- The Counter-Strike that has a story to it... kind of. It's still pretty cool though.

Counter Strike Condition Zero is one of the forgotten counter strike games because of a bad release date. But along with it, Deleted Scenes offered a single player story for Counter Strike. Deleted Scenes is very different from every other counter strike you know of. And those differences make it very unique from traditional CS. Not everyone will like it, but if it looks interesting, definitely give it a try.

It reminds me how just based off a map i made a WHOLE story, just with imagination
What?
some maps have actual stories though
for example, de_storm and de_chateau are connected, storm is a mansion belonging to some aristocrat whose name i forgot, and chateau being his second, old, broken down mansion
theres also as_oilrig, which is about a man with valuable information stranded on an oilrig with terrorists trying to kill him, and we must rescue him
theres probably a few more maps with stories, but i cant name anymore off the top of my head
the stories can be read in the menu before you pick teams
speedrun half-life mobile
I miss when Counter Strike had a whole story screen when you loaded up the map. For example on de_nuke it said that the site had been deactivated for months and that spent fuel rods were removed from the reactor and were going to be transported off-site in a week, but the terrorists broke in and are using the fuel rods to create a nuclear explosion
Yeah Agents actually ruined a part of the story but I guess nobody cares.
As an Argentine the mission in Argentina is hilarious, they used Google translate to write the text on the signs and for some reason everybody is speaking Mexican Spanish instead of Argentine Spanish. Oh and the mission is supposed to take place in Puerto Iguazú, a small but beautiful city in the north east of the country but the level takes place in some jungle village and the map display the location of the mission in Peru

Honestly condition zero: deleted scenes NEEDS a source remake
Oh yes, my dream game. I hope it becomes true. Or maybe, maybe... GLOBAL OFFENSIVE DELETED SCENES SOURCE 2! OH YEAH!
I imagine deleted scenes source remake would somehow come with new CSGO operation with completely new AI and not bots.. it would be cool
i was actually thinking a new counter strike game comes with a campaign, but that would be dope too
@Eroshap98 can give me the name for it? i was looking so long for it since i forgot it's name
Eh. A whole as game? No. It doesn't deserve it's own game. I feel like if this game ever gets remade, it should be by a modder and put on the Gmod workshop. Cause deleted scenes doesn't deserve it's own entire remake. If it is remade, it should probably be free.
I’m gonna be honest, the name “deleted scenes” is pretty underwhelming for such a fun campaign. I am 100% going to play this game.
omg ive not played deleted scenes in years.. going to play it right now!
@@chris9517 I remember I got one level and could not beat one section of the bots because they became pro

I remember this being my first CS game when I was a kid. I didn't know the difference between deleted scenes and the normal version, so I just thought I was playing online against other people and the fact that what I thought was online being so "cinematic" blew my mind. Really fking dumb lol
There was this mission where you have to let gas make your screen black, like you faint. So i would just quickly restart mission before that happened cause i thought i was dying and wanted to retry again quickly. I was doing that for a week until my friend said i have to let the gas finish me lol
The jet at 11:58 is very clearly modelled off of a hawker siddeley harrier which can takeoff and fly vertically, so the jet in the game flying the way it does is actually pretty accurate for the typer of aircraft it is supposed to be
I was going to say that. The only thing not very realistic at all is the jet shooting at you like it had turrets. IIRC, the real jet didn't even had a gun like other jets.
Side note: it shouldnt be able to shoot while doing that even with a fictional turret as the recoil from any type of weapon would knock it off course as the harrier is very easily destabilized when hovering.
@@Deses it did have 2 cannons on the bottom for the early versions iirc
I was going to mention that, too.
Me when I use a Harrier in War Thunder: Into the carrier, I must go
12:00 sorry to be that guy but that jet is a Harrier II jumpjet, which has vtol capabilities which give it the ability to fly like a helicopter. So I don’t think that the jet acting like that is a mistake.

shut it down! shut it down!
I was here to coment, just that. I wrote on yt search: condition zero predicted Shinzo Abe's attack
Well Inejirou Asanuma's assassination happened before, it not really predicted it. The killing just cranked up to 11 this time it's their former Prime Minister.
Fun fact
I recently learned that CSGO does have surprisingly deep and interesting lore. It's mostly, and basically only shown and explained in the co-op missions.
It's got a large theme of "Who can you trust?" With the T's and CT's working with questionable people.
Really hoping Valve expands on it more, it's honestly really interesting!
Fun fact about the "AI's can't hear" bit, (idk Abt CS how much they borrowed from HL) but in HL enemies could not only hear, but smell. That's right, they could smell. Valve programmed a whole system for behavior based on all the senses. Kinda wild for 1998
CSGO also has a story (sort of): in early operations, there were official comics that featured individual characters and events before you started the missions. Also, pieces of the plot were written in the description of the skins. Then at some point, after Operation Hydra, there were no subsequent events/updates and everyone forgot about it. But when Operation Shattered Web came out, there was also a plot in the co-op missions - a completely new one or a continuation of the old one - I don’t know. It would be cool if someone "big" undertook to investigate all this and put all the pieces together.
Maybe there are some UA-cam videos about all this already, but I never noticed them going big and therefore I never watched them.
UPD: Ok, I just searched for “CSGO plot” and I found literally no videos about it. There’s only one video I was able to find and it’s from Russian youtuber GabeFollower and it was released 5 years ago. LamWarp, I think you can actually do something cool about this topic.
That is cool. I wanna it back
@UmbrellaBR you know that the story of csgo is told in the descriptions of the skins in the game? The story of CS:GO is based on the operations and the skins.
@UmbrellaBR yea who gives a fuck about the lore to cs lol
@UmbrellaBR I care.
@UmbrellaBR it was all for skins because you needed to do it for mission stuff or whatever. I feel like they should've known that and maybe tried a sequel but I kind of like that its THERE within CSGO for workshop modding and singleplayer.
I like the implementation of fake physics (or pre animated destruction scene) and the paper "physics". Overall it's basically Call of Duty modern warfare but goldsource
HL2 and L4D uses it too, Source would instantly crash with that many physics objects around, I think I remember seeing some railway bridge just fucking explode in a video in one of those games, fake physics obviously because the thing was massive and in literal hundreds of bits which would instantly max the object limit in Hammer
They did it in cry of fear too, even tho that wasnt valve

I believe there were some Japanese members in the team, the Japanese themes in the game were almost perfectly done unlike other "Japan-themed" games. Words and sentences in ads or posters are perfectly readable and grammarly correct that I think it can only be written by a person native to Japanese language and culture.
That maybe the reason why there are so many missions located in Japan.

Condition Zero was the CS game I spent most of my childhood time of, so it definitely holds a special place in my heart :)
Thanks for this video, really love it.

I say, Condition Zero is the best version of CS. 🤝
My biggest CS games that I spend my childhood is CS 1.6 and CS:S, I'm really happy that Tuscan is back at CS:GO, it's so different, the two places that I remember from 1.6 is one of the bomb sites and that place at T spawn.
12:13 That's actually a Harrier type of Jet. I'm not to educated in aircraft but I do know that Harriers have a vtol mode that allows them to, well, hover like a helicopter would. They were really popular and started being used by the military in the late 80's I believe.
What is awesome to me and probably terrifying to others is that it isn't a late cold war era aircraft it was actually adopted/in trials in the late 1960s which is in the middle of the Vietnam war where infantry still had steel pot helmets and dogfighting was still a important skill.
I was thinking the same. Most people that are part of the generation that played this game when it came out had probably seen True Lies 😆
Is it made of cardboard?
Harrier II with 25mm Rotarycannon Turret
Still, the hover mode is rather used to take off and land than attack

This game was way ahead of its time.

Wtf
5:33 You had them on easy. On higher difficulties they're insane.
Condition Zero/Deleted Scenes is in my opinion the best Counter-Strile game. It's got the great gameplay of 1.6, while also having single player modes, more maps, and excellent bot support. Thank you for giving Deleted Scenes the recognition and justice it deserves. It is very good.
This game is actually so underrated, it's unbelievable that valve didn't expand on the concept
Being from Northern Ireland, I really appreciated the mission “Rise Hard”. Absolutely hysterical loading into that map and seeing Belfast look like Times Square lol. Just the word “skyscraper” set off the biggest, funniest red flag - the tallest building we have isn’t even close to 40 floors, I don’t blame them for not accurately rendering all of Belfast accurately but it’s like they didn’t even remotely know what Ireland looks like lmao.
I’m not hating, I love the game, just a bizarre and memorable connection I have to the game.
Also the Russians supplying the IRA with a damn HIND is the pure insanity I love in these old games. Classic
One stupid thing the player can do at the start of this level is fall off the building. This results in a Gman-style game over noting "Subject attempted to fly".
The Cold War left old Soviet Union military hardware lying around all over the world. I doubt they would need to ask the actual Russian military for one.
I've been to Belfast, but I didn't even think of that.
That's an alternate universe where Ireland is like a super economically powerful country where every city is like Manhattan
It's with that, or just reused skyboxes from Vertigo or something
Man, the “run” mission takes place in Japan - but we can clearly see that this is Sakhalin on the map - which is a part is Russia )
Rise Hard *is* one of the hardest missions in the game so it's not a skill issue. The amount of enemies in that mission is ridiculous.
This game can be described as Call of Duty before it became a huge hit.
Call of Duty was directly inspired by (and made by devs from) Medal of Honor. Specifically, Allied Assault.

I had dreamed long ago about there being a Global Offensive Condition Zero that took players through 1:1 recreations of historically significant counter-terrorism operations like the Iranian Embassy siege, the Munich massacre, or Operation Fire Magic, complete with in depth interviews with operators and living suspects involved with the events, spliced with historical footage like a playable version of those old-style documentaries from _H2,_ _Bio._ or the _History Channel_ before they went off the deep end. Like Kuma/War but actually educational.
Look up "The Regiment", it's not 1:1 (no game can be) but each mission is based on a real SAS operation and has interviews/pre-amble by a guy who served and fought in those operations. Starts with the Iranian Embassy Siege.
That actually sounds hella sick. Wish something like that existed.
Sounds cool
I'd love to see a counter strike movie.
12:06 The Jet is a Harrier, they're engines tilt so they can fly vertically or horizontally, basically switch between acting like a helicopter and a plane.
2 intakes, 4 nozzles, a lot of development costs, and you can too turn your british shithole jet into a useless helicopter
Narrator never saw True Lies 😂
I love the special animated deaths in deleted scenes. That’s one of the main reasons why it’s my favourite cs game
There's this fun glitch where if you quick swap on and off after firing the rocket launcher. You re-equip it with full ammo and abuse the hell out of it the whole mission
Finally someone making a story summary + explanation on condition zero deleted scene... god job!
Fun fact: the level where you fight a jet has a Harrier which has VTOL capabilities (basically means it can take off and fly vertically like a helicopter)

i'm pretty sure a vtol is fought in mgs2 too if i'm not mistaken
@@natiusjoshua55 yeah its the same plane, a Harrier.
I played this long lost game before. I mean literally like it was 2004 when it was released. I remember looking for a Compact Disk version of CSSource and I bumped to this game and bought. I thought at first it was some MOD version of CS. But I've played it like for a month each chapter after I went home from middle school. And I can say that this Condition Zero DS was really underrated. Kudos to this channel for bringing the game a spark for these new folks here to play. Keep it up!
Brah... your commentary is legendary!!! had fun watching it! Keep it up! What a gem!
I'm a bit surprised to find a glowing review of Deleted Scenes, as the consensus seems to be "it sucks, and isn't worth playing"
But I think it's a pretty novel concept, even today, and the maps are really useful as reference for map makers who want to use goldsource. They're really pretty and they use quite a lot of entities as props, which means "custom props" for goldsource!
That jet is based on the Harrier that has VTOL capabilities, it makes it hover and move like a helicopter.
8:58 oh cool its dr.rosenburg following you in blue shift where he loses his breath every second he follows you until you rage quit, and alt + f4.
I do remember not only source shadowing CZ's release, but 1.6 had already been out for several months. When I asked my friends if they were gonna get CZ, a few of them questioned why they'd spend 50 bucks on a free mp game with a sp mod attached to it. I think it was actually 30 dollars but that was still quite a bit back then, when you compare it to the value of all the already existing amazing single player mods available for HL1.
It is fun to think back on those times remembering Half-Life 1, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike all stacked up next to each other on the shelf at a game store.
The jet you fight on Thin Ice is a Harrier which is a VTOL aircraft, so that explains why it's moving like a helicopter. Also most aircraft aren't armoured well at all.
Yeah but a magazines worth of a police sniper rifles fire isn't gonna blow one up, (yes the AWP is the police version of the Arctic Warfare series of sniper rifles, who would've thought that they actually thought about its inclusion, though it should be black)

I remember ESCalation making videos about the cut content of CZ.
Theres lots of neat stuff about Deleted scenes, as it contains beta assets (Like beta weapons n assets in the files) and some unused maps that never made it to the MP. One that had the Counter Strike community interested in was the arctic section of CZDS, which was a very early and unused / cut map based around a arctic base shown in the first previews of the game in 01, which was remade to the best they could with assets. Same with porting console exclusive maps aswell like Tokyo.
i also remember watching ESCalation's videos for cut content
and it's a shame all the cut content never made it in the game, it would have been awesome, but it looks like that Valve is way too afraid to make any changes, like NWI not adding semi auto shotguns to Insurgency Sandstorm yet the original Insurgency mod for Half Life 2 has the Benelli M4 and MP-153

The last 6 missions that you only access through the world maps weren't originally included in the game when it was released. Valve added them later hence why they don't appear in the main campaign..
Oh and there is a mod I worked on with a friend that fixes the widescreen world map. Juat search for deleted scenes world map fix and it should appear
Overall CZDS is a quite bizzare game and I love it. Graphically it's the best looking official Goldsrc game imo and the missions play nicely. The AI can be hot garbage sometimes but it has to be expected for such a rushed development cycle
12:54 this didn't age well already
The dry wit and humor is gold, what a great video, earned a sub for sure
Counter Strike story mode is basically discount version Call of Duty story mode, except it's a single plotline per mission.
12:00 Harrier, a VTOL capable jet that hovers like a helicopter. Also, small arms fire at that close of a range against a jet can do some serious damage, especially if you hit unarmored parts
Most parts are unarmored, and the AWP round is quite considerable, so one shot in the right (or wrong) spot would deal considerable damage

Heres an history of Csgo : Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation. It is one of the most popular and influential multiplayer online battle arena games of all time. The first iteration of the game was released as a modification (mod) for the game Half-Life in 1999. It was initially developed by a team of modders known as “Counter-Strike Team”. The mod was released for free and quickly gained popularity in the online gaming community. The mod was so successful that Valve Corporation, who owned the rights to Half-Life, hired the team to develop a standalone version of the game. The first version of Counter-Strike was released in 2000. It was an instant hit and quickly became the most popular online shooter of its time. It featured fast-paced, team-based gameplay that pitted two teams against each other, the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. The game featured simple objectives like rescuing hostages, defusing bombs, and securing certain points on the map. The game also featured a “buy” system, which allowed players to purchase weapons and other items to help them achieve their objective. The game quickly gained a dedicated fanbase and was updated with new maps, weapons, and game modes over the years. In 2004, Valve released a sequel called Counter-Strike: Source, which featured updated graphics and physics. This version of the game has remained popular to this day and continues to be played in online servers and tournaments. In 2012, Valve released Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which was an updated version of the original game. This version of the game featured updated graphics, improved physics, and a variety of new game modes. It also introduced a new “arms race” mode, which allowed players to unlock new weapons as they progressed through the game. Counter-Strike has been one of the most popular and influential multiplayer online battle arena games of all time. It has inspired many other games, such as Overwatch and Rainbow Six Siege, and continues to be played by millions of players around the world.

I remember playing one mission on this, it was the one that takes place in a tropical rainforest. As a kid that mission scared the shit out of me, the sound is eerie and the overall atmosphere is creepy. To add fuel to the fire youll even see mutilated bodies under some of the huts.

It's the second mission, the stealth one, and the mutilated corpses got me as well
Exactly, that's what i just said. This game knows how to tense your nerves
There's a hidden AWP on the last mission (Rise hard). It's hanging out on one of the weird posts on the outside of the building and requires some platforming to get to. If memory serves, it's right before "the hardest part in the game for you". There's no reason for it to be there, but it's there all the same.

the mission "truth in chaos" has one of the coolest/weirdest easter eggs, a secret room filled with NPCs (usually enemies and "bosses") and its so out of place its incredible.
Yaaay, deleted scenes was the shit when I was a kid, me and my friends in Brazil loved it
9:48 "This mission is a bit long, but it ends at a river."
I don't know how to interpret that and I love it, lol.
They placed so many missions in Japan they ran out if space on the map and placed "Run!" in Sakhalin, Russia.
This was quite the blast from the past. Deleted Scenes was the my first introduction to FPS games, absolutely blew my little 6 year old mind. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories 👍
9:05 Fun fact, I discovered a glitch that allows you to kill the guy by throwing a grenade under the table on the right side
You can also get on the boxes outside and get over the fence (or not) and kill the other guys as well
You are awesome man. Keep up the great work
I remember playing this game just because I had it, then realising that the fake physics cutscenes and extra weapons and items were quite fun in a counter strike setting, and checking every corner for hidden weapons and grenades were pretty fun as well especially since the map is pretty detailed. A good nostalgia run, thanks
12:43 This is some unlucky timing lol
One key mistake you made:
You confused the SP AI for bots. They are NOT bots. They are NPCs. Bots are player AI substitutes. NPCs are characters that either fight for or against you in SP.
Awesome editing, watched thru all of it and kept my attention too! Earned a sub and notif :)
It is sad for me to see Counter-Strike Condition Zero gets ignored by Counter-Strike players because this is one of my favourite game when I was a kid. Thankfully LamWarp made this video, and now maybe more people will play Counter-Strike Condition Zero 😊
