Thank you for the helpful information! One thing I like about Champion is that they're local to everyone. Just contact your nearest office for availability of nearby units.
According to their website, and FAQ video, Villa Homes are currently only available to set up in parts of CA. I was unable to find a single Villa Prefab Home on the Champion website. The Villa Homes website says they are built at the Champion factory, but it appears they are only sold by Villa Homes.
I'm with you on the second model. Nice little home. Love the floor plan, and it's the perfect amount of space. Although I wasn't able to develop my 20 acres in the CA desert, due to lack of home installers, I haven't given up on my dream, which is why I follow along on what's new...that and Kerry is such a great guy. I will sell my current home in a heartbeat, if, or when things change. It better happen fast, I'm 61, and would like to see this dream come true, while I'm still physically able to enjoy it. Thanks Kerry! ❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎🐕
Kerry, you always make me laugh. (Taco Tuesday) heh Anyway, the houses look great, but if you cover them again, I would like to hear some details about their construction, insulation, resistance to hurricanes, etc. Thanks for the video.
Kerry keeps consistent in his formula because he's scared to venture out and lose momentum. Just waiting for him to plateau a bit to try better content like that or even Livestream building perfect ones
They're customizable so you can upgrade what you need to according to your specific location. And like the beginning of the video states, these specific units are only available in California at the moment.
I'll try to find the 400 sq ft floor plan online, as those are all way too big for this retired single gal. Perfect for families, though! Re: your honey bear - just heat up some water in a tall bowl, about 30 seconds in the microwave, and set your honey bear down in the water in the bowl, on the counter, for about 10-15 min. The honey crystals will soften enough to pour the honey again without ruining your bear. 😊😊😊
Kerry I really appreciate your presentation format, excellent information and most importantly weekly laughs. Keep the one liners and humorous insights coming!
These are great options.I really hope they can expand and have some of these homes made/delivered to the mid of the states like New Mexico, Texas and such. I great enjoy watching you share your findings and help us identify options and point of view of manufactured homes (aka mobile homes). Keep up the awesome job Kerry!
The high living room ceiling with raised windows is an unique feature. Like how the roofline is designed so no V to collect snow, leaves, etc. The exterior roof is all down sloping. It would be helpful included some details on insulation (R values) and type of windows included (in general for all prefabs). Comfort and energy efficiency are almost as important as looks.
In Florida prefab homes big and small are popping up everywhere. The old trailer parks are converting over from mobile home’s to tiny homes resorts. Mostly due to hurricanes
Maybe on Tuesday if you make sure it's real beef in the tacos, omit the onions and cut the amount of hot sauce in half, it won't bother your delicate system as much. 😏😉😂
Taco Tuesday or no gallbladder: pork ribs game day! 🚽x2 is welcome, and needed. Thanks, I too like the white/ black trim. The models shown are nice. Thanks 👍🏻. 🥶🖤🔔👍❤️
Any chance you could do another video about the Roombus smart house? Those were what I've been interested in but the company has been radio silent and I'm unsure if they are even actually coming out or not.
An eleven month timeframe, isn't that about the same time as a traditional build? @4:15, I like that the kitchen and dining room are on different sides, but I would want at least a partial wall so that the kitchen is not immediately on view from the front door. Taco Tuesdays 😂😂😂 Stop eating crap, Kerry. @6:57, it would make a spacious home for those wanting a smaller house. Eliminate the third bedroom and redistribute the space to make the remaining two bigger along with the living room. @7:22, I don't care for the kitchen, but I don't like the Shaker style or knobs. @7:39, wall off that kitchen (non-American here who does not understand the mania to have the kitchen on show to one and all).
Champion is a great company that I’ve been following on Instagram for some time. The Villas look great. 👍 I personally like the three bedroom option and not just because of the extra space. The colors both interior and exterior really pop to me. 😍 Taco Tuesday rules. 🌮 Great update. Congrats on the sponsorship. Keep up the great work Kerry. 😎
1926 the modern mobile home was invented.... All these are version of that.... Nothing really gets done until City Zoning codes are updated.... Tiny homes are essentially better designed pull trailers .... Again, there are all beautiful, but mean little if the code so NOT allow 🚫 them in your backyard or your vacant lot
These are stick built homes assembled in a factory, and can be bolted down on a concrete slab, just like a site built home. Zoning laws may still consider them modular/manufactured homes, but they are not by definition mobile homes.
@@mjbusmc Correct, city codes need an upgrade to allow homes that are “Mobile” to be permanent at a location for at least 10-years before moving… Which 80% of mobile home Never move once they are placed…. Quality builds are important, but basic building with an affordable $700 a month lease 1-bedroom is where the future can be with one of these … Homes leases will be the future And will look similar to this: 1) $900 2-bed 2 bath 800 sqft 2) 5-year leases minimum 3) $8,500 Down Owner pays $100K tops and leases these out for 40-years at $10,000 cash flow every 12-months When Government/ Non profits start doing this that will be a game changer
"Finally" is an exaggeration. Prefab isn't a new idea in California. There are communities in California that were constructed of prefab homes before California changed its building codes. My sister lives in one immediately south of the property of Camp Pendleton in Oceanside. It's a lot larger than most of the ones reviewed in this channel, but because of its age, imo, not nearly as nice or well-built.
Welp, another builder with potential, but still leaves a lot to be desired; the time factor is a biggie, many homes in my area of western NY can be put up in a fraction that time, and of course the prices are CA prices...which *may* be a good thing for the rest of us...since CA home prices are off-the-charts obnoxious. Here, home prices have remained stable-ish, low-ish (relatively speaking), but of course were hit with the Bidenflation hard, increasing all prices substantially that have not come back down. But if the CA prices reflect the CA market...the price should be much more reasonable here. And I'd love to know what that price would be, here in west NY. Cheers.
Thanks for the video on Wolf Industries Modulars, Battle Ground, WA. It's the first builder that is actually affordable. They also do all the site work as well. I'm guessing their prices are low because they don't farm out their homes to various builders across the country, they have a factory. I'm going to tour the factory soon. You should go with me!
Thanks for the info... where I live (interior Alaska) we have some special needs in any home... such as higher insulation (R values), cold roofs (to prevent ice dams), and we have forest fires, so fire resistant needed. So I have also been looking at ICF construction options. But if I could find a prefab multi floor option to fit my 5 acre lot I would defiantly consider it if it fit the above criteria needed for our climate and location.
Hmmm. Definitely a different look (and quality?) compared to Cover. You mentioned videos about California-based prefabs are popular. Maybe make a playlist featuring CA based prefabs? Would be super helpful!

Why no do now ?
Why not recruit the kids and grandkids to build a home yourself out of adobe or rammed earth?

Champion Home Builders has 4-5 manufacturing locations in Texas alone. You can have these made and delivered in NM and TX already.

I grew up in a split bedroom house, so it is difficult to want a house with back-to-back bedrooms. Nice houses though.
Fair enough! Thanks for tuning in 😃
The siding makes these prefabs look cheap like mobile homes. That could be remedied with galvalume or another metal siding.

The architectural design - or the lack of it - is very uninspiring and pedestrian. These look like DIY garage conversions.

Huh, I live right near Woodland. Crazy. $100-180 grand sounds low...if someone gives you free land to put it on.

I think having 2 bathrooms is mandatory in a 2 bedroom. May be make 1 bathroom for just doing 1 and 2.
so these can run you up half a mill with the land, not quite affordable but they look great
