Just so you know the original Red Alert is completely free (not the remaster), EA released it as freeware in the public domain (along with classic Tib Dawn and Tib Sun) about a decade ago. So it's 100÷ legal to download and install it from any sites that host it, if you really did want to play it again. That's Joe dancing furing the making of C&C3. While Eric Martin had a whole other career going. Nope. The extra bits of Shephard is what you can find in the remaster behind-the-scenes. :)

Some very fun head to head over there. Came for the Flame vs Technicians laughed at the two armies but was blown away by the engineer vs outpost. Didn't knew that was possible 👍
Yea, I showcased that bug about a year ago when beta testing the remasters. But the Remaster team didn't find it worth fixing; most base perimeters have 2x2 blocks in the corners so this doesn't work, and no one builds walls in multiplayer anyway.
at first I was a fence sitter about the usefulness of a swarm of technicians. but it turns out they are absolutely pointless after all these years. thanks for confirming the obvious
Those poor, poor technicians. As a kid I had no troops left and my technician kicked a tank, causing it to explode, giving me enough time to rebuild and win the mission. They hold a warm place in my heart. 😆😄
It's one of the sillier bugs in the game. It's honestly not very exploitable; most bases have 2x2 blocks in the corner, and they prevent this trick from working.
2:59 Obelisk tech simply isn't effective vs. Mammoths but Tesla tech can. 7:30 Civilian weaponry doesn't work vs. Armor after all 8:33 no surprise why that Rexy is still relevant against an Allied force in Yuri's Revenge.
Great tribute to one of my favorite videos on youtube with the technicains VS the flame tank, Just needed the flight of the valkaries to make it perfect
That's amazing did not expect the Mammoth Tanks to actually win against the Obelisks of light. Most of the time I hate those things! Oh and wow that Nod Army actually beat that GDI force. Then again Nod units are quite powerful even if they don't take much punishment. Stealth tanks are pretty good; lightly armoured but they've got range and power.
I was also really surprised when I looked at that last big army battle as well. It's really a testament to how cost-effective Nod's forces are. Nod had 11 rows of vehicles and GDI only had 8 rows (2 of which were garbage Humvees). Nod's bikes and stealth tanks managed to take down most of the GDI's Orcas at the start of the battle as well.
With actual player control Mammoths would have remained in the front tanking for the artillery units so they could deal more damage. GDI is slow and very positionally centered, they could have easily wiped the floor with Nod with propper control. Then again Nod could instead have flanked the rear units. Control has a lot to do in the outcome.
@@BVasquezp Yeah have to agree. Careful management can make a difference especially in those missions where your forces are limited. Such instances I can recall is a mission where you have to take on a Mammoth tank with like 5 Rocket infantry and a few artillery pieces in order to get into a suitable position to bombard towers across the river so that the Nod base can be retaken; it can be a bit of touch and go. Though one thing that is notable about the GDI mammoth tank is against Infantry it does not always use it's Anti-Infantry rockets while the Soviet one does.
@@BVasquezp If both sides micro'd and focused fired properly Nod would still win. The only clutch would be AA. If Nod did slip up and lose their Bikes/Stealth Tanks early though, GDIs prospects would look much more promising though seems those two units form the bulk of Nod's anti-armor capability. Their other units aren't a big threat to Meds or Mammies.

Tremendous impact. They draw fire and disrupt the battle lines.
that's a major reason why nod army won. more individual vehicles, more survivors soaking up fire.
They're the whole reason the Obelisks lost. Low ROF with no splash damage = hitting an infantry is like a HUGE boost to the HP of the 'next' tank.

If the Obelisks coordinated their fire maybe three to each tank they'd have won
