Yuck on other people's yums. That is so funny. I haven't heard that before. I agree with both of you. I was at center valley pa state store today. They had 4 different bottles, including Architect, which is despise, all way overpriced under aged whiskeys. I put them up with Rabbit Hole which is slightly better and very overpriced. Never buying another bottle of either distillery
I actually found and bought a bottle of Penelope Rio today in KY. First time I have seen one at a liquor store. Was hoping for a good review. I will be sending samples to a lot of people who like Amburana. 🥃
Oh it’s not the amburana I didn’t like this is probably the first amburana finish I could stand it’s just it drank more like a flavored whiskey or liqueur of some kind instead of whiskey. People will like this bottle but I wouldn’t reach for it if I owned one
Was hoping to see the wife on camera. Fred didn't like the Rio either. It's hard to find so glad I wasn't able to find one, might have been worth a buy ace trade as trade value is prob over 125.
@@bourbonbill I respect that! I’ve never touched the stuff… but I always wonder - why do people go crazy over ‘finished’ bourbon when they can just make a cocktail or buy it flavored.
I think finishing if done right can add complexity but if done wrong can either be overpowering to where it might as well be a cocktail or too faint where you are paying extra money but not getting more
Haven’t had any of the ambrana finished brands yet and probably won’t. I do like some finished products but not something I really look for. If I happen to see one in a bar I’d try it but don’t necessarily need to buy a bottle of this or the others they are pricey. Enjoy!!

Haha yeah I’m really over young tasting poor quality whiskey. So many people these days are doing young whiskey well I just can’t tolerate it anymore

I will say the Penelope 9 year single barrel is great. For 70 it was the first home run from them that I've had
