Nice review. Rio had batches 23-901 and 23-902 in 2023. The 2024 first batch is 24-901. I was not able to get batch 1 (23-901), but have batches 2 (23-902) and batch 3 (24-901). 24-901 is more honey and sweeter than 23-902. 🥃
I have batch 3 and agree with this comment. Very good, very easy to crush. Already drank half in two weeks 😂.
Hunted and never found batch 1, but I was lucky enough to find a store that had a single bottle of batch 2 last weekend. Not sure how much more was made as the store indicated they only received 2 bottles and the other had already sold. I'm looking forward to cracking it open, and appreciate your review!
I managed to get 2 bottles of the first batch (just finished one of those), and picked up a bottle of the 2024 batch this week. Amburana is very polarizing for sure, but I love them and have at least 13 different bottles with this finish.

I have never tried batch 1. I have not found an Amburana finish whiskey that I have enjoyed. I have enjoyed some honey finished that I have tried. Cheers
Never had batch 1 since I’m new to drinking bourbon but it always interested me when I would hear about it, I was lucky to find a shop who sold me one and a second online, decided to try it since I have 2 and it’s delicious wish I could try the first batch but this definitely is worth the money
Really enjoyed this pour, a tad too sweet to drink often for myself but I will intoduce many folks to this bottle at gatherings I think this is the perfect bottle for that! Cheers!

Good review thanks for presenting this. You mention “it’s really well priced ” but don’t mention the price. Yes I realize the actual price may vary greatly based on location and store but having the suggested MSRP gives the consumer a crucial parameter.

I found a lot of vanilla on nose and palate on batch two with less amburana
