My Holistic Morning Routine

  • Hi Fam! Today we’re diving into my current morning routine that helps me prepare my body, mind, & soul for the day! This one is especially for you if you feel like your morning routine hasn’t really been sticking or you feel like you can’t have your ideal morning routine because you live with other people, or family, etc.
    The sections of my morning routine:
    ✨Mindfulness: meditation, breathwork, silence
    ✨Reflection: journaling, voice notes/ stream of consciousness
    ✨Soul Enrichment: listening to an uplifting podcast, talk, or video, reading a book or spiritual/motivational/inspirational text

    With 2 young kids, sticking to a few morning rituals/routines is key to starting the day on a positive note. I always get up and get myself ready for the day (brush teeth, wash face/apply moisturizer, get dressed), drink a large mason jar of lemon water, prepare my decaf cup of coffee, and try to sit down and relax before I rush into anything else. This allows my body to slowly wake up (including my bowels) before I prepare breakfast for myself and my kiddos. Some days I also find a few minutes to stretch, which also helps me feel more energized and alive. It is easier for me to fit in things that nurture my mind in the evening, such as reading or writing in my journal. The time after my kids are in bed is a time of calm when I can think clearly.

    What time do you wake up and go to sleep? I try to do as much as I can in the morning but I struggle sacrificing my sleep.

      since my routine isn't toooo long, i dont need to wake up as early. i'd recommend giving yourself a good 20 minutes to start in the morning which means you would just need to start winding down 20 min earlier!

      depends! about 15-20 minutes or 30 if i want to slow it down haha
