  • Hurricane resistant Prefab Homes are available in the United States right now. Two of the most requested items requested in the comments of my channel are homes available on the East Coast and homes that will hold up in extreme weather. Today I am happy to announce that I found a company that cover both. Steel Homes Modular is a Florida based Prefab Home company building steel frame modular homes that hold up in 178mph winds. In this video I look at who they are, what they offer and where people can get one. Watch and learn more about Steel Homes Modular and their modern steel frame modular homes.

I got their price list. It starts from $144,200 for 1400sqft 3 bedroom 2 bathroom.
The highest price is $269,600 for 5bedroom 4 bathroom 2520sqft
The one in the thumbnail of this video costs $161,900 and it's 1557sqft.
    Feel free to pin this

Just watched this a few hours ago and I was like “WHATT, on Miami!?!?” That’s where I stay… looked it up immediately and I drove down there… it’s in the industrial side of Opa-locka… and I just got out of the place. large facility and though they were about to close Jennifer received me and my wife with no appointment. She explained how they work and their payment structure… (General contractor required) a bit pricey but these are turn key ready… we say their outside model and this was just a dream… exactly what me and the wife are looking for… and your right… the have a BUNCH of different models in their catalog. They asked how did I hear about them and I told them and showed them your you tube channel… They laughed and now knew why they been having such high call volume in the past day or so… Kerry… thank you so much for the on-site as this is literally only 25 minutes from my home!!! Your the best and keep them videos coming!!!

How much did they quote you?
I've seen some negative comments online about the general contractor related things about this company.
All I'm trying to figure out is at the end of the day, how much would it cost to go ahead with this company; vs just the traditional way of building the houses.

    • @franklinsantiago4353
      @franklinsantiago4353 Рік тому +2

@@sarpkaya1786 well… she didn’t quote me a specific amount but more like a range… 110,000 to 160,000. And they did say that they do not sell directly to the public but only to a general contractor of there’s or your own. All units come fully finished except with the appliances. And the turn around time is 6-8 weeks. Everything is built at the factory including the inspection.

Kerry, Thank You Thank You Thank YOU !! Formosan Termites are all over the northern gulf of mexico and coming to a theater near you Soon. They are a horror show. The colonies are hundreds of times the size of terrestrial termites and they FLY in, so no ground treatment helps. They eat the house, the book shelves and the books! I am not joking. A patient of mine brought in just such a book after her home was demolished by the bugs. No insurance covers the loss.
Steel or concrete are the only way to go now, at least in this area. I saw a 5 year old home get eaten recently.
This steel is wonderful. THANK YOU KERRY !!

I've been building with them for the last 5 years, it's an incredible product it's giving me and my team flexibility to look for additional lots to continue construction. Their professionalism and product is above any in the industry. They are the real deal incredible family business. I've built the Rose, the Sunflower, the Lily and the Sunflower duplex. They've all worked incredibly for me. My final completion once the homes arrives is between 30 to 45 more days to get the final C.O.
Once you're hooked you can't build any other way. For me it's been less stress seamless and streamline. Would highly recommend them.

I like the first one, these are really a good idea. They take the Manufatured Home or Double wide and turn it into one better that stick built. They are probably manufacturing the tiny homes as well. Even a 500 is good size. I owned a home that was 660 ft, 2 bedroom, 1 bath from the 1920s. That house was really bult well, it had even been moved and had no way to tell it. I REALLY like that they recycle metal from Cars. Sustainable all away around.

Those are really nicely sized kitchens! If you have to live somewhere, you don't want cooking to be any more of a trial than necessary, and a lot of smaller homes ignore the need for cabinets/pantry space, as well as prep space, not cluttered with things like coffee makers. You need space to put your daily-use stuff.

I have been looking for quite some time for different systems.... Container homes, domes, modular. This company makes sense - will have to see the prices.... There is another company in Florida, called American Ingenuity. They sell concrete domes for assembly. Hurricane and tornado resistant. I drove two hours to see the factory. I like their reputation and ethics. They have been in business for decades. They sell the kits for assembly on site. *PLEASE consider doing a video on them*. Glenda is a straight shooter, no-nonsense, old school (in a good sense) decent business owner.,..

thats why in the caribbean when you hear hurricane resistant house you hear about concrete construction

Sooo I live in miami and have a few properties that I wanted make additions on. I worked with steel modular for about a year (live close to their factory) At first it seems all roses and bubbles until you dig deeper. years ago they were averaging about $100/sq. ft. now its about 150. however the addition costs after the purchase is what took me out. 1.A GC is needed to install everything and prep the site. 2. Shipping costs are paid for by the buyer. 3. Steel prices fluctuate in the futures market however they do a good job at keeping hikes to a minimum,. Only thing I would recommend is if you already have land in SOUTH FLORIDA then it could be worth it. All Steel modular really brings to the equation is time. They can have a unit done in a matter of months if you have land. If not , it will take over a year considering they now have orders from real home builders. crazy how fast they have grown.

Keep these coming. I'm in FL and definitely interested in homes built for hurricanes. These designs weren't my favorite, but I'm looking for a 3-4 bd anyway.
Just need some pricing to see if they are in the ballpark of regular construction out here.

They are building similar hurricane/ typhoon resistant prefab home in SE Asia. The Philippines is one such nation. As a matter of fact exteriors look similar to these American built homes. Like in Florida Asia has termites to deal with as well. Costs are less than conventional builds too. In PI homes come to build site via flat bed then assembled on site. Package options include prewired for electric, cable, internet. Other options AC, water heater, kitchen, and bathroom styles.

There are many factors to consider, but a Cat 5 hurricane does not exist alone. Flooding, tornadoes, gusts, etc. No one, no one should think they should not evacuate on a cat 5. And as a famous commedian once said, it's not that the wind is blowing, it's what the wind is blowing.
They should build more homes shaped in a circle.
