SR 35018 Slips and Slides into Hellifield on the Pendle Dalesman 27/9/22.

SR 35018 British India Line was the motive power for the latest Pendle Dalesman of 2022 from Lancaster to Carlisle via Hellifield over the famous Settle & Carlisle line .We see 35018 early doors leaving Carnforth with the empty stock just as the sun started to rise and a few minutes later at Hest Bank Crossing. The next shot sees 35018 slipping around the curve into Hellifield .The next shot sees BIL at Taitlands Tunnel and the next bridge further North. The return had the possibility of 35018 passing 70000 Britannia around Garsdale but sadly they passed Dent . Thanks to Nige for the afternoon lift and company in the morning .

Thanks John , came to the conclusion that a Hellifield shot would see 35018 struggle around the bend and as seeing I’ve only seen this location once before I was pleased with the results 👍

A bit of work for the crew at Hellifield Steve seen from a good vantage point but they overcame the difficulties. Cool temperature giving some good exhaust. You could have been in luck at Garsdale but not to be this time. Take care - Chris
