    2. Leaves seat in classroom or in other situations in which remaining seated is expected.
    3. Runs about or climbs excessively in situations in which it is inappropriate (in adolescents or adults, may be limited to subjective feelings of restlessness).
    4. Has difficulty playing or engaging in leisure activities quietly.

I found your channel through TikTok, and I'm so glad I did! I've found it so hard to find quality content on adhd. I always knew I had it since both of my parents do. I'm 24 now, diagnosed at 16, started medication at 19, I seem to be a combination of both, leaning on the inattentive side. I had brain scans done when I was diagnosed, my psych at the time showed me the scans and explained I had "ring of fire adhd" shown as an actual ring of red on the scans, he said I had a "hot head" 😆 since then I've tried to find studies on it, there's so little out there!

I was diagnosed in February this year as "Predominantly Inattentive Presentation" scoring 8 out of 9, but I also scored all the impulsive criteria (4 out of 4) but since I have no hyperactive criteria, I can't be Combined type. So I'm Inattentive/Impulsive, which messes with people's heads but there you go!

I was diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD in my mid-thirties. It explained so much.
It also turns out my Dad likely also had ADHD, though he was never formally diagnosed. His ADHD symptoms became more noticeable to me and others once his Parkinson's disease really kicked in though. He used to work in military intelligence though, which makes sense, because it's a high pressure job where quick thinking is required.
The interesting thing for me though, is OCD also runs in my family. So sometimes, once I get going on something, where my ADHD would kick in due to boredom, my OCD will kick in and I just can't stop, until I get it completed to perfection. This OCD isn't always guaranteed to kick in for me though. 😂

Was diagnosed with combined at 30 😅 but two years on meds and a lot of therapy to remind me of my toolbox that I’ve found made things a bit easier for me not to forever feel “behind” 😊 things are looking up.I love your channel!!!

8 out of 9 on inattentive, 0 out of 9 on hyperactive. People sometimes have a hard time believing I have ADHD because "you're always so relaxed and calm"

    So this is interesting.
I was diagnosed 4 years ago. And my family was immediately dismayed at how they didn't recognize it for the 35 yrs of my life prior. It made perfect sense.
Then I got hit my a car the following year, while riding my bicycle. Suffered a severe concussion that required extensive ongoing Neurofeedback treatments to even function again. (As in, to even be able to dress and feed myself...let alone return to my Engineering degree with Honors i had been almost ready to graduate from prior.)
Lately it seems like the ADHD medication makes me MORE impulsive. MORE forgetful, anxious, unable to finish tasks.... irritable. Figidy.
And things I hear about ppl with ADHD struggling with don't feel like they fit my demeanor anymore without medication.
    So I took the test.
    I have * 5 * of each category.
What the hell does THAT mean😂

The primary symptom of ADHD is executive function disorder. I think the lack of understanding in this (largely a result of the name of the disorder) is a big reason why so many people with the disorder go undiagnosed. The name is also a big reason why so many children are overdiagnosed. I imagine that many people who are diagnosed incorrectly did not see an ADHD specialist and instead just went to a general practitioner or a psychologist who does not specialize in ADHD who assumed incorrectly that they knew enough to make a diagnosis.

My mum was told when I was younger that I may have adhd but I was never diagnosed but I have got worse as I've got older but reading and ticking it off I think I might have combined but most so for the inattentive 🥰 but I have an appointment with someone soon to talk about what's been going on so they can tell me if I have it or not 🥰

  • @njay6494

I'm not sure honestly. Because I might have combined. At the same time I think I have the inattentive. But I don't think so because I have insomnia, I'm overweight, and I don't exercise a lot. Its weird. I do think that I have it combined tho. Because I do tend to fidget a lot. I wouldn't be able to stand still. But at the same time, I would be very lazy, and I can be very unproductive. All people with hyperactive ADHD and combined can be like that.
*I don't know what the heck I have*

I was proved I was inattentive ADHD when I was small, but I reckon I maybe combined (incline to inattentive)ADHD.
Btw. The doctor said my ADHD symptoms is not too severe, it may be the comorbidity of ASD😢
