Correction: I mentioned the ship had a QED, implying it has both a snare and a quantum dampener. I was actually referring to the quantum dampener, as that’s what the Guardian comes equipped with. Sorry for any confusion!
Honestly if they nerf the hull HP they will ruin the ship, because they only help in dogfights and ballistic damage including missiles. Put it into a group fight and even 60k melt away fast once your shields are gone, and it has a small shield. I think CIG have painted themselves into a corner with shield values because I would personally nerf the hull HP but buff the shield a little bit, but that would mean unless we want to double the shields we have to rework the ship component area so that it can fit 3 s1.
@@spatialmonkeys But it's not supposed to be like that, is it? Bigger fuel capacity, some even have an interior, they seem designed for solo players so they should be solo-focused, IMO.
@spatialmonkeys check the Individual part hp and you'll find the guardians vital hp is 7350, the rest is fluff in the wings. When you look at it this way, the cutty blue sits at 6k body hp and 6k tail, vanguard is 7500 nose and 7500 tail, so I'd say the guardian is suitably durable.
I think we need to consider the difference in the nose sizes. It's double as hard to get shots on the guardian nose, making it double as durable although it has similar stats. I don't know if that makes sense! at least thats how it feels :) Thanks for sharing dude! I appreciate it!
It has the tankyness because it has only one s2 shield while the vanguard and lightning have 2. If they nerf the hp it will be a useless ship, unless they give it a 2nd shield generator. But cig like making shipes useless to sell you the next.
I understand your point, but I still believe it would remain viable as a support ship even with the nerf. Of course, we won't really know until it happens. Interestingly, I haven't seen any complaints about it-neither from those who want it buffed nor from those opposing it. So, perhaps they've actually managed to balance a ship well for the first time ever (:
@spatialmonkeys after flying the ship for a few days I noticed some things. The Hull HP does not really help you much because your engines are very fragile. Just one missle can already make you lose control of your ship completely. It really makes no sense to me to give this ship only 1 shield generator. Hull HP is something for a drop ship, a gun ship, bigger ships, capital ships and maybe even a brawler but not for a heavy fighter that's meant as interceptor it does not really makes sense, a interceptor should be fast and agile, therefore not heavy, less armor means less weight and the weight would be better invested in more shield strength, more energy for engines and weapons. Maybe they will balance it some day in the future but so far I see mostly very poor balancing decisions by cig just based on metrics that don't really apply to the purpose of a ship or its real issues. Their balancing is just nerf every ship people enjoy to make it fit into the category of ships people don't enjoy, instead of lifting the ships up, that need improvements to be useful and enjoyable. At least most of the times, sometimes they do it right, like with the gladiator latley.
Correction: The Guardian QI does not have a QED. It has a Quantum Dampener (QDMP). It's not the same thing. QED can snare people out of quantum, while quantum dampener can only prevent them from jumping away. This ship is not a replacement/improvement for the Mantis.
From what I've heard, QED is the combination of QID and QDMP. QID only snares, and QDMP only dampens. No ship currently has the QID, so there's no example.
Thank you for pointing that out. You’re absolutely right about the Guardian QI-it has a Quantum Dampener, not a QED. My apologies for any confusion. While it’s true that it doesn’t function as a direct replacement due to the lack of a snare, our approach to pirating often involves camping at a strategic location rather than snaring ships in transit. We deploy the dampener when targets come within range, and in our experience, this tactic has been quite effective. It’s not a direct substitute for the Mantis, but it has worked well for our operations. Thanks again for the correction!
Thorough review, and appreciated. If CIG reduces the hull by 30% as you predict, I don't think the Guardian base or QI will be as valuable as you exemplified in this review. Its shields get stripped away very quickly, and with a lower health pool, it will lose its combat sustainability. Thoughts?
Yeah, many have mentioned that a nerf of that magnitude would definitely impact the Guardian's performance. I agree with you there. Honestly, I don't think it needs any changes at all. It's a solid ship just as it is.
You'll never beat a light fighter pilot who knows what they're doing, not using a guardian. More to the point, overall HP is good, but critical component HP is poor, meaning 1 missile is enough to shut this ship down.
I really value your opinion and hear what you’re saying. But I want to share that I’ve managed to win fights against pilots of similar skill (and I’m just average myself) while flying the Guardian, even against those in light fighters. I’ve also lost to Guardians when I was in a light fighter. What puzzles me is that everyone knows an F8C can beat a light fighter everynow and then, but they don’t seem to think the Guardian, which has won 9 out of 10 fights against F8Cs, can do the same. :) Thank you for sharing!
it's more about skill Jag, and piloting a heavy isnt the same as piloting a light. btw, engines have just been buffed, useless light on cockpit have been tune down by 90% (i don't know who's the genius who decided to put 2 flashlight on the pilot face) Thanks for this video, i had a Blue, thinking about the QI, and decided to upgrade it, to me, the blue may always be "a police PICKUP" and not something as advertised as "superior armor" & "incredible engine" Monkey, did you made a choice for the missile size & type for the PU ? i got base ones, not sure about S1 spam or rattler for support if they works.
@lordfraybin Determining that you like maneuverability and design more than shields and raw firepower is a bit one-sided for me, but hey, every day another "professional" victim stands up and feels attacked because their own ship no longer has the crown... In my opinion, the Vanguard needs a bit more balance and not a nerf for the Guardian!
@@CRTDMG Add 2 S5 guns on the body, verses giant s4 on the nose? Sure....??? Let's upsize the firepower on all hvy fighters...? Lower the ttk we just attempted to raise.....?? Tell me... are you going to be butthurt when they DO nerf it? Like they have EVERY SHIP "after" the sale? Gonna complain on spectrum?
hmm not sure whats goin on here, but the guardian will not survive any fight with a light fighter if the pilot knows what hes doing. The guardian cant turn with any of them not getting a target solution.
Will I did 🤣 not to arena commander players but to really good arena commander players! Wasn't easy but it's possible. Just takes a bit of practice and a lot of back strafe haha! Give it a try, you'd be surprised!
@@spatialmonkeys I mean I love the ship but wouldn’t take it to fight players. Also think the top scm speed needs to be much higher for the qi. Bit useless right now because everyone can just run away. The dampener distance is only 5k or so
Nice video! The center section of the Guardian (inside the wings) actually does not have allot of health. Most of the health is in the 4 wings. Not sure if you also found this in your testing. Personally, I prefer the Vanguard Warden to the Guardian. I find the Warden's better shields, component redundancy, and the ability to park a pulse on the ramp a better fit for me.
I get what you mean about the weak point, but it’s pretty tough to keep your shots on target since any lighter fighter will always try to maneuver behind it. That usually leaves you hitting the more armored parts (: at least that’s what I’ve noticed! I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the Vanguard too-I'll definitely have to give it a try! I had no idea you could fit a pulse inside the Warden; that's super convenient! Thanks for sharing 😊
@@spatialmonkeys Let me know if you need to borrow a Warden to do a proper comparison. Too many people are comparing the Guardian to the Harbinger, which is a torpedo boat. (Personally, I find the Gladiator a better torpedo boat.) Also, ideally the Guardian QI variant should be compared to the Vanguard Sentinel variant.
Thanks buddy! But I sadly only have 16 million rec credits in arena commander. So I can rent the vanguard warden only 320 times :P. The sentinel is my favorite variant by far! And the gladiator is lowkey amazing! I don't think people realized it yet. :) Ill keep you posted with my findings when org mates are back from there breaks. Happy holiday Malember!
@@spatialmonkeys Happy holidays to you as well! I look forward to your videos. From watching you fight I think the Warden's default configuration (4 size 2 lasers, laser armed turret, and a size 5 ballistic) is pretty much your style. (Lasers vs shields and small ships, saving the ballistic and its limited ammo for when it counts.) Remember to park the pulse at the top of the entrance ramp, there is a safe sweet spot there. Have fun!
The acceleration is big, but I feel you have to be a really good pilot to make use of that, especially without going out. My fastest blackout in this thing was when I switched to SCM in coupled while flying up.
In the realm of heavy fighters, I currently rate both the Guardian and the Hurricane as solid B-tier contenders from a player vs. player combat and small group fights perspective. As for the A-tier, the Firebird is absolutely dominating right now, along with the Arrow, Blade, and Talon, all evaluated from the same combat scenario. At the top of the food chain in the S-tier, I'd place the Hornet F7A and Gladius, especially considering their effectiveness in these types of engagements. If there's interest, I'm thinking of making a tier list video to dive deeper into this. Let me know what you think! Hope this answers your question!
I wonder if I can take a out Guardian QI with a Mirai Fury if I put the Fury in my Reclaimer in case I get jumped by a Guardian QI while I'm salvaging in my Reclaimer.
You can definitely shred a Qi with a fury. Snub fighters vs heavy fighters will always be a super easy matchup. I've killed a few furies with that ion before :P but its so incredibly tough it can only be considered luck xD
Also consider the Archimedes... If you don't need a jump drive, it's hard to beat in combat: Tiny, Super Fast, Great firepower for the size. If you're a decent pilot, that thing will SHRED pretty much anything above a certain size. And you'll even give small ships like Gladius/Arrow a good run for their money. My guess: If it's "proper" pirates attacking you: You've lost either way... If it's Griefer's, Chancers, or pretty much anybody not very skilled/organized, they'll get the surprise of their lifetimes! 😜😜
It is good, but hardly OP level good. It can go toe to toe with other heavy fighters, but I don't feel like it is overpowering them. Player skill is the primary decisive factor here. For the QI specifically, I feel like it is reasonably well-balanced compared to the other QED ships. Each has its strengths and weaknesses giving them overlapping but differentiated use cases. The QI is a good fighter on top of having the dampener, the Cutty Blue brings a ton of versatility along with its dampener and the Mantis is fast and has an actual snare as well as a dampener. The only exception is the Antares which is an abomination that should never have been made in the way it was. Wasting an entire crew member on just pressing the QED button is never going to be balance-able. If they ever remove the need for the button-pressing monkey, the Antares will be good since it is fast and has an EMP. But with a 2-crew requirement it will basically be damned to stay bad forever.
I don't know if I can justify keeping my San'tok.yāi after this. For 20$ I could get a fully fleshed out interior, more armor, and Quantum Dampening. Plus it keeps a lot of the things I love about the design of the yāi; omni-directional ball thrusters & a cool domed cockpit with alien tech. I would miss the really cool green quantum travel effects though and I already have the Vanguard Sentinel & F8C...
I used to have the f8c, was fun but this ship is just so much more versatile, the interior and storage mean I can stay out in the verse and bed log when playing solo, and it’s got the chops to get involved in pvp. Also fits in Polaris so imo a perfect craft to plop in the hangar
It’s pretty typical of CIG to release a ship with stats that they likely didn’t intend, just to boost sales, and then adjust it later to what they initially envisioned. Despite "MY" anticipated 30% reduction in the health pool, I still believe the ship will remain competitive and be a valuable asset to have in the hangar! Hope that clarify things bud :)
What is the range of the Quandum Dampener? Where can we find this information? Can you give us a link to a web page that details the range / radius of the Quantum Dampener?
I'm not sure if Erkul has added the ship yet, but you can check all the details about any ship on their site. Here’s the link: www.erkul.games/ Hope that helps :)
I think that issue isn’t specific to the Guardian; it’s a bug I’ve encountered with nearly all ships. Sometimes it registers zero hits even though I’m landing everything. This has happened to me with the F8C, Gladius, and Hornet F7A. You shoot, and it reads zero damage. It seems to be a widespread problem not directly associated with Guardian.
@@spatialmonkeys oh i never knew. interesting. The test i did with the guardian i just sat right in front of my friends qi and could blast its windshields all day with size 2 from my sabre raven and it would never do any damage.
Like what happen to the Warden that had started out as a massive threat to any ship it encountered (even with a rooky pilot), then got nerfed so badly it's rarely mentioned (if at all). ;-) The Guardian has things I like, but it's starting (default loadout) with some limited capabilities, though better than a Warden as implied it's likely to have a 30% (at least) nerf.
I have a feeling that, that is the case although many are arguing that it won't be touched because its pretty balanced where it stands right now. I still really like the ship! Think its great for any solo player :)
Great review! Been waiting for this ship for quite a while. Earned my sub, thank you for the matchup tests! I went with the base version for a few reasons. A: I'm not into piracy gameplay - so for when I would need a QDMP, I have a Zeus Mr in the hangar for utility/prisoner pods. B: Also something you should keep in mind - the original leaks of the QI were missing an entire gun mount. Depending on performance I can see CIG downsizing its firepower. C: With the dampener not fully disabled in power management you take power allocation away from weapons/shields and the like. You will have to keep disabling it if you are using it for things you don't need the QDMP for. D: I find the default paint of the base variant absolutely stunning. E: Obviously the increased agility of the base variant is nice to have, even if it is not huge you do notice it against lighter targets. So if you're like me and don't see the need for a QDMP on this ship, you get a more agile ship with less tedious power management, dodge CIG deciding to nerf it closer to the first leaked stats, and get a (subjectively) nicer paintjob.
I can't imagine a 30% reduction to hp when it has only one S2 shield generator. I thought they gave it that much hp to not have the wings be as easily broken, and to compensate, they gave it only a single shield gen.
What else could they nerf, right? I don’t necessarily think it needs to be touched, but knowing CIG, they’ll likely tweak it as they often do after a ship sale. Considering that the Guardian has just one shield, a 20% drop in stats might make more sense. Thanks for the thought!
I had F8C and i still do have F7A. I've melted the F8C after 10 y.o ins upgrade so in the future i'll be able just to buy it back. How ever F8C nowadays if kinda "group ship" but F7A i faster and doing same damage. Thus i just melted F8C and got myself QI varian in exchange for 1SCU storage, Interior, Bed, QI and still nice punch
Have they changed weapon stats for cannons or are projectile speeds still slow on those. Just feels that if you had a canon with high alpha and high projectile speed it might be worth the drop in fire rate.
I have been using Omniskies for PVE bounties (about 8h worth of bounty hunting) and they have felt the best out of the guns I tried so far (M7A, and Attrition 5). They just felt right. Also you can get away with running only 3 power to weapons as you only lose 1 shot in the capacitor. Huge for getting that quantum dampener online with the steep engine power requirements.
Light fighters give this ship a run for its money especially 2v1. Hinestly probably one of the more balanced ships cig released. S5 is great but slow fire rate. Accelerate is awesome but you need to know how to control it. Armor is good but sheilds are a bit less to bakance it out. You can tell they are learning alot from their previous ships
I’ve been running this setup in Arena Commander, but I want to note that I’m not entirely convinced it’s the best loadout-it just seemed right at the time. Here’s what I’ve been using: • Main Guns: CF 557 • Coolers: Nightfall Stealth A • Shield: Umbra Stealth A • Powerplants: 2 Lumacore Stealth A • Quantum Drive: Spicule Stealth A This setup may perform differently in a live environment, especially considering the variations in what’s available! Hope this helped!
I used to have it at 100m so I could hunt players on the ground but I've always assumed it automatically adjusts when you lock a target. Might be wrong though..
I don't think they're gonna bring down the hull HP, the idea of the ship is it's heavily armoured like the Terrapin. Those wings are very fat and have what is kinda like space plating in a way on the terrapin. Also this thing has literally zero shields.
You’re right, it really does seem built for durability. And with practically that crappy shield, the sturdy hull is definitely crucial. I think am completely with you guys on this! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks man! I'll try my best to be consistent! And I agree this format might be better for you guys than a full squadron battle! Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it!
Hey Bud! In order to change the PIP size in Star Citizen, you’ll want to use the Gunnery UI Magnification Toggle. Here’s how you can set it up: 1. Go to the ‘Options’ menu and open ‘Keybindings’. 2. Navigate to the ‘Vehicle Weapons’ section. 3. Look for the ‘Gunnery UI Magnification Toggle’ setting. 4. Assign a key of your choice to this toggle. Once done, you can use the assigned key to switch between PIP sizes while playing. Hope this helps! :)
I really like this ship a lot and I think it’s balance pretty well to be honest cause you have to regulate your power and have the right components I hesitated on getting the ship and I melted my F8 for it, but I knew the CIG is going to nerd fit eventually cause all people are gonna do is complain about it
It is a great ship for sure, and very fun to fly! I don't see many complaining. The ship is killable. It's not as bad as the f7a! Just needs a tiny hp nerf (:
I haven't tried it against a vanguard yet, but many have been saying that vanguard is the better ship. But I would take that with a pinch of salt since the f8 wrecks the vanguard and the guardians wrecks the f8 (:
@@spatialmonkeys Yeah, iam vanguard simp :D Its my daily since 2018 :D But how about F7A in Atmo? I think Guardian shall perform exceptionally in Atmo.. It shall turn like a champ. @@spatialmonkeys like for combat i feel corsair got more power in guns but its ofc very sluggish. idk how a guradion goes op to ships like a constalion
I remember when everyone was complaining about the Corsair being too strong. "Too many pilot guns for such a tanky ship", "Too good at pirating", etc. Well, it got nerfed. Pretty badly. But I still absolutely love that ship, and I feel like, even if the Guardian gets a nerf, the Guardian lovers will still love it, too.
Are people complaining about the Guardian? It's not the best ship out there. I feel it is quiet balanced, tanky, maneuverable (to some extent, anything smaller can do circles around it if they know what they are doing), but has low dps. I hope they don't just kill it :P I see so many less corsair flying around now!
Idk… I play pve and have an Ion and a Firebird. Both got nerfed into the ground (be it usability or profitability). Now I’m scared to buy anything rn… Do you think either of the guardian is worth it in pve?
If we’re discussing bounty hunting, the Guardian should perform quite well. For other PvE loops, I’m not as experienced, so I can’t say for certain. However, I’ve heard the Ion is getting its old gun back, which should be considered a great buff to its capabilities. As for the Guardian, it’s likely to receive a nerf to its health pool soon. You might consider melting the Ion to try out the Guardian, and if the Ion improves after its update, you could always switch back. Hope this helps :)
Real fights are not 1v1s though. The Guardian in the PU gets immediately focus fired, and it goes down so the rest of the med and light fighters can continue a proper engagement. You're talking about 'enough hp' to survive ONE fight, but in any real scenario there are other ships, so your tanky staying power is only good for about 10 seconds. That fails to make heavy fighters a viable choice, nobody is going to do it in the PU, and its why the Guardian will remain an E tier ship until they increase its speed and agility. The dampener is also pointless, because the Guardian cannot control a range of 4k with a lousy top speed of 1100. Literally every other fighter can outrun you, escape the field, and then just missile spam you.
@@spatialmonkeysno apologies needed, if the ship deserves a nerf, then it should absolutely get one.. and it won't be because of this one video. Thanks for the vid.. nice work.

Will power isn't a problem currently. I manage to max everything out, power to engines, power to shields and power to guns if you switch off your cooler and health thingy in your mfd's. I really beleive after all the testing, its better than the F8c, when it comes to PVP stuff! I honestly have very little time when it comes to the PVE scene!
Would you mind posting the outcomes and the videos of your fights? If you have any like it would be awesome to see you fighting against all the ships you mentioned @spatialmonkey
I won one out of six fights against the Guardian using the F8. With the F7A, I won three of my matchups against the Guardian and also secured three victories when flying the Guardian against the F7A. The matchups between the Gladius and the Guardian were evenly split at 50/50, as were the fights between the Hurricane and the Guardian. The Scorpious, however, lost every fight against the Guardian regardless of the pilot. I believe the Vanguard and Ares wouldn't stand a chance either. I hope this clarifies what you meant?

CIG will WITHOUT A DOUBT nerf this ship, because of course they will, now since the whole community has seemingly accepted that CIG will release a ship and then nerf it later after they made sales thus the question is what exactly will be nerfed ? I bet the hp will be and I also bet the QI will see a bigger nerf than the standard because they're a bit too similar and the QI is the obvious choice
Its not that op to need a nerf now! maybe next patch when cig gets everyone to buy it. But I believe its in is pretty good place at the moment. Might just need some minor tuning! A small hp nerf! or buff :P
Lets all complain that it's OP so they can nerf it into the ground and make it usless like so many other ships and then we can all fly around in our Arrows. Let's just call the game Light Fighter Citizen and be done with it
It's not op though. It's just a good ship! Will still take a gladius in real fight over it :P but that's besides the point .. it's just a good tool for certain situations (: thanks for sharing your thoughts though.

Ya I can imagine! But that happens to any heavy fighter! Definitely needs a bit of awareness and sticking to your team to make them work!

It will be worthless if they nerf it that much lol. Just put a mantis and a f7a in your polaris hangar at that point.
Valid point!
:) Thank you for sharing!
it's more about skill Jag, and piloting a heavy isnt the same as piloting a light.
btw, engines have just been buffed, useless light on cockpit have been tune down by 90%
(i don't know who's the genius who decided to put 2 flashlight on the pilot face)
Thanks for this video, i had a Blue, thinking about the QI, and decided to upgrade it, to me, the blue may always be "a police PICKUP" and not something as advertised as "superior armor" & "incredible engine"
Monkey, did you made a choice for the missile size & type for the PU ? i got base ones, not sure about S1 spam or rattler for support if they works.
It's not OP, just well balanced, actually in my mind ...
I like your style of explanation. I will leave a like and subscribe!
I completely agree its not OP. But I just have a feeling Cig will still nerf it :P Thanks for the support bud! I appreciate the kind words!
If the answer is: would you buy a Vanguard over a Guardian??
I dont think so, which means the Guardian is OP.

Around 2.5% numerically which looks small! But you can definitely feel the difference!
hmm not sure whats goin on here, but the guardian will not survive any fight with a light fighter if the pilot knows what hes doing. The guardian cant turn with any of them not getting a target solution.

@@neok23 it's definitely the hardest fight, no one is debating that but it is possible especially if they crash into kareah :P
Definitely, the acceleration is intense! It happens to the best of us!

It was near instant dude..
Very good video format! Just wanted to ask since you ranked the Guardian as a B tier Heavy Fighter what's your highest rankings for A and S tier?
Absolutely, you've nailed it! The Antares really does need some attention from CIG. As it stands, it's not very practical!
I'd say go for it! You'll enjoy the Guardian!
I used to have the f8c, was fun but this ship is just so much more versatile, the interior and storage mean I can stay out in the verse and bed log when playing solo, and it’s got the chops to get involved in pvp. Also fits in Polaris so imo a perfect craft to plop in the hangar
💯💯💯
Even better if you pop it next to a Fury/Archimedes...
So right now it's competitive but it should (or will) lose 30% of the HP in the future? Why?
same reason the ion got nerfed into the ground. because content creators dont know either.
Basically CIG nerf ships once the sales are over or if a new ship in the same niche is released, so people buy the new one
@@StoneCoolds lets be honest here, the guardian is not that OP.
@machoalright it is trash lol, but so was the Corsair and got nerfed for the starlancer max xD
I wish they put EMP on this version. we lack EMP ship in the game
I love EMPS. Used to only rock the sentinel when I first started the game! They don't seem to be working will in live though.
What is the range of the Quandum Dampener? Where can we find this information? Can you give us a link to a web page that details the range / radius of the Quantum Dampener?
I'm not sure if Erkul has added the ship yet, but you can check all the details about any ship on their site. Here’s the link: www.erkul.games/
Hope that helps :)
What are your thoughts on using gimbals on the Guardian?
I've never personally used them, but some of my org mates fully vouch for them. They seem to show the most potential the heavier the ship.
@@spatialmonkeys Makes sense. ^^ Thanks!
i noticed that if the guardian is shot anywhere in the cockpit bubble it does zero damage. probably helps with its tankyness
Ya, i kept losing fights to a friend of mine who was a complete potato. So i rest the lobby and everything starting working fine!
Like what happen to the Warden that had started out as a massive threat to any ship it encountered (even with a rooky pilot), then got nerfed so badly it's rarely mentioned (if at all). ;-)
The Guardian has things I like, but it's starting (default loadout) with some limited capabilities, though better than a Warden as implied it's likely to have a 30% (at least) nerf.
Depending
on performance I can see CIG downsizing its firepower.
So if you're like me and don't see the need for a QDMP on this ship, you get a more agile ship with less tedious power management, dodge
CIG deciding to nerf it closer to the first leaked stats, and get a (subjectively) nicer paintjob.
Thanks for support! ☺️
Smart!
Have they changed weapon stats for cannons or are projectile speeds still slow on those. Just feels that if you had a canon with high alpha and high projectile speed it might be worth the drop in fire rate.
No clue, I would check erukel. Haven't played with cannons this patch so my input would be pointless!
@ cheers for reply and thanks for sharing your experiences!
People are recommending Omnis for this reason. I agree, low time on target means you'd benefit from high burst dps.
@Cain3697 I'll definitely give it a try (:
I think you’re right. It’s a very solid ship!
Mind sharing your component choices? I’m having difficulty dealing with the power management on this ship.
I’ve been running this setup in Arena Commander, but I want to note that I’m not entirely convinced it’s the best loadout-it just seemed right at the time. Here’s what I’ve been using:
• Main Guns: CF 557
• Coolers: Nightfall Stealth A
• Shield: Umbra Stealth A
• Powerplants: 2 Lumacore Stealth A
• Quantum Drive: Spicule Stealth A
This setup may perform differently in a live environment, especially considering the variations in what’s available! Hope this helped!
what distance do you set your convergance too out of curiosity?
I used to have it at 100m so I could hunt players on the ground but I've always assumed it automatically adjusts when you lock a target. Might be wrong though..
Nice video! thanks for the tests!!
You bet!
I'm not a fighter pilot by any means, but I've been holding my own in the QI. Good ship.
Glad to hear that! It is an awesome ship!
I really enjoyed this video! I hope to see you make more similar videos for other new and old combat oriented ships.
Thanks man! I'll try my best to be consistent! And I agree this format might be better for you guys than a full squadron battle! Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it!
Can you pls give an option (settings) to make a pip more bigger?
Hey Bud! In order to change the PIP size in Star Citizen, you’ll want to use the Gunnery UI Magnification Toggle. Here’s how you can set it up:

But I still absolutely love that ship, and I feel like, even if the Guardian gets a nerf, the Guardian lovers will still love it, too.
Are people complaining about the Guardian? It's not the best ship out there. I feel it is quiet balanced, tanky, maneuverable (to some extent, anything smaller can do circles around it if they know what they are doing), but has low dps. I hope they don't just kill it :P I see so many less corsair flying around now!
Idk… I play pve and have an Ion and a Firebird. Both got nerfed into the ground (be it usability or profitability). Now I’m scared to buy anything rn…
Do you think either of the guardian is worth it in pve?

@spatialmonkeys it has a small shield hp so once the shield drops it gets shut down quickly then just gets eaten.

I haven’t encountered many distortion players recently, but hopefully, this change makes them more viable. I want my sentinel to shine again! Thanks for the clarification bud!
Why are you lieing to people... bad ship is bad
You think so?
Get rid of MM and the guardian will suck against light fighters. MM is just a DPS shoot out. If they nerf the HP/armour (=less weight) they have to make it more nimble otherwise what's the point of the cool ass engines
Honestly it feels good the way it is right now. Only concern is cig nerf the hp :)
The constant mispronunciation of ship names just so you get comment engagement is a hack job
Haha, you’ve caught on to me… You’re the second person to figure it out. :P The competition is tough-everyone’s churning out videos non-stop!
There is no pvp in game
You mean have I tried it in pu?
