 so always struggled. Anyway im due to play Princes on sat and so went to driving range to practice mid week and was appauling so trawled the internet desperate to get a few tips. After watching your video 'All in the feet' i wasnt convinced until i tried it out on the range and was amazed how simple and easy it felt, i was hitting a wedge aroung 110yds and my 7 iron 150/160 carry, it just felt so natural and very little swing thoughts, so going into sat quietly confident i wont lose to many balls. I have been struggling with back/down swing all summer and absolutely knew it was back/down swing related issue, but I didn't know how to fix it. I watched your video and knew your video was the answer! I was using significant hip rotation and getting out of alignment every time I'd swing. There are several instructors I follow on youtube and they all teach the same thing as far as the hips go, but this was the video that really made it click for me by getting me to stop thinking about deliberately rotating my hips and thinking about pressure in a cause and effect action.

Danny, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I am a 4 handicap with a homemade swing. My short game saves me a lot! But ive tried hundreds of hip drills, swing drills etc on UA-cam and haven't had much luck. After I stumbled on this video, I've gained 25 plus yards on my drives. 240-250 to 260-275. (Hopefully increasing more when I get it perfected). Ive been rotating my hips instead of thinking straight line like your video. Such a game changer . My ball flight and impact for irons are incredible now. Best explanation of what the hips are really doing. Sorry but I'm not sharing this with my buddies tho. Gonna make them keep buying me dinner .

I've watched just about every golf improvement video there is out there.
No one makes it more simple and straightforward as your videos.
This video and the video you show on the take away keeping the left wrist from breaking too early has given my brain only a couple of things to think about
And put simply, I've never hit the ball so well. I practice in a room just big and tall enough for a full swing hitting off an old carpet into an old mattress.
So still able to get as much in as possible during lockdown.
Personally I think if I paid a tutor to get to how I hit the ball right now, I would have shed out thousands.

This is an absolute gem Danny. I have been struggling for 30 years on how to keep my head still and for the very first time realize it’s all in the weight transfer between the two feet . I have seen all your drills from your effortless swing videos and I just love the one on heel to toe and toe to heel especially the one standing in the two unstable pads. I have spent thousands of dollars in my golf swing and not a single teacher has managed to explain to me how to stay centred in the weight transfer. Another good video, never realized this, I will try this immediately, especially how you explained how golfers hook the ball; my nemesis. I am now a senior golfer and have loss some flexibility.

Danny, this is the best golf advice I have had in my 20 years of golf. My lower back pain was gradually getting worse and worse after each round and last season I could hardly play at all. By using this technique I can go 18 holes with almost no back pain and because I strike the ball much cleaner it has also added distance to both irons and clubs. Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻😎😎

Can’t thank you enough for this! “Accelerator Pedals,” such an incredibly simple feel. I have been struggling for too long with the turns. First a hook, then I correct with a slice. My favorite part, is I won’t be cluttered up mentally with swing thoughts. I will work on this and let you know how it goes.

I watch the videos but don’t seem to carry info onto the golf course. Finally asked my wife to video me playing on the course. It was a slow day on a mountain course so, no delaying others. She took about about 12 to 15 videos . I was shocked and somewhat embarrassed at my execution of basics set up, backswing, and balance and tempo. The next day I played much better, hit straighter, longer, and enjoyed the round so much better. Strongly recommend videos to compare personal improvement!!! Danny, great lesson, I've enjoyed so many of your videos, all have made improvements to my game but this one made the greatest difference so far! It's amazing how this simple advice corrects years of improper swing mechanics; I've had to club down on all my irons because my distance (and aim) has simply improved so much and so effortlessly! Cheers Danny, it’s really works find, now my swing is quite consistent. I would say it’s the best and simplest drill on swing~ one more question is: my right knee need keep straight or bend at the top of back swing? (while keeps the weight on heel)

I'm 51 years old and not very flexible. Your "Best Rotation Drill" has helped me immensely get the turn I need. This has improved my confidence and I'm hitting the ball longer and straighter.

I saw this at 1pm today. I went to the range at 2pm today. WOW. Simple instruction with phenomenal results. I always have 3-5 swing thoughts when hitting and it's hit or miss depending on what swing thought overpowers the other. With this simple method, only one swing thought (and soon it'll become natural = 0 swing thoughts) but it worked! Hitting straighter and cleaner than ever! Now to take it on the course! Thanks!!!!
Danny, Thanks for all of the great content. I love the way you try to make everyone "feel" what a good swing is for each of us and knowing we will all have different swings. I've had the 'light bulb' moment w/ how you explained the linear movement of the lower body. I have been hitting my irons with much more confidence. Now I look forward to the Par 3 and long approach shots. Keep up the great work!

Hey Danny, I love your simple, yet detailed, instruction of everything you teach. I have already seen improvement in my ball striking from your other videos.
