Thanks a ton for sharing your process in these videos and especially your experience with making your own tools and clay. I would like to be working with clay that is sturdy and not fragile and so I am excited to try your recipe! I also appreciate that you show a lot of real time footage of yourself working on your pieces because this really allows me to understand your movement process while you are applying different techniques to achieve your sculpts. Impressive translation of your 2D artwork to your 3D sculpts too. I saw that on the first video i watched of yours where you were making a chubby sneering kid. Thanks from New Mexico!
Save your egg shells, i keep mine, just a quick rinse, let them dry and either have fun crushing them in a air tight bag or put them in a food processor. Easy 😅❤😊
Feeling lucky to find your channel doing sculpturing from some time but i want to make it my career ..u r a great teacher i learn many bafic and deep things from u
Hello, like everyone else a sincere thank you for sharing. It opens up a wonderful world of creativity for me. I have a question: what quantities should I take into account, the one in the description of the video or the one shown in the 1:23 video, because they're different. I wish you a wonderful, enriching and creative year.
Hi, follow the quantities listed in the description box, I've also pin the link of the updated version of the recipe. ua-cam.com/video/hwuFQH6X2O4/v-deo.htmlsi=ZU3vYkn47P3LANbI Thank you so much for your beautiful wishes 💚 I also wish a wonderful year full of joy, adventures and love.
Maybe mineral oil will work better for the color? It's clear like baby oil too Also will magnesium carbonate (gym chalk instead of normal chalk) work instead?
Melita i found making the paper stumps very handy, they are usually used for blending charcoal n pencil etc. Very easy to make, its just a very tightly rolled piece of paper in to the shape of a pencil, wonderful for blending and smoothing ❤
Hi, well whenever I add a layer of clay I always try my best to spread it as evenly as possible using very little water, once I'm satisfied with wherever I was working on, I finish the smoothing with a soft brush soaked in water. Before I sand something I always smooth the surface with a damp fabric. Thank soOo much for commenting. Blessings
Hi, no, you can't use plaster of paris because it'll start to harden and it will ruin the clay. You can try gym chalk, it looks pretty similar to the chalk I'm using...
I have put varnish on top of the acrylic, when the varnish is dry, I can peel it off using my fingernails. Can you give me some tips so that the varnish doesn't peel?
Yeah I get what you're saying it has happened to me as well, it's mainly due to the varnish you're using it's probably soluble with water those types of varnish usually peel of. I recommend you to switch to a spray coating. 💚
Olá! Tudo bem? Quero fazer essa receita , o Calcium Carbonate é um produto usado na parede ou na cozinha? Aí no seu país , você compra este produto onde? Por quanto tempo posso armazena - la? Sou do Brasil , Obrigada!
Since the clay contains glue in a pretty high proportion when you work with it applying water the glue reactivates and things get really sticky, so oil helps to prevent all that stickiness...
Wonderful. Thank You for taking the time to make this video

Hello. Just found your account here. I would like to ask if you use resin for air dry clay kitchenware, is it safe to use it for food?
Awesome!

I use Rust oleum spray coatings, mate (chalky finish) or shiny depending on your project.
@@Melitaart how about padico varnish
Your clay is great! Is chalk in powder the same as school chalk for kids?
It's not precisely the same because kids' chalk contains some additives, but it'll work. Gym chalk it's more alike.
Thank you so much.Where are you from?Your english is wonderful!
hmmm, limestone can be toxic. I wonder if gym chalk (magnesium chloride) would be a better alternative.
Is there a trick to getting 2 ears that match?

Could you tell me why you use oil is it air dray clay that doesn't need oil just water

Do you nake it in oven?
Most of the time I leave it dry naturally, but sometimes I bake it when I'm on a hurry lower than 100 degrees.
cant you use some kind of acid like lemon juice or vinegar to stop molding ? i see that a lot
She doesn't add any flour or cornstarch may be that's why
