      It's like the final battle of Spirit Tracks. They hold hands both on the sword to deliver the final thrust and after.
      In Skyward Sword Zelda says she wants to live on the land, feel it under her feet. She asks what Link wants to do. His face lights up then the camera pans to their Loftwings flying off together like 2 literal lovebirds. Remember the Skyloftians share a mental connection to their birds.

    What's super brilliant about this, is that this sequence easily could've just been a full cutscene where you watch Link dive after her and save her. But instead, they made it a full gameplay sequence where YOU dive after her, and YOU save her. That tiny bit of extra player interaction intensifies this scene a thousand fold.

      Reminds me a bit of Midna’s Lament. Granted, there’s no actual time limit to that sequence; no point at which you can see Midna *actually die* if you fail, but the fact that all normal gameplay is interrupted for a sequence in which you have to save her - it’s one of my favorite moments in Twilight Princess, and the Zelda franchise/gaming in general.

    I have played nearly every Zelda game, I have always been a huge fan of the series since picking up Wind Waker in 2nd grade and it means so much more to me than I could express. My wife and I were supposed to go on a camping trip the day that ToTK came out but unfortunately both got covid. I decided to pick up the game and we made an indoor campsite in our living room. This was my wife's first Zelda game, and when we got to this scene we were a mess, I am talking full ugly cry, sniffling because were still ill, and holding trying to hold each other together. After we got a hold of ourselves we just sat there and embraced, I got to share something that has been a big part of my life with the person I chose to spend the rest of it with. This game will forever hold a special place in my heart because of this moment.

    When Zelda says she was sleeping until she was awakened, I guess that means from her perspective, the amount of time that passed between her blacking out from transforming into the Light Dragon and regaining consciousness upon changing back was maybe a few seconds, even though thousands of years had passed? That makes the most sense to me, since she doesn't remember being a dragon. I imagine the most traumatic thing about the experience would have been mentally contemplating undergoing draconification and then the pain she felt when she swallowed the stone, convinced that she would never turn back. I would hope looking at Link's photos of her light dragon form wouldn't be too stressful for her. 😰

    Rauru’s power, Sonia’s time powers and Link’s love were the keys to bring Zelda back from her Draconification.

    • @speedude0164
      @speedude0164 2 місяці тому +2

      Yup. I think when the Light Dragon rushed to Link's aid against the Demon Dragon despite the fact that any trace of Zelda should be gone, Rauru and Sonia came to understand what draconification truly is. It doesn't destroy the individual's spirit, it merely puts it to sleep within their new body, like how their power remains dormant until they find something to truly love and fight for. Therefore, they can use their Light and Time powers to allow Link to reach her Light and Time spirit and have her feel the presence of the one she loves most and sacrificed everything for, finally waking her up.

If you watched during the beginning of the credits you will see Zelda recieving the Master Sword from Link.
