A/C Service For 2002 Toyota 4 Runner

This 2002 Toyota 4-Runner 4x4’s A/C worked faithfully for almost 20 years. Recently, the owner noticed it would not get cold anymore during the summer, and around August, no cold air at all was coming out of the vents. I looked for obvious “visible” issues like wet hose fittings or oil dripping from compressor input shaft. My fear was the problem was located under dash at evaporator coil. I told the owner of possible costs involved when sending to the dealer, the length of the troubleshooting time, and the $100/hr rate just to diagnose the issue. I suggested the $6 fix. I let him know if may not fix the problem, but it was very cost effective if it solved his issue…and he accepted. We let the system depressurize after 2 weeks in preparation for this attempt. This will jot fix every situation, but like I said, there were no visible signs of leakage. Enjoy the video!
