The siren is an air raid siren from World War Two. The lead guitar player is the great Tony Iommi (eye-OWE-me) who by consensus invented metal and wrote the music. The great bassist is Geezer (Terry) Butler, who was also the lyrics writer. The great drummer is Bill Ward. And the singer is Ozzy (John) Osbourne. This was from 1970!
Part of the Sabbath sounds comes from the tuning of their instruments. Guitarist Toni Iommi had an accident at work cutting the tips of several fingers off is fretting hand. He would use prostetic tips and tuned his guitar a half step down to loosen the tension on the strings making it slightly easier to press, bend and such. It also resulted in a darker, heavier sound than people were use to at the time and helping create the heavy metal sound/ genre.
Those sirens at the beginning were air raid sirens, used to let people know that enemy airplanes are coming. Some places in the U.S. use them for tornadoes, I think. This is a song where you need the lyrics.
Idk how to request songs but you should check out Sleep Token. They rap, they’re a metal band, and they play stuff that you’ve never heard before. I’m 200% positive you’ll love it. Check out The Summoning or Ascensionism.
One of the Best Live covers of this song can be found on Gov't Mule's "The Deepest End" concert . Metalica's Jason Newstead is the guest bassist for the song & the Mule Crush it . Great Sound as it's shot for the bands dvd of the same name .
Great reaction, and if you liked this song, please start at the beginning the first album is Black Sabbath and the first song is Black Sabbath. Each song is auditory experience that gets better with each song. I would really like to see you react to Black Sabbath, Thanks again.
You really should review Iron Butterfly’s song In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. I think you would like it. There is a black and white video of it with 17 minutes of incredible music. The drummer, Ron Bushy, was incredible with one of the best drum solos ever on that song.
Toni Iommi, greatest riff guitarist ever, Geezer Butler, greatest bassist ever, Bill Ward, greatest drummer ever. Finally, Ozzy, 2nd greatest front man ever. Freddy Mercury existed after all. If you want this live. Paris 1970. Different lyrics, bit Bill Ward and Toni go crazy on it.
Congratulations on 10,000 Subs. I've been on the ride with you since the beginning. Try some April Wine..Roller. Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out 🙏 ✌️ ☮️

"War Pigs" is an eternal song that begins in a few days, please reference the Scorpions song "Winds of Change" for your or your granchildrens hopeful potential future.
This came out the year that I was born. America was in Vietnam, a very horrific war and a shameful spot in our history, the unacceptable way we treated the veterans when they came home. One of many shameful times in our history. Some are acting the fool once again. Vote America!!! Vote like your freedom depends on it, because it does. Vote blue for our country and it's future!

They didn't tune down until the 3rd album and not all the songs on that. Vol 4 is dropped to C sharp as are the next two albums.
