That was fun to do, though it feels like they need to rein in the ability for ships like this to strafe and keep nose on target. I get putting some good weapons forward facing but nose to nose feels like it should be a high risk. Though this is just a corvette too.
Next flight you should test if you can stop PDCs shooting down your torpedo's buy fireing rattler missiles so the PDCs shoot a those, thus giving a narrow opening for a torpedo to hit. it would take team coordination. so that the fast rattler missiles arrive at the PDCs 2 km engagement range just a few milliseconds before the slow torpedo's do. a ship good for rattler missile spam could be put in the top bay. obviously, that mirrors real life combat at sea today. with attackers try to break thru the real life PDCs (seawis) on navy ships, with coordinated saturation attacks. BTW the Torpedo tubes and be damage buy gun fire form other ships. then u can't fire them
Yeah the idea of flying these alone to, I understand people are just having their fun but when ideally you won’t fly these alone, you’ll want a gunship or 2 ideally and a variety of fighters escorting the ship, and a few ships for electronic warfare also for emps and such. You wanna try and create an advantage to make sure your torpedos count, and getting in close isn’t it, the corvette can help take out gunships and fighter support but should try and keep distance from the other flagship until it support is weakened enough that you can comfortably contribute to lowering the other flagships shields and defenses, we don’t currently know how torpedo mechanics and stealth will work with them as of yet, you can be sure there’s more gameplay coming.
It doesn't work anymore, you are 2 weeks behind, they gave the PDCs targeting logic, now they will prioritize accordingly, from biggest threat to lowest threat
I do not understand why people use this ship like a fighter jet this is supposed to be to cruise give your turret gunners a chance to hit something that’s why the torpedo don’t work for anyone who streams they are flying around in that Polaris like it’s an f-22 raptor it’s suppose to sit and shoot the best tutorial is the new citizencon demo they play u didn’t see any of the big ships doing loops and whatnot
Torpedo lock is 4km minimum and the turrets need to be within that to shoot. You also need to keep nose on for most turrets on target. So you end up with what you see. Been fully crewing a Polaris all week and this is the best way to
Because that's how CIG designed the game, every ship is basically the same as every other ships and fights the same way just at a slower or faster rate, they have a forward centric philosophy, literally all turrets are best use looking forward or slightly forward Is a design flaw and players just adapt, also PDCs insta kill all torps, so firing from range is useless, and CIG already said that's intended, the Polaris can't kill any capital ship UNTIL IS DISABLED, and then the Polaris can FINISH the ship, she literally is not a combat ship but a very expensive finisher
Capital ship warfare is a bust right now. It will always end in stalemate. They don’t have the firepower to get through each others shields and torps are a crapshoot right now.

That actually sounds genius, you might be evil

How to not fly, manage and fight in the Polaris. Well done, it was fun to watch
Those are some tough cookies.

Fun fun! Wonder how cap ship fights will evolve in practice.
It was super fun to try and get as many hits as I could before your guys would take me out 😂 o7
Amazing fight 🎉
Now that was a hard fight. It was stressful to even watch
Game is mostly unplayable right now for me. Ship doors wont open all the time, no Elevator buttons. Just a mess.
You rly need to do some shields management bro, thats why u loose at the begining
Why they can't get annunciators to work well is a joke to me "CHECK FIRE" "CHECK FIRE"
lotsaaa bangssss
