Browns were a team we ALL wanted to see succeed. For the fans most of all. The owner is just a terrible owner. No team succeeds when you constantly fire coaches and gms one year into their career. The owner wants instant success but that’s not how things work and when they actually got successful, they traded away their only ever franchise qb who did a lot for the organization and the city. He loved Cleveland and Cleveland loved him. I think we all agree that he should’ve rested and got surgery that year instead of playing but that just shows you his determination. Baker has the last laugh now while the browns are falling back to their old ways
Being from Pittsburgh and being a Steelers fan it always helps when we have a bad season because I always say " It could be worse, we could be the Cleveland Clowns"! 😂

Baker Mayfield is a baller, not a superstar. He is the quintessential underdog. The Browns were doing the grass is greener thing. They ended up finding out that, well, most people don’t change. Once a person is an adult, the best prediction of future words and actions, is past words and actions. And, bad dudes don’t make good QBs. It’s leadership mostly, and decision making. DW is obviously not a good decision maker. And why would professionals follow him?
The Browns are the underdogs so he fit perfect - Too bad the owners had no soul and paid billions for a ego-perv instead of keeping a fighter like Baker. Fools!
Brown’s situation with baker is just such a life lesson. In the moment it’s like why am I being treated this way. But years later in the right place it becomes obvious was the browns all along and not baker that was the problem. What happened was a blessing in disguise to get baker to the right place
Cleveland did Baker dirty. He played with a torn labrum in his off arm which a passer needs to counterweight his throwing arm. It made him uncharacteristically inaccurate and shortened his throws and screwed up his throwing motion. Now that he’s recovered he’s restored his game.
When did they stick with one QB for more than 4 seasons? Was it the year Jerry Jones had his head float in a jar just so he could continue to run the Cowboys into the planet's mantle?
Not the time to talk about this but his injury actually fixes all cap issues they would have because of some injury rules within salary cap. It's silly that you're probably correct. There was no way in heck that they were ever going to bench Watson with that massive contract he has. No matter how bad he is they were going to keep playing him anyway. Now they have no choice but to play Winston, which is very likely an upgrade. The Browns need to realize that Watson is a huge loss and just move on, regardless of the money. I doubt they will though; the team is a much bigger mess than the Raiders are, and that's saying something.
@@hustlinghard8081 To be clear, I didn’t cheer for him getting injured on my comment, you read it again, I was merely stating a fact. That being said, I will cheer on his in this particular case; sexual predators deserve no amount of empathy.

I genuinely do not know what's wrong with this organization, just look at baker he was drafted there and did well give or take then implosion and traded and has been a good QB sense, they then tried bringing in a tried and true good veteran QB and it has gone awful, so neither drafted or veterans work out... I think they need to look at internal factors before anything else.
Also I hate the browns fans that try to justify on letting go of baker he had two bad seasons and both of them were not his fault. His second season there they gave him a head coach with no experience at all coaching and his final season there he had a shoulder injury on his throwing shoulder the only reason he played through it because the browns still had a chance to make the playoffs. Baker gave the browns franchise hope and won yall a playoff game and almost beat cheifs in Kansas city if the WR didn't fumble going for the end zone and gave y'all a huge chance to make the playoffs in a tough division and conference.
After examining years of data, scientific experiments in my lab, and consulting 2 classified think tanks, the conclusion that the analyzed data indicates is..... the GM sucks BLUE WHALE PENIS.
Art Modell has to go down as one of the worst owners ever. And not just for moving the Browns out of Cleveland, or for spending way beyond his means, such that he was eventually forced to sell the Ravens. But he’s probably the only owner to fire not one, but two of the greatest coaches to ever coach the game: Paul Brown and Bill Belichick.
Bill was a lame duck, as the team was moving. Modell, isn’t worst than Irsay… He also fired Brown, yes. In context, Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry, At the time, it was necessary (power struggle)… Bill wasn’t Bill yet… a tad bit of revisionist history. He did take Ozzie Newsome with him, made him GM of a highly successful franchise. The turnover to Steve Bischotti, the current majority owner, wasn’t a hostile takeover, lol, and he wasn’t the only owner to ever sell his franchise due to financial hardship. I get that fans are angry, but all fans should be angry at owners like Irsay, Modell, why? Because they are forced to rely on local fans tax dollars to finance their new stadiums. When Baltimore citizens balked, Irsay took the team and all the history to Indianapolis. Cleveland residents, did the same, didn’t vote for it… and Modell moved his franchise ~ to a city that suffered the same fate 12 years earlier. To this day, I still dislike the Irsays, not because they moved the team, because they took the history. At least the Browns have their history. I feel for Browns fans, because the organization is run horribly ~ stark contrast to what Ozzie has built in Baltimore… But you can’t blame Modell for the proceeding 25 years of piss poor management.
I know this isn't going to mean much to many of you... but I was a Browns fan at birth and put up with all the chaos, every year, and it was always the same old same old. When they did Baker dirty that was it for me. Wrote them off then and there and I hope they continue to wonder "What if" when it comes to Mayfield. I know the dude is doing great in Tampa now, but the Browns had something. Per usual, they quite literally dropped the buck.

Nothing is misleading when the NFL proved that his actions off the field with the numerous amounts of women repeatedly and maliciously violated its personal conduct policy.
@@Bigherm15 Thanks for your comment. I’m not defending any wrongdoing, but it’s important to recognize the complexity of the legal system. Deshaun Watson has not been criminally convicted, and several cases were dismissed or settled, which doesn’t automatically mean guilt. The NFL’s conduct policy operates independently of the court system, and while they found violations, this doesn’t equate to a legal conviction either. We need to be careful about using terms like ‘predator’ when the legal process didn’t result in criminal charges. It’s about sticking to facts rather than presuming guilt without all the evidence.
@@edwardgaines6561 I’m not condoning abuse in any way. Abuse is a serious issue and should never be dismissed. My point is about the legal process, settling a case doesn’t necessarily imply guilt, and paying settlements can sometimes be a legal strategy rather than an admission of wrongdoing. We should be careful about equating settlements with guilt without knowing all the facts or seeing the evidence fully presented in court.
His name is Sipe, like site with a P instead of a T. I lived this, and no Vinny was a scrub who took over for the third best QB in Browns history, Bernie Kosar. Belichick didn't like that Kosar was smarter and knew more about the game than him, so he benched then traded him. Kosar's last play as a QB for Cleveland was a play he drew up in the dirt after Belichick called a run play on 3rd and long. He threw a TD to Micheal Jackson and then was benched. Had the Browns won AFC championship game over Denver and then a Superbowl, he would be in the HOF. Screw you dude!!!! I never wanted Watson just like half my friends!!! I’m a Steelers fan that lives in eastern Ohio, so I’m always very aware of what the Browns are up to. I’ve often wondered if it’s not actually some sort of money laundering/tax evasion scheme that the owners have going on with making of all of these clearly horrible decisions.
I remember when Browns fans were touting Charlie Frye as "the real MAC quarterback" or whatever when Ben Roethlisberger was in his third or fourth season.
You have the timeline for the Watson/Mayfield debacle backwards. Watson requested a trade just before the allegations came out against him. That’s why the browns felt they had to offer a fully guaranteed contract. After they signed him there was a short period of time before they traded Baker.
As a browns fan… you finally said it right at the end…. It used to be easy to feel bad…. But not anymore!! Not after throwing away baker for Watson….!! Most fans never wanted to move on from baker… and are more sick and tired of browns bullshit and blunders, especially now, then ever before…! Sure we wanted Watson benched a month ago, when it was pretty clear something’s just off…. Whether that being his mind, just not seeing the game and field quick as needed after missing 75% of games the past 4 years, or what… but dammit him getting hurt is probably the least helpful thing… now it’s going to be the same exact shit next year…. “How’s he rehabbing?! Is he gonna be ready!? Is he still rusty!?” If for some reason ownership still wont admit failure and goes back to him week 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, next year, however long until he’s ‘healthy’…. Yes!! He will still be rusty!! He will always be rusty! At that point next year he’ll have played 1 seasons worth of games in 5 years….
I’m a Giants fan and I know how bad it is for them, but knowing the Cleveland Browns history makes me feel a little better about how bad the Giants are now.

Browns deserve all of what is happening to them. They had a hell of QB in Baker, but one down year and they kick him to the curve. I'm glad Baker is having a career resurgence in Tampa
Baker was an asshole in Cleveland
And Baker was hurt!
Only 23 minutes, Mike?
Seriously, that could have been a two-hours, multiple episodes series...
The Browns are the Browns. It wasn't cool when Ju-Ju said it, but he wasn't wrong.
Was thinking the same thing. Mike is an excellent story teller and he got too trigger happy with the Browns situation. Could have done well with making this a multi part series.
You forgot about Bernie Kosar and what he accomplished with Cleveland. He's still God in Cleveland!
This UA-cam creator operates off of wikipedia apparently. No real football knowledge.

D. Watson NFL's very own P. Diddy
The owner has done all this, he's a dumpster fire....

Great, great great presentation. Funny thing, through several parts, I kept thinking, insert NY Jets😎
Drafted him first overall and gave him lots of chances and then moved on. Yeah he was done so dirty. Nobody should be treated that poorly lol
I wish nothing but the best for Baker. He deserves it.
The year is 9999
The Cleveland Browns have had 11,500 qb’s since 1999 and have not won a playoff game since 2020 and not made the playoffs since 2023
When did they stick with one QB for more than 4 seasons? Was it the year Jerry Jones had his head float in a jar just so he could continue to run the Cowboys into the planet's mantle?
Man poor Dan. He just cant escape that safety moment lol. Also great video. Didnt really know any of the browns history

@@chrislong8559thats why we haven't seen him yet. We're gonna see now.
Regardless of how you feel about someone it's shitty to cheer on an injury. There is absolutely no empathy left in this country. It's a shame
As a Steelers fan, I've always enjoyed watching Browns games over the years even when we werent playing them. They play an oldschool style of football thats just nostalgic. Feels like Thanksgiving. Seems like someone moved a totem from Cleveland back in the 90s and forever cursed the team! Whats it gonna take, Lamar being sent to Cleveland?! lol
They should of stuck it out with Joe Flacco

Facts
The title of this video seems to unfairly suggest a connection between Deshaun Watson's injury and past allegations. @@C007MiamiMoods No.
@@C007MiamiMoodsAlso no.
@@C007MiamiMoods I am criticizing the Browns.
Man Mike you are something special.
What's the mystery? They can't get the positions of general manager, head coach, and QB correct. Other than that, there are no issues. 🤣
After examining years of data, scientific experiments in my lab, and consulting 2 classified think tanks, the conclusion that the analyzed data indicates is.....
the GM sucks BLUE WHALE PENIS.
Great story telling video
Art Modell has to go down as one of the worst owners ever. And not just for moving the Browns out of Cleveland, or for spending way beyond his means, such that he was eventually forced to sell the Ravens.
But he’s probably the only owner to fire not one, but two of the greatest coaches to ever coach the game: Paul Brown and Bill Belichick.
Fired Marty Scottenheimer too
Bill was a lame duck, as the team was moving.
Modell, isn’t worst than Irsay…
He also fired Brown, yes. In context, Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry, At the time, it was necessary (power struggle)…
Bill wasn’t Bill yet… a tad bit of revisionist history.
I feel for Browns fans, because the organization is run horribly ~ stark contrast to what Ozzie has built in Baltimore…
But you can’t blame Modell for the proceeding 25 years of piss poor management.
I like your videos like this where it focuses on the history and not just a drama headline
Dennis Allen and the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers are close seconds.

@@C007MiamiMoods The response that your wrote suggests that you are defending a predator. His past allegations where not proceeded further because the woman where not willing to come out in front of the world. He has also used his right to not self incriminate. It’s important to note that The NFL conducted its own investigation and found he violated its personal conduct policy.
19:48 The Browns traded for Watson AFTER his scandal went public. In fact WTson sat a whole season on the bench in Houston during the mess.

Geez, I always joke that your videos always start by going way back in history before getting to the topic, but this one really goes waaaay back 😅
Trent dilfer won a SB with the Baltimore Ravens. Of course the browns would want him to be their QB.
You have the timeline for the Watson/Mayfield debacle backwards. Watson requested a trade just before the allegations came out against him. That’s why the browns felt they had to offer a fully guaranteed contract. After they signed him there was a short period of time before they traded Baker.
Important to note also , is that the browns knew about all of his allegations before they threw all that money at him
As a browns fan… you finally said it right at the end….
