the problem isn't the camera, the problem is storing 1440p footage. That'd require MANY terrabytes of footage, that's why they record in lower resolution.

@@pkdustin7559 bro.. I said 144p not 1440p and besides, there’s many more factors that determine data storage requirements than resolution.. bit depth / compression makes a far greater impact as does frame rate .. a lot of security cameras records 8fps for this reason.. modern tech allows for much better res to be recorded onto cheap and plentiful media.. look at drones recording 4k onto micro SD cards for eg

As some one who works in a casino, this is 100% true. All table games have perfect coverage and many times multiple cameras per table, because it has to do with the casinos and governments money. Slots have good coverage on jackpots and all machines, but sometimes iffy. Anything that isn’t gaming floor related, coverage can be bad, and usually with the oldest cameras on them. Still doesn’t mean we can’t see things that are happening though, and we usually have enough cameras to follow someone from entering the building until leaving.

Yeah except that's not how getting black out drunk works. There's zero defense for this guy's actions, but it's entirely plausible he doesn't actually remember, because of how intoxication can affect memory.
"Alcohol-related blackouts are gaps in a person's memory for events that occurred while they were intoxicated. These gaps happen when a person drinks enough alcohol to temporarily block the transfer of memories from short-term to long-term storage-known as memory consolidation-in a brain area called the hippocampus."

One of my bestfriends(Jacob) is doing 28 years in prison for a manslaughter charge. Jacob and another buddy(Ty) of mine were at a bar and got into a situation just like this. Started getting all egotistical and macho after a few drinks then they fought in the ally out back. Ty got hit and laid out in a puddle of water then died. Literally drowned to death in a puddle of water. Jacob took off to take a piss when Ty went down then forgot all about it while stumbling home. I lost two great friends that night over something absolutely ignorant. This is why I won't fight on concrete and don't hang out at bars or with drunks.

Police don't come to a casino until Security calls. It's Security's responsibility. How do I know? I used to work in Las Vegas casinos more than 17 years. If Security Dept was smart enough to hire prior Police or Military (mostly Marines or Army) they would been able maintain this issue. However, these days, Security mostly hired who ever they like even they're just regular mom & pops.😅 This is why I left.

I worked a small casino surveillance department for a while, 12 hour shifts 580 cameras 3 computer stations with 2 monitors, 6 flat screen TVs with entrance areas and table games, I worked with state gaming police, when they would call looking for someone I would have them a video starting with the persons face at entry all the way through the building upstairs, into the hotel, back out and into their car, burn it on a disc and hand it over by the time they talked to the MOD and walked up the stairs to me. There is no way this is “ramped up security” from fears of the shooting in 2017, because surveillance should’ve had immediate eyes and been following him from the first report, I can’t stress how easy it was to track down or identify someone, with a description. And a location and relative time even with 20 year old and equipment even some black and white cameras. That security guard calling it in, dispatch and security would call “center bar gunshot” and surveillance would’ve had tape and pictures ready for the cops, but these cops literally said “ I talked to the guys and surveillance and they didn’t even know what was going on”. Thats by far absolutely the worst, most lax security of ANY casino I’ve ever been in, and the fact they had him on so many cameras but had no idea he had even done anything defeats and destroys any claim of enhanced security at this casino. You can shoot someone at their bar in the center of the casino, pack your bags, and walk out of there and they still wouldn’t even know you were there. WOW 👎.

I was an Investigator for a major casino and this is crazy negligence by Hard Rock. 21:40 the officer said “their surveillance guys didn’t even know about this” . That’s crazy. Typically surveillance focuses on the money. So on the casino floor they watch the tables , the banks, the machines etc. while Security Control focuses on exits/entrances, the perimeter and anything off of the casino floor .Typically security doesn’t have access to the cameras on the casino floor. Surveillance should be notified by security and immediately start conducting video review to attempt to track the suspect and notify law enforcement. We would have the video clipped and his identification before the police even responded to conduct review . It’s also a good idea to keep a small police presence at these places at all times. It helps deter some of these scumbags .

What a surprise, the time anyone would ever try to commit a crime in a casino (8 AM) someone gets murdered and escapes because the security was probably half asleep and not doing their jobs. Things never change, and if you're gonna work security retire before you start getting lazy. Unfortunately most security guards are fat slobs

As someone who worked casino surveillance for 5+ years...
Does this casino have a live surveillance team? Why wasn't active correspondence between surveillance and police had? This situation feels like it was fumbled by either the police or surveillance department assuming the latter even exists. I know for a fact and with personal experience that any surveillance team worth half their weight in salt would have capability to perform a tracking review and determine the shooter's location via camera coverage, especially considering the slow pace the shooter was taking to get to his destination. It would've avoided all of this breach and search as well as the false positive on the suspect.
Edit: 21:40 the officer mentions that the surveillance team knew nothing about the situation. Why do they even exist on that property? Shameful.

bless your heart @POLOAZTECA - my comment was specifically in regards to the unnecessary aggression exhibited by the officers, escalating the situation for no reason due to their poor training and thirst for a power trip.
there are MANY victims in this video. the man who got shot had long passed away by the time i’m referring to.

Not at all. Mind you I am in recovery myself so I am aware of the dangers of alcohol. The vast majority of people that drink do not murder people for no reason. This is not the lesson to take. This guy had bigger issues, alcohol is no excuse for what he did.

"Only 55 years". Yeah, that's pretty standard. Actually, 25-35 years is pretty standard. Where tf have you been? I've noticed the people who watch true crime UA-cam have an extremely skewed idea of the justice system and somehow believe that LWOP or the death penalty are very common. They aren't. Never have been. And shouldn't be because obviously, us having much longer prison sentences than many others countries does f all to deter crime. Maybe if we put some effort into actual rehabilitation of criminals then we could have more functioning members who contribute to society as opposed to just wasting even more lives.
