    Hi! Good day. I would like to ask if you soak your clay in water before using it? because observing it in the video I can see that its very moist and easy to be manipulated. Hope you can give some tips regarding this matter. Thanks.

      Hello, no I just wedge my clay before I start working, if it's too hard I spray a bit of water and knead it vigorously.

    Oh what kind of clay is that? My air dry clay seems really rough in comparison and it doesn't sand all too well but yours looks so smooth :O

    I'm new to your site and enjoy your work. Only that the elevator music pretty much detracts from the enjoyment. It would have been nicer to hear your pleasant voice explaining what you're doing, as well as the sounds of rubbing and rattling the tools you work with. Anyway thank you for absolutely enjoyable videos

      @ulyssesgunt 4 місяці тому +5

      I totally agree…so many videos use background “ noise “ , when the content just does not NEED it … let’s see your art and hear you speak ..🙏🏻

    • @YoungDymisty
      @YoungDymisty 4 місяці тому +5

      I’m not too sure who you watch on UA-cam, but nearly every single UA-camr I watch uses music and I’m subbed to and watch a lot 😅. And it’s pretty common especially if there would be dead silence throughout.
      I prefer it personally as I hate just being sat in silence as my mind wanders and I get distracted lol, but it’s more of a hindrance if it’s louder than the person explaining something, so I understand. Some crafters use just music without a voiceover but then put the instructions in the subtitles. Which may be better for people like you who prefer no music because then you can just mute the video if you don’t like it, and use the subtitles if you’re stuck.
      Also tip for you, I have discovered some UA-camrs who put “no music or ASMR” in the title, so there’s no music to contend with. And also turning on subtitles could help if it’s not edited into the video if your struggling to hear them. Sorry for the long response, but hopefully this helps.😊

    • @YoungDymisty
      @YoungDymisty 4 місяці тому +2

      @@ulyssesgunt not everyone likes to speak in their videos though and some people don’t like subtitles either or dead silence, so not everybody will be completely content online unfortunately. As for me personally, I like having Music in the videos because I get bored\ distracted easily if it’s too quiet and it’s relaxing…usually. 😅
      But I prefer to learn visually and don’t mind VoiceOvers as opposed to reading subtitles, if they have a digestible timbre, and don’t have a monotone voice. I watched a channel recently that had a monotone VoiceOver and people didn’t enjoy it either so it was hard to watch. But as I mentioned in the other comment, there are some channels that specifically say in their titles that they don’t have Music or anything in them so you might prefer them. There’s only a couple of channels that I’ve been able to watch without sound and it’s restoration of art or old items 😂.
      Alas, I hope you’ll be able to find content you enjoy watching though! 😊

    I don’t understand why you use air dry clay. When super sculpey and other polymer clays are so much easier. I know you must have an explanation. You are an amazing artist! Please let me know why you chose air dry clays. Thank you

    • @Melitaart
      @Melitaart  Рік тому +26

      I love polymer clay it's just that... when you start working on larger pieces you have to start considering other mediums because you have to bake it and I couldn't baked my pieces anymore in my small oven since I was working full bodys and then it happens... polymer clay cracks... repairing a crack on polymer clay it's a nightmare specially if you're working on commissions... Nobody shows that aspect of the medium and believe me I was cautious when working and flakes I mean air bubbles kept on appearing a lot and that weakens your work I couldn'twork on larger projects because baking repeatedly weakens your work as well. So I switched to Epoxy clay and just couldn't stand it, it was ruin all my things had to use gloves etc... So Air dry clay and I had were a match we had a very difficult relationship at the beginning but eventually it became easier and my first option, I don't have to worry about the size of my projects anymore, it's strong and I can work it forever... I can make all the changes I want there's no restrictions, like literally I've been working on a head for over 2 years. Thank you, blessings 💚
