The shells hitting the ground in 1.6 were spot on details and they weren't just sounds but you could also see the shell models on the ground.

They say hitboxes are big and yes they are ridicolously big but the spray control is the hardest in the series so it makes sense to me.

CS 1.6 always will remain as one of my favorites
The new CSGO sounds are Valve's closest approach to get the guns to sound as real as possible and also to be ear-friendly but I miss the old CSGO weapon sounds from 2012. They were a perfect contrast of the L4D2 weapon sounds with the CS Source's ones.
On side note, the Negev was the only weapon that went through 3 sound changes.
well thats a real bullshit. Shooting range is my second home and this is why I loved old CSGO sounds, cuz they sounded real, just like my MP5, G36, C1911, Glock 17. Guns like P250, M4A4, AK47, Tec 9, M3, Negev... New sounds are like gas airsoft guns, plastic, soft, silent, unrealistic..

Both CS 1.6 and CSGO are my childhood games i've played before and i still remember these cool sounds. It's also worth noting that none of Valve games had iron-sight aiming feature on their guns except from Snipers and Optical scopes on ARs and so, also gun attachments weren't implemented. I grew up with both of these games to be smart on firearms this game has interesting gun details.

in the 90% of sounds, CSGO sounds less interesting then 1.6 or CSS =/ The sound became less characteristic ...
And they became less annoying for gameplay.

Happy to say that i played cs 1.3 in urly 2001 then 1.4 1.5 and 1.6 a year later, very quick updates. Then played 1.6 everyday untill 2008. Played at 3 eswc events and large lan events across europe and us. Started playing csgo a few times like 6 months ago. I like csgo too, nice to see how the game changed. Everybody can shoot headshots now :)
M4A1 for 1.6 and source is by far my most favourite reloading animation.
Ah yes, lemme reload my gun by pulling out the freaking foward assist.
Jokes aside, Its such an iconic reload animation, but once you realize the character isnt actually reloading his gun, but rather pulling out the foward Assist backwards, which isnt possible, to unjam his gun when CS Guns cant even jam, and even better: the foward assist is a Button you press, not pull, you cant unsee It anymore, lol.

В соурсе, как мне кажется, некоторые анимации сделаны реалистичнее, в том плане, что чувствуется, что это действительно тяжёлое оружие, а в КС ГО как игрушка, очень лёгкие
One problem with CS1.6 and CSS is that all the right handed weapons are mirrored because the creator Minh Le was a leftie.

Idk why but cs 1.6 reload sounds were satisfying to me when I was little back then, especially the Desert Eagle reload sound.
That 1.6 awp and ak bring back memories and still the best sounds.
i like the usp silenced sound more from 1.6 but the csgo version is more realistic since a silencer cant "silence" ur shots that much, its more of a muffler irl

I miss the bullet shell sound from old cs
Recoil in older counter strikes hits more different; it's kinda distracting. Theres a different feeling among the csgo shooting style and cs 1.6. They slightly fixed the high kickback in csgo making it more stable so tappings/burst fires would work better.

Source and go shooting mechanics are just plain worse.
The recoil in 1.6 is much higher than "realistic" cs source and cs:go have a bit realistic
i played 1.6 till 3 years ago when i got a good pc i switched to cs:go and i was like pro af in csgo because of reduced recoil lol

bear in mind this is post '11 source engine, which underwent huge changes under the hood back then, they removed 1000 fps serverside support and changed recoil systems.

CS 1.6 has the best knife. I mean everything about it. Animations, gameplay, player hit sounds. You can headshot with knife which actually makes sense to me.

I think that exists in source. If i remember truly they disappear very very quickly and even if it doesnt you can at least see them all coming out of the weapon. Also i think they shouldnt make that much sound when they fall. Making games modern and realistic comes with a consequence of games losing their souls my friend.

CS:S is best ever..
CS:GO might have nice level design, but its lacking a lot of the detail from CS:S. the gun animations are bland and overused, the sounds are just from generic libraries you'd see games like Insurgency using (infact, a lot of the same sounds can be heard in Insurgency), and it could quite frankly use a rebalance. CS 1.6 will always be one of my top though, aside from CS:S.

Yes but CS 1.6 reloads are the best because they make the weapon feel strong. Best sounds physics and hardest spray control are in cs source and csgo has the best graphics so i play them all.
