Man, this player was a beast and he's "only" 35th in this list. Shortly after he joined mousesports. It was a great time to play this game. Thanks a lot for this footage and information! @@davidsantoso2291 1.6 is random which is enough to declare csgo literally superior. also, you cant be precise at long range if ur not using an awp, which makes it even more OP than it actually is, the gun variety was very limited, always the classic ak m4 deagle usp glock awp, nothing special... ok its an old game but y'all treating it as if it's better than newer games cause "duh, old game good new game bad" also what's with all the "csgo = skins and 1.6 = skills"... it's such a wrong statement in SOOOO MANY ways.

That nostalgia! I remember this graphic. It was back in times when gta 3 and counter strike were top games and we had no computers at homes in Poland so we gathered with friends from same block and played on internet cafes. Time was counting as sometimes we could only play for one hour. Or when we had no money that day we just watched or been watched by others which was cool experience! I think this is what made this game so strong.

Here in sweden Heaton coaches csgo school students. It’s only in the school LBS thoooo, where you can choose e-sports as a program where you play e-sports at school 6 hours a week... he’s a true legend. This is only for 16-19 year old students. Here in Sweden we finish high school at age 15/16 and then choose a new school which focuses on what job you want to get in the future.... and people who choose e-sports get to play in a e-sport team with fellow student and Heaton as there coach

CS 1.6 was the epitome of 1st person shooter games back in the day. While most of us were playing for fun, dudes on the list made it their mission to best everyone who challenged them. Great times!
I've been playing since cs beta, when it was a mod for half-life. And I wanna say that old times was way better. It was a pure passion to the game, there was a very low money tournaments, but it was a real passion of teenagers to the game and a very hard times for my family TT a drama
yes... most of new players will never know. I played since starts of 1.5, other half life modes, team fortress1, half life mulplayer and campaign nature selection, ricochet, dod, prob some more... i played too much cs tho. but only i will ever realy know how good i was. Playing on lan is another thing here is not seen anymore. Back in time there was tons of lan houses, dedicated 90% to cs lol. i estimate i played prob more than 400 hours just on lan houses during life. but much more at home during more than 8 years. i would easly do +1000 hours per year in the years i was more addicted. but all that kind of worth because its was golden times.
I know this is a late reply, but I started playing HL around December 1998 and started CS in the summer of 1999 (when beta 1 was released). These were the highlight memories of gaming after school with friends from middle school. I still occasionally play FPS, including CS:GO, however the passion isn't in games anymore. CS was truly a passion of gamers, developers and map makers all having fun and enjoying the experience. I remember creating maps for our clan and setting up practice servers prior to our ranked matches, which I sometimes found more fun than the gameplay itself. These are more than just the "good ol' days", these are when we had an actual gaming community and enjoyed the gameplay with others, more so than seeing who could rank up the quickest, collect the most gear, or reach the highest level.
so much memories in this game and time... i got a splitter for the router but at 8pm my mother cuts off the splitter so i bought a replacement splitter that i could play till morning.

This video gave me nostalgia, went through the comments and was surprised to find out so many other CS 1.5 and 1.6 veterans pouring their hearts out into how this game was such a big part of their younger days :’) I’m turning 34 in April and have so many golden memories associated with this game. Even in my country Pakistan, there was serious CS fever and we would go to gaming zones to play tournaments and what not. This game will always live in the best of memories 🫶🏻 Ps. watching in 03/24.
It's really interesting to watch this in 2017 and see where all these players are. Especially Neo and f0rest who have managed to stay relevant all these years. Sure, they may not be on winning form as of late, but I'd still regard f0rest as one of the best players in the world, with Neo not far behind. What legends.
Everyone debating this or that, I just wanna say awesome video series man. Great work. I used to play CS about 15 years ago in junior high/HS. Now that I'm 30 I had the itch to get back into some type of FPS so I just jumped back into the game. Still playing on old-school 1.6. Crazy seeing just how good people can get at a game like this.
I miss those times, I really miss them... You can say it's nostalgia, but I really think that was the time when CS really felt like CS. I still play GO, and I like it, but 1.6 will forever remain in my heart. Maybe it sounds idiotic but even though we can connect nowadays really easy through internet, I think the community back then was closer. For me 2004-2011 the golden era.
It's a top 50 list, not a 1000 best players list. So, you know, not everyone is gonna be in it. I think the results were pretty fair. Nothing major to complain about. IMHO, Counter Strike owns a lot to people like Heaton, KSHARP, Potti, Vesslan, more than Forest, Neo or Markeloff. Those "old guys" from CS teached a lot to the new generation. Competitive CS would not have reached it's later level if not by them.
This is the first PC game i have played and i really got hooked into. This is the reason why i loved video games so much. We ran swiftly together with my friends/classmates after school to go into this computer cafe just to play this awesome game back in 2005. Oh those memories.
Fun fact, Element (number 6) I know him In real life cause of my job. He is truley amazing guy and he deserves to be in top list for CS. The skill he ha(s/d) to be able to predict the enemy was extrodinary to watch. He was able to get around places before the enemy even knew.. Aslo, he is as staded above an amazing guy irl aswel, kind, chillax and awesome :)

CS ranked is the only game ever made where camping is 100% OK... If you know where all the camp spots are, you should be able to use peekers advantage to score a prefire kill. If you have the patience to actually hide the whole time (as CT) then you deserve the kill. This isn't COD

Crazy how time flys 😂 this was my 1st game I ever got into on PC when I was 14 and I was hooked..! Ended up traveling to Game Center’s and 3v3 tourneys with the fellas fun times and made a lot of money. From 14 to about 20 that’s all I did 24/7 then got a girl a job and bills took over 😢 never was the same

so much memories in this game and time... i got a splitter for the router but at 8pm my mother cuts off the splitter so i bought a replacement splitter that i could play till morning.
Warren Wells late response i know. but the passion isn’t gone! there are still many many people that are passionate about CSGO. i play everyday and couldn’t ever love a game more. never played any other CS besides CS-Source then went straight to CSGO. but the passion is very much alive my friend. maybe not as much albeit but still there!

We used to get so hyped when the guy who introduced us to cs 1.6 in my highschool told us stories about HeatoN's kills, we didn't know where where we could even find the footage. He was and still is a Legend.

CAL is the good ole days. We went to open finals once and team died before we even started a main or premier season because of how toxic we were towards each other 😂

This video gave me nostalgia, went through the comments and was surprised to find out so many other CS 1.5 and 1.6 veterans pouring their hearts out into how this game was such a big part of their younger days :’) I’m turning 34 in April and have so many golden memories associated with this game. Even in my country Pakistan, there was serious CS fever and we would go to gaming zones to play tournaments and what not.
This game will always live in the best of memories 🫶🏻

It's really interesting to watch this in 2017 and see where all these players are. Especially Neo and f0rest who have managed to stay relevant all these years. Sure, they may not be on winning form as of late, but I'd still regard f0rest as one of the best players in the world, with Neo not far behind.

Everyone debating this or that, I just wanna say awesome video series man. Great work. I used to play CS about 15 years ago in junior high/HS. Now that I'm 30 I had the itch to get back into some type of FPS so I just jumped back into the game. Still playing on old-school 1.6. Crazy seeing just how good people can get at a game like this.
I miss those times, I really miss them... You can say it's nostalgia, but I really think that was the time when CS really felt like CS. I still play GO, and I like it, but 1.6 will forever remain in my heart. Maybe it sounds idiotic but even though we can connect nowadays really easy through internet, I think the community back then was closer. For me 2004-2011 the golden era.

there were LAN houses and a lot of the best moments were shared there with friends playing on LAN and attending to local tournaments

Those "old guys" from CS teached a lot to the new generation.
Competitive CS would not have reached it's later level if not by them.

This is the first PC game i have played and i really got hooked into. This is the reason why i loved video games so much. We ran swiftly together with my friends/classmates after school to go into this computer cafe just to play this awesome game back in 2005. Oh those memories.
Fun fact, Element (number 6) I know him In real life cause of my job. He is truley amazing guy and he deserves to be in top list for CS. The skill he ha(s/d) to be able to predict the enemy was extrodinary to watch. He was able to get around places before the enemy even knew..
Aslo, he is as staded above an amazing guy irl aswel, kind, chillax and awesome :)

CS ranked is the only game ever made where camping is 100% OK... If you know where all the camp spots are, you should be able to use peekers advantage to score a prefire kill. If you have the patience to actually hide the whole time (as CT) then you deserve the kill. This isn't COD

Crazy how time flys 😂 this was my 1st game I ever got into on PC when I was 14 and I was hooked..! Ended up traveling to Game Center’s and 3v3 tourneys with the fellas fun times and made a lot of money. From 14 to about 20 that’s all I did 24/7 then got a girl a job and bills took over 😢 never was the same
