That off center health bar is the best example I've seen of UI storytelling. That gannondorf is so powerful that he breaks the fabric of reality
that’s a good way to put it. i was annoyed that it was off center the whole fight. LMAOO
I loved that so much. Only problem: They should've made the fight fit the hype. I mean it was way too easy
at first i thought this must be a bug because it looked so off haha
@@alexdreFalkeYou are speaking my language. Second easiest Zelda boss fight I’ve done.
@@NineZero-tj9qq Yeah but that's not how a boss should be designed. A final boss should be designed to be challenging to the average player. The average player has some armor and some heart potions and a few decent weapons usually. Also a boss needs to challenge you with different attack/defense patterns that you need to learn. This bossfight was fairly simple in comparison.
Credit where credit is due though, it is really gorgeous and epic
Zelda has lived 100 years fighting calamity Gannon only to go back in the past to live as an immortal dragon for 10,000 years . She’s suffered so much
Zelda: I'm straight up... Not having a good time rn
Wisdom triforce: *well that's too damn bad honey*
At least this time she wasn’t conscious for it
My headcanon is that the time Zelda went back to is actually from shortly after Skyward Sword (a few generations after the Link and Zelda of that game), and so Zelda would have been the Light Dragon for much, much, more than 10,000 years since 10,000 years ago was when Calamity Ganon first struck which I think happened after at the end of the split timelines
@@vegetables1593 my thing is how did rauru found Hyrule when Zelda at the end of skyward sword was supposed to be the one to found Hyrule . And your right 10,000 years before breath of the wild was the first calamity . That means zelda was alive as a immortal dragon at the same time during almost all of her & links past incarnations
At least she doesn't remember the dragon part though.
That flurry rush reversal was the biggest shock of my whole playthrough. Seriously felt like my eyes were bulging out of my head. Incredible game
At least the devs weren't cruel enough to have him do a flurry attack back
@@Adam-mh7zvThe fight would’ve been borderline impossible at that point, unless you had prepared 10,000,000 gloom restoration foods beforehand.
@@surreal4972 well I wish the game made it more obvious that that needed gloom restoration foods at all before entering the fight, because I didn't learn what a sundelion was for until my 3rd attempt fighting ganon, with all but three of my hearts lost to gloom
@@Adam-mh7zv …Dude, how quickly did you beat the game your first playthrough? Sundelions and their importance are emphasized several times by NPCs and even during certain parts of the story.

I think the beauty of the scenario lies in the fact that the classic "hero rescuing the princess" is reduced to the relationship of "one who entrusts and one who is entrusted," rather than "one who is rescued and one who is saved," making the two sides as equal as possible.
I love that the the name of the quest was “Find Princess Zelda” not “Save Princess Zelda.”
@@kelgray....yeah. But you did save her at the end. Lmaooo
Even if it's based on the "rescue the princess" trope, Zelda in these games feels very equal to Link. Really as you play through you realize she's the one who sets the entire scenario for what you and everyone else needs to do. In BotW it was her who had Ganon trapped for 100 years, not the other way around. And even in TotK, her spending 10,000 years empowering the Master Sword was her own idea and decision. She's a thorn in Ganon's side as much as Link.

I will never forget "Dive to Zelda" as long as I live. Such a perfect book end, mirroring Link's failure to catch her below Hyrule castle at the start of the game. Just...*chef's kiss* .
Omg
but also… it’s so funny that Rauru and Sonia’s final act was basically going „congrats, now good luck falling”
That was a nice moment, but I feel like I don't remember if I remembered that moment or more specifically the feeling I had when I first experienced it before I watched it again on UA-cam. Sure the first time I experienced it was back in October, but I believe I first got these bothers back in January. Perhaps I'll get that feeling again the next time I play that part in my copy of the game again.
Clarify that hyrule castle Part when failing to catch Zelda what part was that on?
Edit: few minor errors.
@@blindspotwright3996when ganondorf awaken and Zelda fell into the void and then get teleported in the past
I really love how Ganondorf is portrayed in this game. He mirrors Links own moveset but better in a way, and there are so many clever mechanics to show that he almost 'breaks' the world. The super long health bar, the fact he can counter your flurry rushes with some of his own, the ability to shatter the Hylian shield near instantly or the fact that if he lands a big attack, he outright removes some of Links heart containers.
Sure, the fight was maybe more cinematic than difficult per se, but I think it's far and away the best portrayal of the G-man we've seen.
It reminded me of Undertale at times
I agree and I didn’t mind that the fight was cinematic. I hate impossible fights at the end of the game.
The fact it was more cinematic than difficult is totally fine to me, and I say this as someone who adores a good challenge.
The whole ending moves very fluidly, and any amount of deaths or retries, I feel, would have interrupted or even outright ruined the mood, especially for people who might get frustrated from it.
As is, I think it’s a perfect example of UI / Gameplay storytelling, and I’d much prefer a New Game+ (I guess ‘canon difficulty’) Ganondorf fight that really, _really_ challenges you once you already know the story rather than one right off the bat.
This was the sword fight I felt I was kinda cheated out of in Twilight Princess where you pretty much just QTE Ganon to death. Here you actually used your moveset and while it was a tad bit on the easy side, it had just enough consequence for failure and kept you on the edge of your seat through cinematic portrayal to make it a great experience.
Best fight with Ganondorf but not the best Ganondorf if yk what i mean
I noticed there's a parallel between how we retrieve the Master Sword, pulling it from the head of the Light Dragon, and how we finish off the Demon Dragon, plunging it into it's head.
You even get a scene of Link pulling the sword from Zelda’s head if you hadn’t already, just for him to immediately drive it into the same spot on Ganon’s head
That is ironic and true
The fight made me feel like I was actually dueling Ganondorf. The way he dodged my flurry rushes and depleted your max hearts truly defined “Finally a worthy opponent”
Edit: Just redid the fight and found out he also catches and throws your arrows in his final 1v1, this boss is legendary boys.
I feel bad because I rocket jumped and just served him a hot volley of arrows to the face, got his ass real quick, so I missed out a little on the dueling
@@realcupojoe I want to fight him again, only because someone said you could redirect some of his attacks, I love how there’s multiple ways on fighting him, so arrows to the face is definitely solid

@Mysterious one nah u just gotta flurry rush his flurry rush
What makes this boss so cool is that it kinda feels like you’re fighting another player. Ganondorf performing his own flurry rushes and charged attacks along with using all of the three weapon types as Link would really sets in stone that this is a duel between to highly skilled warriors.
The only thing that would have made that better is if he started learning to flurry rush your flurry rushes after his initial flurry rushes (wrap your head around that one) particularly in response to what weapons you use more. Like how I struggled to flurry rush his sword for a while and then in the final phase struggled to flurry rush his flurry rushes. If he adapted like how I adapted, that would have been some proper Player v. AI-Pretending-to-be-Player action.

@@marinadc7540 I've thought of doing a french playthrough since I actually understand the language.
Imagine Mark Hamill doing the role? I guess he was asked, but scheduling wouldn’t allow him. Hamill is the one person who would’ve brought more life in Ganondorf
@@Gokulosestoavirus don't think he would be asked due to Mark Hammill being unionised while Mercer isn't.
Not that he (and to name another potential choice, Clancy Brown) would not be good choices to voice Ganondorf for any animated series.
The fact that games like this even exist is incredible. Masterpiece.
Man this fight felt a lot better than Botw’s final boss! Sure his moveset is pretty much the same as Phantom Ganon’s and his Dragon phase is still incredibly easy like Beast Ganon, but MAN the atmosphere and intensity of it all really elevates it for me! Plus that “Oh Shit” moment where his health bar goes across the screen was great too.
The atmosphere makes this boss great, and at least it’s a significantly more challenging fight than Calamity Ganon ever was.
Not to mention many people are playing this with a whole playthrough or more of Breath of the Wild. There are distinct changes but the combat system is really similar so a lot of players essentially start off the game with an intermediate understanding on how to fight shit, and even then it’s a significant step up challenge.
I also did a double take when his health just kinda…kept going. Like “oh my god this is so stupid but IT WORKS SO WELL”
His moveset is not like Phantom Ganon. I fought this boss over 30 times because I kept dying there. I got here with 3 hearts, 2 fairies and no food. I couldn't leave so I kept trying, I didn't want to load an old save. I know his pattern from A to Z and it was really fun ! This boss is epic and very challenging if you're not overpowered. It is much harder than BOTW's final boss and it took a me about 1 hour to it. Such an amazing boss fight.

This entire ending sequence is just done so well. The range of emotions you feel from hype to melancholy but with satisfaction all mixed together just goes to show how much better Tears of the Kingdom evolved in terms of storytelling from Breath of the Wild. This the Gannodorf we needed, and his final boss battle does not disappoint at all, and those final cutscene just brings it all home perfectly.
My Hylian Shield broke during the second phase of the fight with Ganondorf, but I decided to just go with only the Master Sword, no shield, for the dramatic flare. I still was able to beat him with only one heart left and get to the dragon portion.
Probably the best final boss in the series, man. Impeccable game.

And even combining the Two most Powerful and Most Iconic Weapons of him:
The Master Sword and the Fierce Deity Sword.

I think you should look through the Memories you can find in the Overworld, there you see a whole different Sealing War thanbthe one from A Link to the Past, no Triforce was included, no Sacred Realm was included, just Ganondorf murdering someone to get their secret-stone and turning into a dark God and then getting sealed by the Zonai Rauru.
I first thought too they were talking about the A Link to the Past Imprisoning War, yet in the end it turned out to be a completely different one.
Pretty sure the book Nintendo released about BOTW confirms this is a totally different timeline than any other Zelda game too

Game was phenomenal. Story was lightyears better than botw. Almost every bit of exploring had meaning to it where u found some crazy loot (especially caves). All boss fights were actually challenging unlike the beast Ganon from botw. Cutscenes were so much more meaningful in this game as well. Started tearing up when Zelda clutched the master sword to her chest and screamed “protect them all” as she sacrifices her humanity in order to deliver the powered master sword to link. Then the falling Zelda as link dives down to catch her and this time succeeding. God what an amazing game
It was definitely a beautiful game
I'm with you in general that I loved the game, but the storytelling at least in some ways didn't seem better than BOTW imo, in specifically that all 4 of the sages cutscenes are almost identical - they see the slow-mo cutscene from the past of the ancient sages, they realize they need to become a sage, they promise to, and they clasp Link's hand. Vs in BOTW each tribe hero actually had an actual story, the Rito guy felt superior and thought he should have been the hero and had chip on his shoulder, the Zora girl had romantic feelings for Link, the Gerudo girl knew Zelda's mother, etc unique stories. Vs TotK sages were all carbon copies of one another. So I felt that could have been better
The cutscenes from the giant heiroglyph tears though, they were awesome; and Zelda turning into a dragon, and obviously the ending boss fight, incredible
@@NaturalEntertainer85 yeah also traveling through Hyrule, slowly learning about what happened during those 100 years. My favourite part was Hyrule castle where you could find notes made by Zelda or king. I think BOTW was more climatic, but I may be wrong because of nostalgia, I remember complaing about story in this game 6 years ago xd
@@NaturalEntertainer85Personally, I dislike how “disconnected” Totk feels from Botw. There’s almost no sheika tech from the previous game (ancient arrows are rare, one guardian husk sits on the hatino lab), there’s barely a mention of either of the calamities, the divine beasts, the champions, really anything. Story wide, it could just be an entirely new game and, besides a few minor alterations, no one would question it.
@@NaturalEntertainer85 The sages not getting stories was because it was entirely covered in BoTW (besides Tulin, you're right about him).
I think the best part about the Ganondorf fight is you know they’re going to crank the difficulty for Master Mode, like increasing the number of times he can flurry rush you, and extending his health bar onto the left side of the screen.
Two things I love about this boss fight:
1. It actually feels like a finale and you feel the sense of dread when fighting a very powerful warrior like this iteration of Ganondorf. Especially when you dodge to the side and attempt a flurry rush and his head follows you as you move. Incredible detail.
2. The scene where "Demon King Ganondorf's" health bar (super terrifying when it kept going, by the way) is knocked halfway down and he pushes the Five Sages back then just smirks and gestures to Link with his fingers. It's like he's saying "Come on, this is a fight between you and me only, two respectful warriors. Give me the fight I've been craving for thousands of years!"
Abosultely incredible game and worth the wait!
It's really cool, because if you used backflips and sidesteps to create openings in the swordfight portions of this boss like I did, his third phase is actually harder because he dodges your initial flurry rush, and you have to dodge or parry a followup attack of his. Such a great boss!
I thought that if I parried he'd still just perfect dodge it anyways so I beat the 3rd phase with nothing except for the damage his gloom shots deal when hit back at him
@@gatr2897 wow now THAT'S impressive!!!
@@tatertot64 I mean imo those attacks are his easiest to deal with if you know their trick, it just makes it take longer doing it how I did it
@@gatr2897 Oh yeah. I usually just booked it whenever he fired the homing attacks tbh hehe
I figured out that if I missed doing the flurry attack but then I immediately follow up with a simple attack, he will follow up with his own dodge and attack me again and if you flurry correctly that time he won't dodge it
I unfortunately got spoiled about what Ganondorf's final form was a little before doing it myself, it's design and how the fight plays out was NOT what I was expecting. Absolutely incredible.
side note: doing this without a fused master sword was such a good idea. Perfect amount of difficulty.

Me too.
I mean, it was entirely y own fault, but still...

I got spoiled by people commenting on stuff on UA-cam when people had the game early
i was spoiled because i was scrolling tiktok and a live of someone playing the ending came up. i scrolled as fast as i could but i was soooo upset 😭 thankfully experiencing it myself made it special, since i had seen so little. or there were people casually putting clips of link trying to catch zelda out of the air in the backgrounds of their videos. it was so frustrating.
I just absolutely love how 23:36 is a reference back to the beginning where Link could not reach Zelda's hand before she fell into the depths and disappeared and then at the end he was able to grab her hand and save her. Such great subtle story telling.
Edit: Oh my god, I’m sorry for using the word subtle. 🙃 I only meant that for some it may not be something you realize right away. I had to watch this scene a couple of times to even get that the reference circles back to the very beginning when he couldn’t catch her. For some it may not be that obvious.
Ye and ganondorf also looks like demise from skyward sword too

Fun fact: the mark at 5:39 is very similar to the kanji “闇“, which means shadow or darkness.
In the Japanese version, the kanji for each sage's abilities and marks are the same: 光 (light), 時 (time), 風 (wind), 炎 (fire), 水 (water), 雷 (lightening), and 魂(spirit or soul).
Adding “闇 (shadow)” to these , it means that all sages from OoT except “森 (forest)” are present in TotK.
Including things like the relationship between Ganondorf and the Kingdom, it's just amazing how much OoT homage is included in TotK.
Thanks for showing us

Yes. But it's also the worst Ganondorf (as a character) in the series. Really a flat, boring version of the Gerudo king.
@@Hunter-D. Ocarina of Time was just as flat dude. So was TP. The only Ganondorf that had any semblance of depth was WW. You also don't need every villain to be sympathetic. Sometimes they can be power hungry psychopaths. But I do agree WW was the best version of Ganondorf.
@@Hunter-D. literally every other Ganondorf was just as flat besides maaaaybe Wind Waker’s cause he actually had a bit of a backstory. Dunno why you think this is new. He’s always had pretty much the same personality.
@@Hunter-D. mfs when villains do villain things: 😱😱😱
Crazy thing is tebas son is still so young meaning so many decades of improvement. Clearly the strongest of the sages
Rito don't live as long as the other races.
Riju is of equivalent age, given biology differences. Yunobo is also considered young.
Zora live for hundreds of years and Sidon is already more powerful now than how we saw him in BotW.
All of them except Sidon and Mineru are young
@HylianRo sidon isnt that old either, zora live for hundreds of years
@@putriscool he's at least an adult and you can even pinpoint his general age range since there is another zora in a side quest that mentions their daughter being 60 years old and just coming of age, I.e around 16-18 in human years, so for Sidon being around 110+ that would effectively put him at about 20-25 in human years, which tracks neatly with where he is in his life (married, ascending the throne etc.)
@@NoJenk Rito don't live as long as the *Zora.* It's never stated that their lifespans are shorter than *all* the other races, just the Zora.
I loved this fight so much, Ganondorf is always so badass and seeing him dodge my flurry rushes in my playthrough for the first time was so damn cool
I can’t think of a single thing wrong with this. Like it’s perfect. This game is perfect. It’s the Shawshank Redemption of video games, it just keeps delivering and feeding you exactly what you need from a Zelda game multiplied by 100000. Its like Spirited Away meets Zelda, meets God. What a fuckin masterpiece.
Can we just appreciate that Riju fought a boss plus her gibdo army alone while all the other sages just fought a single enemy? 😂
And then you have Sidon with that smol octopus
@marinadc7540 i like to imagine that the sages helped each other after beating their own bosses.
this fight really did feel like you were battling a powerful beast and i really liked the mechanic of you losing your hearts permanently in the fight when you get hit
Ganondorf is so full of himself and so cocky in this. Pretty interesting version of him we get in this. Like yea, he's always been full of himself and cocky, but never as blatant as this. Everything from his goading smiles and his manner of speech. I love it, dude just wants to rule, and doesn't give a shit
Yeah, unlike his mainstream counterpart, he is a full blown villain with no redeeming qualities while the mainstream version does have a few redeeming qualities.
I just "beat" the game today and I can't stop thinking about the ending QTE sequence until the ending. The music in that sequence was just put so well together it's like every Zelda game you played before had purpose to fulfill this moment. The ending not only ties the story of Tears of the Kingdom together, but it also ties up Breath of the Wild. A masterpiece of all masterpieces.
does the castle and everything bounce back to being evil and gloom filled or does it stay normal?
@@dns.schndr Not sure. I wanted to sit on the game before booting it up again lol.

Just finished the game this morning after 250 hours worth of phenomenal and peerless gameplay. It is without doubt, the most dramatic, heart pounding, majestic and emotional final boss encounter and cinematic finale I’ve ever experienced in about 35 years of gaming. The only other titles that come close all happen to be other Zelda games, and I’m saying this as a multi platform gamer.
As others have said, the moment when you sky dive towards Zelda distills and encompasses everything I love about Nintendo.
No doubt their future consoles will get more and more powerful, but they will have to go some distance to beat this experience.
The fight with Ganondorf is absolutely perfect, and honestly kind of challenging, which is great considering how Breath of the Wild's final boss was pretty easy. As for the ending, it's beautiful and I still can't believe it's over, what an amazing journey that was.
The buildup to the final fight and said fights atmosphere is nuts
This fight was a little too easy, but the atmosphere and intensity really make up for it. The comically large health bar, Ganondorf slow mo dodging your attacks, and him permanently taking hearts away are all such creative ideas!! And the final phase with the dragons is so beautiful. The music is so perfect
agreed i’m looking forward to master mode
i wish he would punish you more when he breaks your guard and not just stun you, i also wish that he was a bit faster with his attacks, and the dragon fight was incredibly easy just like dark beast ganon, only thing that made it better was the atmosphere
@@Asksksksk the dragon fight isn't really a boss. Its meant to be easy. The challenge was Ganondorf
@@Asksksksk his attacks having delay makes it harder to parry or avoid
@@themcking5987 yeah i guess you’re right
What I really liked about Ganondorfs fight was that he could just take away hearts further than the gloom effect. Like he just erased an hour of progress because he is THAT powerful. It solidified how much of a threat he actually was.
Finished the game last night. Seeing how Zelda still had an instinct to help Link even after draconification brought tears to my eyes.
I think ganon needed a lot more screentime, you only see him like 4 times
This fight felt different from the rest, as if it were truly the final battle with Ganondorf. No talk about sealing, no talk about imprisoning, just straight up murder. And with the way the fight ended, it certainly looks that way. Ganondorf, the arch enemy of the free peoples of Hyrule, now laid to rest in what looks like a permanent manner. Of course, with how profitable this series is, he'll probably be back. But personally? I'd like this to be the end of Ganondorf's story. It's just set up so well that I'd hate for it to all be undone in the next game.
Ganondorf end, but not ganon
He can still return in a game set before this one
They'll probably use an alternate timeline Ganondorf or a reincarnation
I’d like this to be the end of Ganondorf but not the dark beast Ganon. Ganon is more of a ghost who can act on its own without Ganondorf. We saw this with calamity Ganon and the entire fallen hero timeline. Ganon is a force of nature that appears and disappears at will. Ganon is unpredictable and is not shackled by the laws of man. Ganon has no mercy. Ganon has no feeling. Ganon is power, hatred, destruction and disaster. Ganon is a real monster
Time to bring Vaati to 3D Zelda
I love how most of these monsters are huge evil creatures. Then Sidon gets some weird octorock mutant 🤣😂🤣
Right 😂
Just because it’s smaller, doesn’t mean it’s not as dangerous as the other three.
@@matthewdennis2911 he was the easiest I. My opinion
@Matthew Dennis I get that, it's just funny is all. All these Temples have huge scary monsters, then there this little guy 🤣
Would have had more of and impact if it had been in shark mode.
8:26 I loved moments like this for him, since while this version of Ganondorf is pretty much pure evil, it actually shows his viscious mockery and confidence outside of just dialog.
JESUS CHRIST THE DRAGON FIGHT WAS SO CRAZY!! IT WAS GORGEOUS!!
this is the first final boss out of all of the video games I've played that ACTUALLY made me intimidated
The music getting louder and scarier the deeper you go into his hideout was awesome!
Oof you gotta play stuff from Fromsoft then
Just play one souls game bro
Play Hollow Knight (true final boss)
I was also quite intimidated because my thoughts were "I JUST SPENT THE LAST TWO HOURS GETTING TO THIS POINT, AND IF I DIE HERE I SWEAR TO LANARU!!!
2:15 love how he doesn’t have eyelids so his pupils just suddenly appear. Nice touch and oddly more terrifying.
I'm so used to the blue colors of this iteration of Link that it started to feel strange to see him in his classic green outfit... but god does it still feel right to see him in this outfit in this boss fight in particular
The panic that set in when I saw that health bar get longer... and longer.... and LONGER
It’s good to see so much love for the characters put into this game, what a great series
Before fighting Ganondorf, i was like "oh man it'd be so cool if Ganondorf can dodge and all like you, feeling like a battle from equal to equal.
And finishing the battle with Zelda helping you as a dragon. Not even thinking Ganondorf could eat the Tear.
And all my wishes came true. Truly a brilliant final boss fight, as a gamer and cinematically
It's a remix of the ocarina of time ball bouncing phase that ganondorf puts link through.
even tho that dragon fight was pretty easy, the atmosphere was WAY better for a final boss than the breath of the wild one.Nintendo did a great job at this
It was meant to be easy. Like as a send off. Ganondorf is the final boss
Also Zelda games recently have that moment where all the representatives of the triforce battle.
Yeah it’s more of a cinematic battle than an actual challenging battle.
Demon Dragon is easily my favorite final boss fight in the Zelda franchise. The Ganondorf sword duels in this game and TP were top tier already, but the way they foreshadowed and set up the payoff of Ganondorf’s final form was so dang brilliant, and the execution itself, while mostly spectacle, is both so emotional and climactic, with Zelda herself assisting you again and the fight still managing to test the new sky maneuvering skills and gloom mechanics you learned about throughout the game. And the music, HO LEE SH*T the music. The way those saxes and the erhu played off of eachother while delicately balancing Zelda’s Lullaby and Ganon’s Theme was f*cking masterful. I never heard anything like it and I was on the verge of tears.
Well done, Nintendo. You not only blew BOTW’s finale out of the water, but most other Zelda games’ finales as well.
Not a difficult fight but man... So cinematic and a tear jerker ❤😢😮
I love that you can launch back Ganon's power orbs just like in Ocarina of Time. A nice nod to the iconic game that introduced Ganondorf.
I unironically accidentally found Gannon and beat him, so for a certain quest it tell you to go find an ancient ruin and I thought it meant below the castle to I ram down there and got to Ganon and I didn’t realize it was the final boss until Ganondorf started calling me names
I also found the boss room by accident. I immediately realized what it was though
Accidentally? Does it mean the Final Boss/Area is avaible right after the tutorial just like in Botw?
@@Graf27green Indeed. This one looks a fair bit harder to beat with fuck all vs the BOTW iteration.
@@Graf27green yeah it's just really really hard to get to

22:55 -27:00 just might be the most epic/beautiful gaming sequence and cinematic I've ever seen in my life.
Loved the final battle. The cinematics were amazing, the music was moving...the only thing I wished they did differently...I wish they would, for once, give Link even the tiniest hint of a personality. He doesn't have to say anything. Even just a facial expression would do. I mean he dove through the sky, grasped Zelda's hand at the end, a reference to how he couldn't reach her in the beginning and then carried her from the water in his arms...and nada. Lifeless. I mean! ugh. Give him a tear, a smile, anything! Anyway. Still loved the game. I admit I rushed this one, desperate to know the ending. Maybe now I'll go back and do all the side missions.
Right!!! A sigh of relief - a moment to be weak and vulnerable after everything they had just fought for
Everywhere else in the game outside of cutscenes he's known to be characterized as quirky, childish, erratic. He smiles and pants and frowns in the cooking animations, the temperature animations, etc; it's not like he's a complete blank slate otherwise. Why the cutscenes have him completely expressionless I don't know. I wish they expanded more on the Zelda/link relationship in this game, as it's obvious Zelda holds him in such high regard yet there is no reciprocation to be seen whatsoever
@@harshaldesai2505 the reason cutscenes have him emotionless is cause he’s supposed to be for us to put our own emotions into…Take the name literally….we are *linked* to him…he’s us…and his emotions are ours….And I enjoy that he doesn’t have emotions cause then we can input our own for him
@@SuperPrestogamer I feel like that argument has been long since outdated. With games like Wind Waker and Skyward Sword featuring a Link that realistically reacts to everything around him, I feel botw and totk come off as downgrades to Link's character. It's made even worse considering these two recent games officially make Link's name Link within the context of the story. Unable to change his name further cements the fact that he's his own character. The idea of "inputting our own emotions" just sounds outlandish and makes the cinematic moments in the game feel so awkward with Link being so stone faced all the time.
Personally, with botw and totk breaking so much ground and changing up so much within the Zelda series, I'd honestly expected a vocal debut with Link. Let him speak or finally lower his guard and show raw emotion during the game's finale. The series is what...30 years old now? I think Nintendo should've done more of a grand send off considering the series longevity at this point. What better way to do it then do the unthinkable?
Funny thing is that he shows a bit of emotion when he gets the master sword, but most people won't see it because they'll be wearing the gliding mask during the cutscene 😂
This felt less like a zelda boss and more like a dark souls boss, and i'm all here for it.
??? ganondorf from wind waker and twilight princess battle seems like this
When Zelda is falling and you need to catch her, I heard Zelda's lullaby and that was just amazing!!
See every Zelda game ending is always bittersweet to think about when you remember Demise's curse is just gonna spit out a new Ganondorf in however many years. There's no real winning for Link and Zelda, sure they won in this life time, until their souls get dragged back to the mortal realm to do it all again.
I like to think the soul is ever present.
Just waiting for the time to actually make their presences known.
At least for link and Ganon. Zelda/Hylia is kinda ever present it seems.
Ganondorf tried to go all tactical nuke like the Predator on Link in his final moment... This Ganondorf is hardcore... Took me about 2 hours to get his patterns down and beat him since I had no meals or fairies when I got to him.... Uhhhggg...
25:24 Come on Nintendo! Can’t you just let Link and Zelda give each other a hug or a kiss? I am tired of all of the hints and suggestions since Zelink officially canon Breath of the Wild’s secret ending.

It feels so right to fight Ganondorf in the Ocarina of Time outfit. The goosebumps it gives phew!
Thats what i wore
Fuck man, I’m obsessed with the elegance of the movement of ganondorf to rise up from his seat and the way he jumps off of the structure and lands.
That casual landing was somehow terrifying
I just completed the ending and I’ve been playing it since day one of release. Been collecting here, duping there. Building things. I forgot there was a story behind it at times. But the ending was so freaking awesome…. Tulin is my most favorite character in the game by far. He’s so cute and awesome.
You know, the coolest thing is back in 1998, they wanted Ganon to be so big that Link would have to climb on him to fight him. Due to either limitations or wanting him to fit the screen, that wasn't possible. It took Demon Dragon Ganon for that wish to become a reality around 25 years later.
Actually that idea went to Megaleg on Super Mario Galaxy.
Man, I don't care whether the dragon part was more of a glorified cutscene, it was just awesome.
When he rehydrated, when he powered up (especially the health bar, man that worked so well), when he didn't care anymore and turned into a dragon, when Zelda showed up and that shot on Link on her facing him, the whole fight and when he finally went down and we see the castle in the new day.
Definitely one of the highest points in the game if not this year.

That moment princess Zelda turns around, and all you can think about is the way Link surprised her when they first met in OOT. 😊❤
Fun fact, the projectiles that decrease your max hearts; if you have the master sword, you can deflect them back at ganondorf for more damage. Discovered that bit by complete accident trying to dodge out the way of one yet I accidentally hit the attack button and swung the master sword at it. I was anticipating that i would get hit and lose a heart, not send it back blue against ganondorf and actually deal damage to him. Once that happened though, I was like “… Weakness spotted.” When watching the bossfights earlier before I got to them, there were still things missing that I discovered on my own and they were glorious. The weakness i just talked about was one of them, and I couldn’t be happier about that happy accident revealing something i didn’t know about before.
For those who like me struggled to defeat him. The best tactic is to keep your shield always up and use arrows. This will guarantee destroy 4-5 shields, but at least you will get himm 100% of time.
