    I thank God for the people who sneaked their cameras into the venues and filmed these tours and that we can now see what they filmed on UA-cam. I was a child back then and would never have known what they were like in those days if it wasn't for this.

    Nobody could touch them live at this time. Nobody. To play that complex, difficult and dynamic music and be able to run around and jump and flail their arms and legs everywhere just shows how much work they put into their live shows. Thanks for posting this. It’s unfortunate there is such little video of Tull from 1972-75.

    Wow!! Thank you guys for bringing these to life!!! So glad we dug them out of the vault. We went to the show with 2 reels and I so regretted not being able to get more. Would loved to have been able to record some of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band who was the stunning opener. I am truly amazed how you were able to deal with all the snippets. Great job!!

      I saw the show in Seattle and the Alex Harvey Band was just awful! they got booed almost from the get go. Alex stopped the "music" and lectured the audience on being uncultured as our country was less than 200 years old. The insult didn't help. I did appreciate his sense of humor though: when he announced that they were about to play their last song there was a deafening roar of approval to which he responded "but its a REALLY long song!" everyone laughed and booed at that. Tull, who came on shortly thereafter, were of course sensational!

      Yeah sensation is great, but this is Jethro Tull. 😆

    I was there! One of the greatest concerts I've been to. In a place notorious for bad acoustics.......it really didn't matter!

    For somebody not familiar this might seem like chaotic fragments with little meaning. For a lifelong fan like me who knows every note, I just reconstructed the entire concert in my head.

    Wow! Some Sea Lion, Skating Away... Ladies - and a quick peek at the lovely attendant that served Ian in those Halcyon Days... I've got some 8mm from Jacksonville shows circa '72-3 I'm gonna have to try to find - if I'm successful, I'll get it along to you.

      Why? Relationships end. People move on. Tull is no more. Just have to face it.

      @E M not gonna disagree with you but Ian is a businessman so he’ll milk the “Jethro Tull” name as much as he can, as should anyone who’s been in the band. If I was part of anything as big as Tull was you can be sure I’d take advantage of that every chance I got. 😎👍🏼

      @E M the current JT lineup bears no resemblence to the great lineups of the past, Martins band are closer tbh

    • @AK99581
      @AK99581 3 роки тому +1

      @E M Well in Ian's mind, as long as he's involved, it's "Jethro Tull". Maybe once upon a time Ian saw it as an actual band, but at this point he clearly thinks of Jethro Tull as an employer/employee situation. I think that's why he decided to stop working with Martin and Doane Perry, because he doesn't want to have to deal with any band members who see themselves as more than simple employees. I'm basing this on things I've heard him say in interviews, where he said he felt uncomfortable having certain band members (ie Martin and Doane) seeing themselves as more senior members then the newer guys. I too wish he'd just retire the Jethro Tull name but legally he owns all the rights. I've never had any interest after Stormwatch anyway, to me Tull died once Ian fired half the band and then went down the synth-rock route.
