Green Light To Hellifield.

The line from Bamber Bridge on the East Lancashire Line and the line from Blackburn on the Ribble Valley Railway both head towards Hellifield so I have put together footage from various locations along both lines .there are two climbs of note with the 1in 101 to the summit at Houghton and the 1 in 73 to Wilpshire summit so crews and locos are tested .Locos featured are 60009 Union of South Africa , 70000 Britannia, 46115 Scots Guardsman , 46233 Duchess of Sutherland, 45690 Leander ,48151,61994 The Great Marquess, 70013 Oliver Cromwell,45699 Galatea ,Black fives 44871,45407 ,45305 and 45231 . Apologies for the misspelling of Hoghton on the title description as I put Houghton .

'B' for 'bucolic'! That shot from about 1:00 of 46233 hauling 12 cars (with the seventh car possibly having 'flats') was beautiful. Classic UK steam travel!
