We came down Friday for 5 days. We had a great time. Caught a few on Wilbur lake and below the dam. Thanks for all of the info and keep up the great work.
My favorite time to fish for big browns!!! Haven’t been out this year but I hope to go soon. Love throwing big Rapalas for them. Just something about feeling them smack a lure at night. I will have to try some topwater lures for them this year. A friend of mine goes mousing at night and I am making it a point to go with him!!! Nice video!!!!
do the light mess up the fishing in the pitch black because i see people on yt say that you have to keep the lights off and im looking to try out fly fishing mousing on the soho thank you
As a rule of thumb, it’s always a good idea to work your way up river. However, at night I would say there’s a little more wiggle room on presentation. Make sure you know the area well and be safe.
Ok so here's the thing I NEVER fished with a spinner before and I got lots now and I will be Bank fishing tonight since day time truly sucks right now. Also I am using Berkeley minnows 2.5 inch to 1 inch do I use a bobber with that setup ? I also got pink Berkeley power worms and few other soft plastic baits so what set up to go with ? I got a few Rapala countdowns and couple with rattles in them does it matter what color they are ? So ya I am really new at this lure fishing so confidence level is kinda of nervous. I mainly Yeats ago just went with hook , line , sinker , nightcrawler. And it's been 9 years since I went fishing so advice is appreciated.... Mike from Canada 🇨🇦
Man, I’m excited you’re fishing at night. I would definitely go with spinners and the Rapala. At night it’s more about movement vibrations in the water. The Berkeley Meno’s and Bobber set up I would definitely do during the day. If you have any live bait then of course you could use those at night as well. But my best advice would be To fish on the surface as much as possible
Do you know any place I can catch and eat Catfish from the bank around the tri cities? Those mercury warnings have me worried about eating anything out of anywhere with a warning and there seems to be a lot of pollution in the area.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher thanks again for the reply. I am pretty excited to try out fishing as a new hobby and all the information is extremely helpful!
Bend hooks? Got to get quality hooks like trokar for fresh water they are fine with big ones, but good tip. The stock hooks that come with lures are never good really.
Thanks for reaching out, I bought my rats or mice on Amazon. Unfortunately they have discontinued selling them. I would just get on Amazon and type in top water mice.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher because there’s lots of native species that they want to protect. Including salmon and steelhead. If they could somehow make sure people are only targeting browns (invasive) at night, then I think it would be ok. Just hard for them to regulate and make sure people aren’t looking for redbands and salmon/steelhead at night.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher just an inside joke amongst some of my fellow Captain buddies. There are a couple of UA-camrs local to us that say it constantly. Even when they aren't on video and it's an inside joke, too many guys on the fishing trip. The video was great. Keep up the content.

I’m glad you guys had a good time. I appreciate the encouragement.
I haven't night fished for anything in years, much less trout! Great video and tutorial my friend!
Thanks, I appreciate that.

Fantastic, Topwater nighttime bites are the best. I recommend going in the summer or early fall. That’s when I had my best success on the top.
Thanks from ireland😊
Your welcome from Tennessee
I like all the bait info!
Excellent, I’m glad you liked it.
Awesome man! I’m gunna have to give this a try!
Fantastic, it can be really fun out there. Just be careful.
Awesome!
Amazing tips
I’m glad you liked the video
Is it true they feed on the surface at night ? And great to know you can use lunes at night !!!
Great watch will have to try this.:) will subscribe!!

You can use a red or green light and that will work just fine. Direct light could potentially spook fish.
Do you have any tips for wading at night?Start downstream and work your way back up? Thanks and great video!

Awesome videos. 👌. Except the 1980s HR safety training music lol. Good job though
Yeah, When you’re working with free music. One can’t get too picky. 😂

Using scent attraction for trout at night would it work ?
It should. They key in on all types of smells like oils and eggs. It would not surprise me at all.
Been doing this for years up in ny now people are finding out the secret!!!
Yeah, when it comes to Trout Fishing I much prefer to fish at night

Anything above Eastman chemical plant should be safe. The cleanest areas are usually South Holston lake and Watauga lake. Both have catfish.

Good to know
How shallow?
Care to elaborate on which bait or technique? I fish Wautaga river so it can be anywhere from 1 foot to 20 feet deep depending on the area.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher to water is what I'd love to learn...
Do you go out late at night or early in the morning?
I personally go out late at night. Typically I get home around 2 AM

What state are you in?
Tennessee
what the name of that mouse???

Where is this at?
This is on Watauga River.
I hate my part of oregon. Can't fish for trout at night at all without risking losing your fishing license. *edit* on rivers I can't night fish.
Wow, that’s brutal. I wonder why they restrict people fishing at night. I’ve never heard of that

Its against the law to fish for trout after dusk and dawn in many states
True, but where I live, it’s perfectly legal
Good video, but too many "guys" for me.
Growing pains of a young channel. I’ve phased that out. Check out newer videos

you ever bring a firearm or self defense? we don’t have a lot of bears in southwest wisconsin but they are around at times
Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about large bears in East Tennessee. At least the black bears are small and afraid of people.
