    I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you making a male porcelain doll, there’s such a lack of male dolls in the doll world (especially porcelain) so it makes me incredible happy whenever I see someone make one 💜
    Not to mention Friedrick is so handsome ✨

    As a ceramic sculptor myself, I just want to say that you set an incredibly high standard in every thing you create. Your sculpting is beautiful and your molds are frankly wonderful. An amazing attention to detail too. Wonderful to watch. And also talking about safety is very important and not enough ceramics artists talk about it, so good on you for that!❤

    There’s something magical about porcelain dolls that 3D printed dolls just cannot recreate.

    • @wanderingintime
      @wanderingintime 7 місяців тому +43

      I agree. interestingly however, if sanded right, 3d printed resin is still more realistic than apoxie sculpt and certain other clays because of the ability for light to pass through. I work in a museum and repair for ex bones. I attached 3d printed bones to real bone via apoxie sculpt (and other archival adhesive) and it irked me that even under layers of paint, there was a point where light would not pass the same at the opaque clay location.

    • @derpestarzt
      @derpestarzt 6 місяців тому +10

      @@wanderingintime but her technique and the materials means the faceup is forever, doesn't chip etc, also the porcelain feels different that any resin, resin is basically plastic while porcelain has a timeless ethereal quality to it.

    • @butterberrydolls
      @butterberrydolls 6 місяців тому +39

      Every material has its own purpose and reason, one is not better than the other. Porcelain takes a very long time to complete and is a very expensive product, often the artist cannot reliably sell to make a living. 3D printed resin dolls are often faster to make and are more affordable to people who would not be able to afford a porcelain doll. This way the artist can still afford to live and continue making porcelain work :)

      @@derpestarztI never negated the fact that porcelain was 'magical.' it is super cool! I was stating that resin is realistic in the fact that it allows light to pass in a similar fashion to porcelain, unlike opaque clays like apoxie sculpt/milliput/grey polymer. I didnt say anything bad about porcelain. (I think the word 'but' has given me the idea that you thought I was saying porcelain wasnt as good as something?)

    You are a potter and a seamstress and a tailor and a cobbler and a cosmetologist and a makeup artist and a doll maker. There are many within all of these that I’ve missed, I’m sure. But to say you are a master of many trades is an understatement. I admire anyone with the skill, vision and talent to see this project through to the end. It really is miraculous. I absolutely love it and I am so in awe. This is so gorgeous wow! I can't believe how long, how much patience, practice and everything that it takes. I feel so emotional and stunned and I am not even exaggerating! Both of them are amazing, the details that you added to each part and the coloring stage! I am so impressed aaaaa

    Your work is beautiful! I'm used to seeing repaint videos with Monster High dolls or other fashion dolls, but I had never seen someone sculpting such a beautiful doll from scratch out of porcelain. When you said you had to burn each paint layer and that the process took week, it reminded of other doll artists that use Mr Super Clear sealant between each layer. The difference is that the stakes here are much higher, you cannot remove the paint after it burns. I was just mesmerized by the process. Subscribed!

    I tried making a doll out of polymer clay, it was just nightmare fuel and people were scared of it, one kid told me that I shouldn’t be wasting my talents on things like that and I should burn it and burry it in a hole, lol

    I always have crazy huge respect for BJD Artists. This artform cannot be belittled by a single soul in God's green earth. It transcends and overlaps other skills in order to reach peak perfection and the hours spent is outrageous. Marina Bychkova once said something like: Doll-making demands the crafter to learn many skills so the artform is much serious and never boring. Hurts to hear people, who are not fans and who aren't even interested, say bad things when they find out how much these preciousness costs. I'm a new fan of yours and a long-time fan of the artform. Will be waiting for future works from you, for sure! 🖤

    This video blew my mind. I have no words to add. The clothes and shoes alone were amazing pieces of art. I loved your process. I still cannot understand how the hands and feet hooked to the body it was too fast. Your talent is truly exceptional for the hands. Best hands I have ever seen. You are very talented. I always wanted to know how porcelain was created. And difference with bisque and porcelain. And Wedgwood porcelains being blue not transparent white.

    Doll making is so intricate and I feel like you have to learn many skills just to master it. Truly one of the more difficult hobbies but I want to make dolls like these someday

    Your attention to detail is impressive. You're an artisan in many ways, especially with pocelain casts and refinement. It was nice to find this. I'm impressed. I'm continuing to work in ceramics I might email you in the future.
