are you having a laugh? i've cut buddleia once a month all season in some places to keep it down and it still flowers, if not more, the more you trim it!
Mate every one always expects more than what they pay for, cheeky sods😅 but that’s what you have to put up with but you always do your best for them I can see that, and you do what the customer wants regardless if the bush might be coming into bloom that’s what the customer wants you do it, good job bud can’t wait for your next one👍

Exactly this we can only advice clients If they say I want it cut can you do it I’d say it’s almost a yeah of course if it’s what the client wants then as a buisness we have to be professional and keep them happy
On the ride on deck , check the pulley bearings, theses are likely sealed non greasble press in ones and may be seized hence the belt getting hot and slipping.

I desperately need you to do my place I have a ride on mower I'm never likely to get in it too scared !!!! 😰 I think ride on mowers are a nitemare....all u want to do is cut the wretched grass not too much to ask is it of ride ons...hate them..
Did that customer want the buddleia cut? It is about a month from flowering and will likely now have hardly any flowers this year.
