Voidy is so good at showing the potential of star citizen while keeping it real and keeping his fans in the know about this game. Thanks for keeping 100 and not selling out like so many other star citizen content creators
Great video Voidy. Someone who can still speak to what this game offers while simultaneously being on the receiving end of more bugs than the average 13 year backer.... It says a lot. Happy to be here.
7:43 if instead of a bug this was a juggernaut, melee or guy with a physical or energy shield that required teamwork and new tactics, that would be fantastic What's discovered about FPS games is you either make enemies very defensive and equal to you like old Rainbow Six or ArmA, or you make many different types of enemies that require different solutions like Halo or Half Life. Makes for amazing gameplay, whereas at the moment we just have normal men, all the same, and they aren't intelligent or equal to you. I think Star Citizen can go the realistic route a small amount, but as an MMO would suit the enemy types solution best.
I was always looking forward to capital ship combat in SC, but I gotta be honest, with the way these ships move, it looks incredibly goofy. I think big ships need to be much less nimble, being able to keep the nose of an Idris on an enemy capital ship all the time totally destroys immersion for me.
It also radically undermines the point of turret focused ships. Not that it makes them useless, but the point of sacrificing other things like cargo/armor/max damage in one direction is for coverage is being able have a higher total mass and the resulting low maneuverability while covering an as much of a sphere of space as possible.
Pretty sure npcs idrises get super manueverable buffs. No way an idris should be able to keep up with a polaris, which is relatively lightly armored in comparison

Same man, with the end-game laid out like that, or atleast, the design-intent laid out, it really feels like this game could be absolutely insane one day.
I can't remember who it was, and it's honestly been ages since I logged in, but I was sold by someone's video of a massive Jumptown war that ended up with bombers dropping nukes with mushroom clouds that could be seen over the nearby hills. Don't play much, don't regret my purchase - I want to see where this project goes, come what may, because even if it crashes and burns, I'm pretty sure it will have significant impacts on other development projects. In the future, studios will be able to look at what SC did, how to do it, what worked, what didn't and why, and in theory that should at least streamline the decade and a half long alpha cycle that this seems set to have.
Games these days are truly amazing, When I was a kid, It was a miracle if an entity stayed put on a floating platform let alone a Helicoptor, Spaceship, ect like in Arma, Rust and Star Citizen
Eh, balance with ships, nerfs, buffs, whatever they do now, I feel that its temporary, redeemer rage, corsair rage, they're balancing for the now (as annoying as that might be) and things will change in the future in my opinion.
Sort of off topic for this video but... Can't help but notice the big slow capitals that only fly at big slow capital speed still ultimately in the absence of a need for WINGS to use AIR for lift.... just end up nose to nose in a circle.... it's almost like ... the speed of ships wasn't the problem with the flight model.
Thank you for making this video Voidy. In spite of all its bullshit, Star Citizen is truly something else and I’ll ride it into the stars or into the ground. 🤘
Wow dude. Just wow. This was maybe the best gameplay vid I've seen yet. I hope SC doesn't just end up as Robertson's Star Engine startup and becomes a proper game. I'll log in again when my G12 is drivable; until then, I'm just a space game content appreciator.
I've seen the NPC's MUCH more active. You should have been killed several times standing in the middle of the hall with that F55...which is very cool that you were using it! Once they 'eventually' get the performance stable, I think we will have some seriously great FPS battles. I have seen in 4.0 EPTU that they have made it more difficult to get 'tier' damage. 4.0 will be released soon to the masses...hopefully in good working order...and we will see if server meshing helps. Within the next couple months for sure, the game will move to the next level.
The biggest problem with Star Citizen is the gameplay feel, like movment, pressing buttons, looting, taking guns from the ground etc. That's one of the biggest reasons I'm not playing it
