not being able to experience this for the first time ever again is gonna kill me
Had to set a friend up with my OLED and Surround Sound as he was doing the finale just to vicariously live this moment again (I foolishly did this at 3am with headphones), this fool played around the ending as Link falls to see what would happen if he didn't catch her!!! Killed the moment 😂 Though he admitted that it was still a very epic scene
Word
@@Alex-tm4dwwhy can't Nintendo let me be racist 😢😢😢
SAME TT-TT
i really experienced this on a 16 hour flight
The game begun with Link failing to protect Zelda as she fell, and the game ended with him finally catching her. Great parallels.
no the game begin with link and zelda in the cave
@@hokutokenshiro6189 Theyre talking about when zelda fell in the cave in the intro when they meet ganondorf for the first time and link fails to catch zelda when she falls into the pit
@@hamburger1541 its not where the game begin

0:41 Zelda’s lullaby actually made me cry
I was seriously on the verge of crying after I heard that too 😭. The instrumentals are just perfect
You saw the entire franchise flash in your head
@@MostlyFish21 Yes and I haven’t even played all of them
I started crying so much that I couldn’t see the screen
Im a 30yo 220 lb man and yes i cried too at that part
This was the moment that The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom became my greatest game of all time.
Yup. For me it took 28 years for that to happen. But finally a new game took over
You are not the only one
Totally agree. It stands proudly with Persona 5 Royal,Cuphead,Portal 2,Bioshock,and The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild for me.
MegaMan battle network and TOTK are my GOAT 🐐🐐
cuphead is a little questionable but great list@@Linkbatmangosling_1
1:09 WHEN THIS THEME CAME ON I FREAKED OUT. I love how sparingly they use it in this game as well as BotW. It really punctuates the epic scenes like Rauru sealing Ganondorf and this one as well.
And ... riding your horse at night?
@@MrPidi86 the most epic time to ride you horse lmao
I KNOW
It’s the main theme we all know and loved since the first NES Zelda game. Skyward Sword later confirmed that Song of the Hero is in fact Link’s theme.
The chills during this unexpected moment
Exactly
I saw this comment a few months ago before I finished the game but I didn't listen to the theme so luckily I wasn't spoiled
The chills I got and the "NO, THEY DID NOOOT..." That I fucking yelled in this entire sequence almost made me FUCKING CRY.
I SCREAMED, I NEEDED TO DIVE DOWN FAST OR I MIGHT HAVE TO DO THE BATTLE ALL OVER AGAIN, BUT TO SEE ZELDA WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! THANK YOU RAURU AND SONIA!!!
maybe the real tears of the kingdom where in our faces all along.
I cried
I DID FUCKIN CRY
Bro I literally called this whole ending AND TO SEE IT PLAY OUT EXACTLY HOW I IMAGINED WAS INSANE I WAS CRYING WHILE DIVING FOR ZELDA MANNNN
There was a certain aspect of the story that left me worried on if it would get a resolution or not.
Seeing it not only get a resolution, but a *playable* one with possibly the best track in the game playing, was easily one of the best moments of the game.
Same for me. So epic ! I was miles away thinking a QTE could give me this level of chills !
*one of the best moments in gaming
It was good. Was done so well. More than we usually get in Zelda for cinematic moments
I thought we’d get a Link’s awakening-eque dlc or sequel if it didn’t get resolved. Where we get to a place that’s not quiet Hyrule and a girl who’s not quiet Zelda. But nope. It gets resolved. Just as nice!
It honestly makes Zelda's sacrifice way less impactful but the scene is still nice
BRO I WANNA PLAY THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME PLEASEEEEE SOMEONE ERASE MY MEMORY SO I CAN DO THIS AGAIN
OMGOSH SAME
ME TOO!
Dementia:
I've never cried playing a videogame, but the scene where this theme plays just made me drop so many tears.
Now I know why the game is called tears of the kingdom
You haven’t played enough games then lol
the real tears of the kingdom were MINE
@@sanghelioLet this guy/gal cry with me and so many others from the emotional rush 😭😂
When the main theme of the Zelda series kicked in as you are about to catch Zelda, I literally flipped out and almost teared up. Pun not intended
That was also me. Once I heard the overworld theme from the VERY FIRST ZELDA GAME, I wanted to start crying.
Hands down the best game I've ever played. I can't imagine what they are gonna do next.
I really hope for the next game in like a few years it’s another open world Zelda game but with classic Zelda linear dungeons as that is my only big complaint with both Botw and TOTK.
with better specs its actually crazy how good the next can possible be, they did all this with basically 2 generation old tech.
Ganondorf: A Man so consumed by lust for power and hatred that he would sacrifice himself to kill every soul in the world he could not have
Zelda: A woman so filled with love for her people and her knight that she would sacrifice herself to give the world one last fighting chance.
And Link, a Knight so devoted to duty and to his beloved princess that he would lose his own life diving from the sky if it meant saving her
This game is an absolute masterpiece
This scene made me realize the real tears of the kingdom where the ones we shed along the way
You bet i held that R button. The most important button in the entire game!
you can sit and wait forever and never get any closer to the ground, it's pretty funny
Perfect flashback and so symbolic
Then it has Zelda’s lullaby then the hero Link’s theme, and it symbolizes him saving her for good. I think this wraps it perfectly
That transition into zelda’s lullaby single handedly wins game of the year for totk. We are never going to experience something like that for the first time again.
God I love “last catch.” One of the best pieces of music in the game!!
This part is seriously untoppable in video gaming. It was so perfectly executed with the most perfect music possible. Best game in existence, hands down
Ngl had tears dripping off my face doing this part. Just a fantastic story
When Zelda’s lullaby came on I started bawling
I love this series so much
0:20 those trumpets sound so good
no cap on a stack those trumpeters blasted they lungs on full throttle for this one, they gone done good 👍
The first key of the “Zelda’s Lullaby” segment broke me upon first playing this part.
Really like how 1:30 pays off on all the reverberated clapping that plays throughout the soundtrack, nice way of saying "this is what it all led up to" through the score
Link will literally catch Zelda falling out of the sky like superman and people still don't see them being a couple
Because people lack braincells
Cool how it ties up the story neatly in this moment. He didnt fail to catch her this time.
Am I the only one who after finishing an amazing game or show i get Post game depression until something can top it.
No… I feel it too…
Yes 😭 that’s why I’m always sad because all of that hard work comes to fruition, but a sense of sadness knowing that it’ll be hard moving on to the next game and not having the same experience again 😭
Not me literally searching up every TotK UA-cam video for a glimpse of the thrill I just felt! 😂
@@LJS_GT I’ve done the same thing 😂 I feel like I can re-live the experience watching others experience it for the first time.
I failed to catch you then… *BUT I WON’T FAIL TO CATCH YOU NOW!*
It's gonna be damn hard to top this game
I half expected Link to call out Zelda's name at this part. The first and only thing he says after decades of silence, and it's her name.
Would've been AMAZING
Lame
gotta dissagred, this doesn't feel right at all
Video games are *ART*
This scene alone makes the 70 dollar price insignificant (besides all the game too) because DAMN THE CHILLS MAN
the perfect end to the most perfect game
Fun fact: at a certain point you and Zelda just stop falling, but just stay in the air.
Unfortunately you can't create a giant Link and Zelda shaped hole in the ground
When Zelda was falling down I was like "Oh hell no! Not this time!" And went to full dive force.
This segment is challenging due to getting ones vision impaired with tears of joy
There is infinite reasons why this is the highest rated game of all time and my god this was just a perfect cherry on top to a literal masterpiece
God when the zeldas lullaby section started playing i was straight up sobbing. This part gave me huge ghibli vibes, i fucking love this series sm
It's pretty much exactly the scene from Spirited Away when Haku's dragon form melts away in midair.

I screamed down at my tv when link was trying to catch her, and then screaming yes at the top of my voice when link grabbed her hand
During the entire scene I was expected Link screaming Zelda's name before grab his hand.
I don’t know what to say, I feel to many emotions and I don’t know how to describe anything. This is so darn good, I want to cry and I have goosebumps.
Anybody else start crying when this started to play?
the scene is so epic & has ghibli vibes i love it😆
This is video game magic, the kind that only Nintendo can create
The fact that you get to control Link during this cutscene made it 100 million times better than the pure beauty that it already is
Imagine hearing this performed live in a concert hall. You'd have goosebumps on top of goosebumps.
when I heard Zelda's lullaby I cried for real
Dang, right as that first note hit, my mind just clicked and said "Heck yeah, let's do this!". Felt so epic, because I happened to get to Zelda right at 1:09, and right then and there, I knew that I had fought through all of BotW Link and Zelda's story. (spoilers)
Starting (chronologically) with Calamity Ganon returning, marking the end of all things good, our heroes then went and gathered 4 of the bravest and most skilled warriors of each race, giving controls to the Divine Beasts the sealed Ganon away 10,00 year prior. In their hopes to prevent this Age of Calamity, they then adventure onward to Korok Forest, where the find that Link is the one chosen by the sword that seals the darkness, the one and only Master Sword. The timeline split in Age of Calamity leading to either the Champion's painful demise, or triumphant victory by uniting all Hyrule. After the Champions are defeating and the Divine Beasts taken over, Link is taken to the Shrine of Resurrection to recover. 100 years later, he is awoken and reclaims the Divine Beasts, recovering his memories along the way. Through countless hours of tears and bloodshed, Link is finally able to defeat Calamity Ganon. However, after doing so, Ganon gives up on reincarnation as a whole and assumes his pure enraged from. Dark Beast Ganon is set loose, however Link ruthlessly murders the thing with Zelda's help. Zelda is able to be free from holding the Calamity back, and they live happily ever after, free to laugh, free to smile, free to breathe in the Breath, of the Wild. An unspecified amount of time (likely 3-5 years) later, weird red ooze like substances begin to leak out of the castle. Link and Zelda investigate the mysterious phenomenon, only to find a mysterious mummy imprisoned deep underground. It awakens and announces that it knows who Link and Zelda are. Link attempts so attack the thing, but his attempts are fruitless, as the body spews pure gloom at the two. Both Link's arm and the Legendary Master Sword are now basically destroyed. As the very ground beneath them begins to crumble, Zelda is cast off into darkness, vanishing in a speck of light. Link awakens on a mysterious piece of land. A ghost named Rauru tells him that he replaced his arm with his old one. He also tells Link that he was the first king of Hyrule, one of an ancient tribe called the Zonai. As Link leaving the cave of his revial, he is astounded by the fact that he is on an island in the sky! And there are many others too. He places the Master Sword on a pedestal, and it shoot back in time like a DeLorean. As he descends from the island, he can hear Zelda's voice in his head, telling him to go to Lookout Landing, a small town directly by the now skyward bound castle. After receiving his glider back from a new and *upgraded* Purah, he goes to help each of the four races with strange phenomena that happened when the sky island rose up. He aids Riju, Sage of Lightning, in helping the Gerudo tribe with constant Gibdo invasions, and sandstorms. He assists Yunobo, Sage of Fire, with the Goron's drug addiction issues. He helps Tulin, sage of Wind, stop a never-ending snowstorm that had been harming the Rito. And last but not least, he aids Sidon, Sage of Water, help the Zora with sludge falling from the sky hurting them. As he is doing all of these, he grabs memories, seeing where Zelda is, and plot twist, she's with Rauru and his wife, Sonia, way back in the day of Hyrule's founding. The Master Sword appeared before Zelda's eyes, and she remembers that bathing the master sword in power will make it stronger. She needed a way to get the sword to Link, it was the only to beat Ganondorf. She tuurns herself into an immortal dragon while holding the ruined sword, hoping that as she waited for the present to come, the sword would gain power, and when Link needed it, he could find it on her forehead (again, giant dragon) and that it would be ready to use. Link sees that there are 7 sages, and he only has the vows of 4 of them. He builds a mech for the last one to inhabit, as it is nothing less the the spirit of Mineru, Sage of Wisdom, Rauru's older sister. With all the sages at hand, he goes and kicks Ganondorf's (who was imprisoned by Rauru way back when, and was hat mummy from earlier) butt. Upon being defeated, Ganondorf decides to use his ast resort and turn himself into a dragon to destroy Link and shroud Hyrule in darkness. Again, with Zelda's aid, in an epic battle of giant dargons, skydiving, and giant gem stabbing, Link destroys the Dragonified Demon King. After doing so, the ghosts of Rauru and Sonia appear in the "spirit realm, I guess?" and channel Sonia's Time power and Rauru's Light power through link, restoring his arm, and turning Zelda human again. As Zelda falls from a million feet up, this banger plays as Link chases after her in hot pursuit to guide the two of them, Link clutching unconscious Zelda in arms, diving into a nearby pond. As Zelda wakes up, she is delighted to see that Link did indeed get the Master Sword, and that it had all ended happily ever after. Later on, all of the Sages gather as Mineru passes on to the afterlife. This is when Zelda truly sheds the Tears of the Kingdom. This is The Story, the Tale, The Legend, of Zelda. This one piece of music takes me and many of you I'm sure down Nostalgia Way as the Final Fall happens. I truly wish I was able to experience this incredible story again for the first time.
Whooof that's a lot! While I guess now I can tell my English teacher I wrote an essay on fly...
P.S. I know none of you asked. I just really like The Legend of Zelda. Also, that's only like 1/5 of the entire series timeline. That's just the Breath of the Wild trilogy.
Bro why
Cool idea, but I’m not sure people are going to read that, but maybe your English teacher would bump your grade up!
The game involving you the player in such a pivotal moment that circles back to the beginning of the game just MADE the emotional connection so much more powerful to me
Y’all talking about Zelda’s lullaby but sleeping on the LoZ main theme
Im Japanese ZELDAs fan.
Thanks to loved this game.
Im proud of you.
Over the last 20 or so years, I've saved princesses countless times in video games.
But never have I actually felt more like a knight in shining armor saving a beautiful princess until this moment.
reach.. Reach... REACH
What a satisfying ending. I can't wait to see what they come up with after this, I really hope this isn't the end for this version of the series
This part had me screaming at the TV. so so good.
Me when i realized what might be happening: oh yes. YES. please let me do it. *pushes R to dive* YEEEEESSSSSSSS (while crying)
It is my dream goal to play this song while actually skydiving
What if you randomly have to save a falling pizza delivery guy?
Best ending I've ever seen in a video game I'm pretty sure, the soundtrack and everything just fits so perfectly together. It made me really emotional.
Though as happy as it was it still makes me kinda sad because it's likely going to be the last time we see this version of Link and Zelda anyway, like in a weird way it felt sort of pointless. Never had this kind of problem in the previous games because the characters didn't feel so real
I LOVE this version so much and it’s probably because there’s a dialogue and cut scenes that are unparalleled. I would hate if they ever went back voiceless style.
I hope we get another game including or mentioning these 2
Ok Zelda we are going to heal you up and make you whole again. Now the only condition is that you will drop several feet from the air and possibly die. Luckily your fall damage immune soldier over there will help you out if he doesn't have a heart attack first.
Zelda TotK main theme + Zelda's Lullaby + Zelda Main Theme = FULL MASTERPIECE I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO
You let her fall once, Link. Don't let it happen ever again!
She’s your Zelda Link. Save her!!!!!
(spoilers but if you are here is because you already finished the game)
The fact that the Chinese instrument that was heard in the main theme is already gone now that Zelda isn't a Dragon anymore is beautiful
my favorite scen in the whole serie just made me cry so hard
They NEED to plau this at the game awards. its the perfect song
i like how this being a month old gets more views than the song with the same name that came out first 2 years ago.
“Oh shit were still controlling him?”
I beat this game in an airport lobby.
I swear every time I hear this, I get chills.
I ain't even joking, I love it !!
I hope we get one more game with these versions of link and
Zelda exploring other lands and the great seas or a tv series
I remember in my first play through and I finally got to the part, it was a “Oh whoops I’m falling” kind of moment, then immediately escalated to a “OH FUDGE CRUMPETS SHE’S FALLING TOO”.
Chills chills chills
i loved this song
notice how at the beginning the piano plays snippets of the diving theme
AUGHHHHHH ZELDA'S LULLABY HITS HARD ;;;;;;;;;
Don't save Zelda to keep the music going 😎
Hello I'm here after finally completing the game and was not ready for this in the slightest. I love this game.
Defeating Ganondorf is not the pinnacle this game has to offer.
Saving Zelda in the most romantic way conceivable is.
This is probably the best way to cap off a Zelda game. Harking back to the beginning of the game where Link failed to save her, now in the same position but this time Link has his moment to finally save her here and now! He failed once, he’s not going to do that again! This is Link remembering what happened and redeeming himself. And I don’t think there is any better way to cap off a game after such a climactic final battle! After all the horrors and hardships Link has fought through, all those tests of courage, defeating terrifying foe after terrifying foe, after plunging the Depths and facing the most terrifying parts of it, and after finally killing the Demon King once and for all, this is the ultimate test of courage. Risking his own life to save Zelda from certain death.
And this was the moment of the game where it had me balling my eyes out! I was so awash with emotion that I began to cry heavily. I’m surprised I hadn’t woken anyone up with how I was crying.
In 0:42 gave me chills
Honestly this scene is one of the very best I've been a part of in a video game. It lets you be active in it, like you have to *hold* A to reach for Zelda. And the music, oh my god. Regularly I replay the entire end of the game just to get there. It's so good, I could scream about it forever.
"You are coming home!"
During this, my reaction was: the games not over yet
This segment reminded me of the ending of Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope. Both amazing games.
Thank you Nintendo for this great game ❤
Zelda Forever 🙌
For some reason I was expecting the moment it did the first couple iconic notes for it to fade to black before saying “Next time on Zelda Three”
I just finished the game last night, when this played the tears came, it was so unexpected. What a theme!!
0:40 when the song switched to Zelda's Lullaby tears started rolling down because it was SO FUCKING PERFECT AND SO SENTIMENTAL!
Genie, for my first wish, I would like to play tears of the kingdom for the first time again
Best Zelda game ending
Hearing Zelda’s lullaby gives me the chills every time. Without fail.
When I hear this theme, I just can’t help but cry out “I’M COMING ZELDA!!”
I cry every time I hear this without fail
Funnily enough, this moment was the first time I read the prompt correctly immediately and held the button down instead of spamming. Everywhere else (master sword, doors draining life, etc.) i failed. So glad this is the moment I didn't!
This was literally the perfect editing I can't believe it
Can’t stop listening to 0:11-0:19. The realization that you’re in control when you read “Dive to Zelda (Hold) *R* ” and you hear the main theme of the game suddenly swell as you fall as fast as you can
No veas la llorera que me pegue nada mas sonó la nana de zelda 😢
Taking something we've done hundreds of not thousands of times throughout the game at this point and placing such importance on that catch...damn it, Nintendo. Perfection.
