    There's tons of e-cymbal options available out there by now, so looks & triggering apart:
    🗣 How LOUD will the different brands & models physically be while playing - let's say at home in your appartment? (late at night 4am, after you've just returned from a party where they played this sensational Sepultura / Slayer playlist, that inspired you to play some bad ass metal grooves at home RIGHT AWAY! You get the idea...) 👉 👂👀
    We've kept it simple yet consistent, put up all those different e-cymbals on a Zeitgeist AD3 e-kit, and mic'ed them up with a pair of studio standard condenser microphones (Beyerdynamic M930) 🎤🎤🎚 🎛
    Recording levels & mic distance have been equal for all cymbals, there's no further eq/mixing applied. You'll be able to get a representative and comprehensive impression of all the e-cymbal options and their respective noise levels while watching & listening, feel free to skip around in the video too.

    The Clear Winner is ZEITGEIST Antique. Very very quiet and it seems to be a real haptic. NICE :-) These would be my ones, when I buy a edrum for my home.

    As expected, Yamaha was the clear winner (if you prefer less noisy cymbals). It wasn't even a competition.

    The Yamaha are very silent! Maybe is because the size. And the ATV sound loud but it seems they have the most realistic bounce! Thanks for the great performance in the comparison!

    Ich bin damals mit der festen Absicht zu euch gekommen um ein Gewa Set zu kaufen. Aber die Lautstärke der Cymbals hat mich echt erschreckt. In einer Mietwohnung echt unbrauchbar. Das Jam3 mit den Zeitgeist Cymbals ist es geworden. Später wird auf CAD Zeitgeist geupdatet.

    What do you think about GEWA's cymbals? I have Yamahas, but not very enthusiastic about them, they hotspot too much. How about GEWA in this regard? (Or eFnote? )

    Would be nice if you could put an analyser in the screen with the frequency response. What you perceive as loud, eg. Zeitgeist, is just in a different frequency to the others. Zeitgeist, between 750hz and 7.5k. While the others are more between 250 and 750hz. But not necessarily a higher db level...

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  11 місяців тому +4

      Right, yet this is more of a "what you hear is what you get" comparison 😃 but why not? If one wants to dive deeper into detail / frequency spectrum analysis, I don't see why you shouldn't load the video audio into your DAW to analyse transient energy & frequency range. Should work just fine I guess, kind regards!

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  11 місяців тому +1

      I think differences are pretty interesting and pretty obvious in some cases, especially regarding hihat & ride cymbal noise level differences. While Yamaha seems to be the quitest of them all, Gewa cymbals for example are more on the louder side, while most of the others are somewhere in between (except ZG CAD, which is completely different because of their metal surface obviously). Kind regards!
