What trips me out is that he and John Bonham were not only friends (Top two greatest bands for me in Rock/Metal) but that both were "Jazz" drummers essentially along with Neal Peart.
Yes you were right, it is an anti-war song. People in power playing these games, and then sending mostly the poor people to fight for them. The video is fan made. The singer is Ozzy Osbourne. You maybe heard of him because of that tv show. Here he was in his prime. Black sabbath were the beginners of heavy metal music. They were one of the starters of this ish. Also their drummer is legendary. Well actually the whole band is pretty legendary. Nice reaction. I would suggest you listen to N.I.B. by them next.
wait Ozzy that had a tv show back in the day…? I remember seeing it a few times when I was younger but never knew of him before that! hope you enjoyed! 👍🏾
**KickAss** song i am pretty sure this a fan made video tho...ya should check them out **Live in Paris 1970** one of THE most **BadAss** performances ever **RockON!!!** Oh & yes def a protest type song indeed
This was an incredible band Tony Iommi was the guitar player who played let handed who lost the tips of his fingers when he was younger and he played with the tips covered up
Check out THE BIG PUSH (Ren's band!) Cover of this! A mash up of "War Pigs", "Paroniod" and Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name Of"! It's fucking awesome! (You know thats Ozzy Osborne singing right?) ❤❤❤❤
Always My favorite Black Sabbath track. Definitely a Anti War song during heart of Vietnam which was a hugely Unpopular War. " Why dont they go out to Fight , They leave the Judgment to the Poor " And How the machine brainwashes the Masses to accept war and Violence as necessary , Ironically to protect Freedom, when Its Really about domination and economics . If You want to check out aqmodern interpretation of this theme , just as wild, is B.Y.O.B. by system of the Down. The video and music will trip You out for Sure ! Peace and positive Vibes , Brother !✌🎶🎧📻🎤🎸🎹🎺🎻🪕🥁🙂
War Pigs could refer to those who participate in the military industrial complex. They're British, but all developed Nations has similar factions within their government intent on profiting from war. War is Big Business and in their mind it's better to rule in Hell than to serve in heaven. Seen them at the Black and Blue concert. Molly Hatchet started it off then Blue Oyster Cult finishing up with Black Sabbath. Only Sabbath didn't quite finish before the monsoon hit with 70 and 80 mph winds. Outdoor ball stadium. Our group about a dozen brought a couple tarps just in case. But most were stampeding for cover from the flying dirt and debris. And then on the infield where we were standing through Molly Hatchet a large wall of speakers blew over. Sabbath that just cleared the stage seconds earlier. Within a minute they were announcing on the stadiums PA system to hang on to ticket stubs because they'll come back and do it again. And a few months later they did for free. They were almost finished that night. I doubt any fans would have been sad. But wow. Respect 🚜🤠🐂
The young people of today think they have it bad, but the fog of Vietnam and all the tv coverage followed me all through high school. Imagine the military yanking you into a ridiculously cruel war with no recourse for you if you weren't rich and/or have bone spurs. I worried so much about the draft, I went and volunteered for three years in the Army and the recruiter told me I would not have to go to Vietnam. Six months later I flew into Cam Ranh Bay. This song addresses that terror every 18 year old male had in the late 60s and the early 70s.
New sub here - love Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin and so many more!! I got some fire songs to suggest but most reactors do their own thing I get it. "Sweat Leaf" Ozzy wrote about smoking weed and "Fairies wear boots" is based on his real experience according to Ozzy. "The Wizard" is another straight banger along with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. They even had some great songs with Ronny James Dio singing. R.I.P.
For sure. I wish reactors would stop with the music videos completely. It's channelled them all into boring lane of just listening to the same damn shit over and over. It's not about the music at all, it's just about the videos.
Sabbath is an awesome band
Guitarist - Tony Iommi
Drummer - Bill Ward
Singer - Ozzy Osbourne
Bassist - Gezzer Butler
Best anti-war song imo every verse had great lyrics and delivery
Anti war you got it buddy 🤘
this song should be required listening for everyone who resides on this planet.
Mighty Bill Ward on drums! Tune in to listen to him anytime!🔥

this song came out during the Vietnam War.
Yes, Bill Ward is a beast on drums
Excellent reaction! "Hand of Doom" next, please. Another Sabbath masterpiece.🤘😎🤘

This song and a lot of Black Sabbath songs were about war and in justice in the world in the 1960-70s..but it is in a way still revelant today
Black Sabbath 1968-eternity🤘
I bought my uncles old 8 track BLACK SABBATH PARANOID back in 1979 at his garage sale. I was 10 years old, I've been a Huge fan ever since.
Sadly this is more relevant today than when it was made.
After Robert Plant, Ozzy is the best voice in metal.

This song is great, but this video adds so much to it!
Great song and reaction
Bill Ward is amazing.

Try "Killer of Giants" another great anti-war song by Ozzy!
this came out long before you were born. not surprising you haven't heard it. i was in high school when this came out. they were sooo good!
Now do the live Paris version. Won't regret it.
Sabbath where first bandto play this kind of music which was later called heavy metal
OZZY!!
"Ohhhh, what happened herrree" Authoritarianism. Authoritarianism happened here.
Welcome to my childhood.

Ozzy Osbourne will never die.
Archaeologists will be digging up our bones, while they listen to Ozzy on the radio, griping in some interview.
Check out the live Paris show of this song.
💯
How many times do you say ok in this video
I thought the song was ‘OK”!
Check out the big push version (Ren) of this song. They do it justice.🎉
Nice going brotha!!!
Hand of doom next please
The video is a distraction and not their video but some random person's creation.
always have the lyrics when doing sabbath there is always a warning, message or a story geezer the bass player writes most of the lyrics
THe never say die tour was insane but Ozzy was getting bored inside the band.
Gawd, it's that stupid fan based video again. These videos just take away from the music
and he is watching it like it is telling the story of the song hahahahaha
For sure. I wish reactors would stop with the music videos completely. It's channelled them all into boring lane of just listening to the same damn shit over and over. It's not about the music at all, it's just about the videos.
You lost me after you said ok 20 times in a row.
That video diminishes the song completely…the incongruence is destabilizing! 😂 please just do the 🎵…
