    I love Mossberg shotguns. I love my 500 590 and shockwave. I need a Maverick 88 to complete the family. lol

    I already have a maverick with the top folding stock, a mossberg Shockwave, and I recently just bought a maverick in the FDE and full stock. I love these guns

      This is my first foray into the Maverick Mossberg style. Was into the Remington 870 style. The Mav 88 is excellent, I would try out others like you said without question.

    I bought My Mav 88 3years ago. I swapped the synthetic stock and forearm grip to a Vintage Mossberg 500 80's retro walnut stock with corn cobb forearm. After a day of shooting slugs and buckshot. It's helped calm the recoil significantly, I have the Same heat shield as you I prefer it to the metal one, it kept sliding down the barrel after a day of shooting. The polymer shield hasn't budged after hundreds of Bird and buck shot. Your shotgun looks cool. Good video.

      oh thank you ... yeah I would love to do what you did and will if I get the wood stock and forearm in wood. Such a good price for these spending for extra things on it is fine with me.

    I just picked up the same gun.. gonna have to get the stock shell holder because the cheap ones that fit over them work, but they move around wayyy too much. A year is plenty of time to get good with firearms for sure, take care.

I wanted a shotgun for home defense and didn't want to buy another shotgun I have a few shotguns so i cut down the maverick to 19 inches added skateboard tape to the pump put esstac velcro shotgun sleeves and it's running a light on it I don't remember which one plus it has a magpul stock and a paracord sling

    • @megatrends

    Had one just like yours but in black, and an 18.5" one with a bird heads grip I turned into a ghetto shockwave. Gave both of them to my dad and I currently have all 590's now. However... i did go to a local pawn shop and picked up a 7+1 mossberg 500 for $200. It helped it was covered in dust and had been there for 6 months. It had a cheap ATI heatshield on it that I took off and I replaced the warn out stock and handguard for a hogue set. Both are great shotguns.

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  2 роки тому

      I'm going to buy an ATI Strikeforce tactical stock for it like I did for my Mini 14. Great product and you can get folding stock or "regular" tactical adjustable stock. That is another benefit of these shotguns is they are pretty basic and easily changeable, then at any time you can go back if that mood suits you for old style stock.

    Where can I find accessories for my 88

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  2 роки тому

      I would check out Midwest Gunworks for pistol grip butt stocks which are also adjustable stocks in a tactical style made by ATI so check the ATI website. I can't leave links as UA-cam doesn't allow it. It is ATI Outdoors dott commmm. Parts and accessories that fit the Mossberg 500 will for the most part fit this shotgun except the trigger group as far as I know.

So far I have scuffed the stock up, I got the FDE and also the receiver has taken a few digs but I am just seeing a bunch of scratches along the side and top of the receiver but probably from being bumped around and not kept in a case, I will say it's pretty smooth action wise, I've been keeping up with the cleanings after each use and been racking the hell out of her in the evenings lol

      Yeah, firearms scratch easily unless stainless and even then those do as well.
      I have all firearms in cases which does present a storage problem after a while when you get to a hundred or so. Currently making a locked safe room in the house. Sealing up a window and going to install shelving in a heavy duty bolted locked security door.

I’m thick chested and I’m sure that is what’s causing the problem. But basically everybody is different physically and not every firearm is comfortable for everyone so there’s no right or wrong way to do this. It’s one of those social media things were people have to chime in based upon their own personal physical condition rather than looking at someone else’s.
