Stihl is a Def when cutting wet, I also use a large honda which I use during the summer when it is a bit dryer. I also have a honda with roller which I get out occasionally and a honda Izzy for small gardens and a second hand really small honda which I use on postage stamp lawns. All the best keep mowing.
Thank you very much for the comment. As for the pointers, I think I'm definitely going to go with a Stihl. These seem to be the best overall and they seem to fit my work style of getting the job done.
Good choice if you get one with the single bar going to the handle, check the tightness of the screw where it folds occasionally I put mine on its side to clean and the handle dropped off and the bits went everywhere.
👍
Top man
Harley. Stihl is a great all rounder, I run the RM650V. Great in the dry, great in the damp, decent in light to moderate wet not so great in the proper wet. But most mowers struggle in that. Honda IZY is fairly decent in the conditions but not quite as good as Stihl. Weibang are in my opinion the best mower for a similar price in all conditions especially the wet but must have the high lift blade! But another but, Weibang is heavy and not quite as comfortable to use as Stihl. So my compromise is the Stihl, plus I really rate my local dealer.
Thanks for the comment. I'll have to do a little bit more research and have a look. But thanks for the pointers, they really do help. I do like the look of the Honda. Is it if i'm honesty. I'm just not sure they can cut in a wet!
Definitely a Stihl I have had a Stihl rm for 3 years now never let me down 5 days a week for 3 years and is Still going strong also there the lightest on the market
The comments section is definitely in favor of Stihl. Some are definitely going to be using one of their mowers as a couple. With that, with my local dealership supporting Stihl, it would make sense.
@@HDGardenCare for me it was the weight of the Izzy though a very good mower it was far heavier than the Stihl and when you're using it all day you definitely notice the difference
Honda engines are bulletproof man. And very easy to service and repair yourself if needed 👍🏽
Thank you very much for your comment, mate. The comments seem to be in favor of Stihl, to be honest. Also, with local dealer support being Stihl, it would make sense for me to go with them. But I haven't made my decision yet. So who knows? Thanks for your comment.
Yeah I get that. If I was rich I’d go Stihl everything, but then would worry me about any parts or repairs etc 😂 have a good’n mate!
I have a Stihl and is fantastic in the wet, I went rear roller and I love it 😊
Thanks for your advice. I'll be looking into my options more and making a proper decision. But like you and others have said, I think the Stihl is the way to go.
I would say your def in my top 3 gardeners to watch on you tube. You deserve alot more views and subscribers!
I really appreciate the kind words and support, my friend. It really does mean a lot. Have a great week.
Hi Harley cracking work mate pleased to see your still going strong mate 💪🏼
Thank you, Pete. I really do appreciate that. How are you keeping mate.
Stihl mower 👍🏼👍🏼 without a doubt
I'll do more research and come to a conclusion. However, you can't seem to go wrong with the Stihls!
Get a Honda Izzy if you want a small workhorse. Other than that Stihl 545 or 650 4 wheeled or roller
Well, this confirms my thinking because that's what the machines are going to opt for. Thank you very much for the comment.
Hello pal what’s your advice on hedge trimming laws during nesting season
My honda izy does ok in the wet if the bag is kept clean, been going strong for 5 seasons its just a push one so its lighter to get in the truck on my own , i do hammerite the inside of the deck every winter to stop the deck rotting i have other mowers woth rollers ect but thats the one that gets most use in small medium gardens.
And that's the reason I'm looking at it because it just seems like it would be the perfect fit for me. I don't really do any large lawns. All my lawns are small to medium-sized.
Fantastisch Good work Harley you the best te famely te House te natuur best friend Top weekend thans 🚚👍⛅💯✔️☕🎽🧢🌳🌿🌾
Thanks!
Hayter harrier 41 pro I use bought in 2019 I’ve just today replaced drive sprocket only thing I’ve spent on it in 5 years £48 ish
I'm not a fan of them, Hayter mowers, to be completely honest. They're heavy and useless in the wet. And for the price point, they're not worth it. I think there are much better alternatives, personally. I really do appreciate the comment, though. I really hope you enjoyed the video.
Nice work fella. Keep the content coming man. New subscriber and recently started watching your vids but it'll be good watching you progress and grow as a channel ;)
I appreciate the I hope you're enjoying the content! I'll document every step of the way!
For the mower do you want one with 4 wheels or roller? Blade brake clutch or pull start?
These are very good questions, and I am not considered any one of them. I just want something that's good for all-around use. Thank you for the comment. These are questions I do need to ask myself.
Hi mate if you want a gd mower try a 21inch cobra with Honda engine quite cheap & reliable & cheap on parts, stihl is a gd choice but u pay for the name, also think about a pa1 & pa6 spraying certificate especially if you are going into the commercial side of gardening all the best 👍
Thank you very much for the comment. However, the PA1 and PA 6 is something I will not be doing. I just do not see the point in this at all! I'll just stick to using products that are easily available.
I've used Hondas for years they are amazing mowers that will run for 30+ years but their downside is they are not brilliant in the wet and the self propelled is slightly on the slow side, but they are built to last, that being said, I now run a Stihl rear roller mower, they are amazing in the wet (the reason I got it ) and the self propelled pace is better too, if I could design a perfect mower it would have a Honda engine and build quality/materials for the deck, but the deck and box design of the Stihl to give it its wet weather supremacy.
Okay, so what you're saying is the Stihl will get the job done faster and do the job better in the wet. But you're going to be switching it out for a new one more often. I'll really want to go down the Stihl line to be honest. They seem to suit my work style of just getting in there and getting the job done!
Class video mate, looking to start up as well next April down in Poole. Taking notes and advice from every video learning from your mistakes so i dont have to. Keep it up!!!
Best of luck! Thanks for the comment. I hope I'm providing value
Izy is real slow pal it’s geared for nice cut but no good for wet weather or commercials , I get a b and q macalister it has 3 year warranty and light weight and a Honda one up from the Izzy. 21 inch check your local dealer they are around £450 .
Yes, to be honest, I think I'm going to stay away from the Honda. Did you know? I think I'm going to go for a Stihl RM650V. It's a little pricey here, and I'll have to wait a little longer before placing the order, but I think it'll be worth the wait.
I think the stihl would be a good choice, in the past i uesd a viking machine as made by stihl before they reebadged them. collection of wet long or dew soaked grass was very good.
In comparison to an etesia it was equal for collection of wet grass but a lighter build with more plastic.
One big advantage is being stihl the parts availability is readily there with multiple suppliers.
The comments are 60/40 in favor of Stihl, and after you pointed me in that direction, I think I will go with one. My local dealers are all Stihl, so I may take a trip down there to introduce myself in the next few weeks! What mower would you suggest from their lineup? My budget is around 600 to 800.
Thanks for the continued support and for sharing all your knowledge 🫡👊🍻
@@HDGardenCare a stihl rm 650 would fit the upper end of your budget and at 19 inches will work well on small aswell as bigger lawns. You can multch aswell and this is really usefull in dry spells as it saves the lawns burning up.
Plastic grass box so it won't tear like fabric and you can hose or brush it out at the end of each day.
What weedkiller do you use mate be thankful for the name cheers
I use round up. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Fantastisch Good work harley you te best te famey te natuur te House best fried Top weekend 🚚🪤🚜👍🌤🍹🌿🌾😅

Get your self a good graffter for digging out them shrubs so much easer
That would definitely help me out. Next time I am in Selco (the local builder’s merchants), I’ll see one, I will grab one for sure! Thanks for the comment.
Try welbang lawnmowers very good
A few people have said this now, and it's making me want to look into them for sure! Is there any module in particular that you would suggest?
I’ve always had Honda mowers and I’m looking to change to the ego new commercial mower, I’m filling the Honda up with petrol all day long it’s costing a fortune so moving to electric
Well, please let me know how that goes. Mate, I don’t think electric mowers can keep up in the commercial industry. However, if you find them to be adequate, please let me know.
Stihl mate! All day
The comments are about 60/40 in favor of Stihl, so I may go with one. It's just the bulkier plastic grass boxes that put me off with my tiny van. Do you think this would be an issue?
@HDGardenCare If you have to take your grass bag bag of your mower to fit it in then maybe, only difference is its rigid. We've had hyters, hondas and lawnflite and can honestly say the Stihl picks up 100% better in the wet and long grass. Seriously considering changing to all stihl mowers.
Hayters are great
Heavy and expensive for what you get, useless in the wet. It's not the best option, I don't think. I defo don't want a rear roller mower.
@@HDGardenCare Weibang is your friend then bud
Literally just a few days ago, I replaced my John Deere (Sabo) mulcher walk behind lawnmower with a Stihl RM 650 T.
Highly impressed with the Stihl lawnmower. The mono handle bar & single lever height adjustment make it very user-friendly. I can definitely attest to its grass collection abilities with damp grass. Fantastic mower. Glad I went with Stihl instead of anything else.
Thanks for sharing. It's definitely a Stihl or Honda. The Stihls look great, but I'm not a fan of the big plastic grass boxes. It seems like a small thing, but I've got a small van!
Honda engine is the only good thing about honda mowers, Ive stopped using them, Decks are terrible for rust, wheel bearings constantly wearing out, absolutely pish at wet collecting. Stihl much better design. Husqvarna lc247 also great at wet collection and composite deck so never rusts. Stihl 5 or 6 series probably better as an all round mower, depending on how much your planning to spend.
Thank you very much for the comment. There seems to be a general consensus of what people think, so I think I'm going to get the Stihl RM 650!
Alko mower cheap compared to sthil a d Honda and picks up well in the wet
I'll have a look into them, not a brand I've really heard much off.
You say not paying miles saves labour costs but simply out if you earn £200 a day and miles earns £200 a day and you pay him £110-120 a days you make £280/290 so it’s not costing you labour it’s making you money, also izy mowers are great machines for small to
Medium lawns up to an hour cut
I see where you're going with this comment, mate, but you've got to look at it over a longer period of time and average it out. How much could I earn on my own versus how much would I be paying him for labor? I totally understand what you're saying because you can get more done with two blokes. However, you've got to look long-term because you can be bitten yourself in the bum in a few weeks by just doing all of the work now if you not got the leads coming in. Thank you for sharing.
This is what I do charge them out at your rate but pay them slightly less then make £100 a day extra just for having someone with me it’s how you make £2k a month for nothing 👌🏼
@@THETATTOOGARDENER83 we just pay that because got a decent lad that’s worked for years for us and to be honest plenty of days he’s taking more than 200 so would work out £100 profit or more, reading the reply from HD obviously building the work out so hasn’t got the hours yet for this, but when you do it’s a game changer takes you from say 30 k after expenses and tax to say 40k after expenses
