I'm widowed, and I get countless Facebook and Twitter requests. They're all middle-aged, handsome men,usually widowers. I delete and block every single one of them. My late husband worked hard to make sure I'd be okay after he was gone, and none of those bastards will ever get a dime from me.
I would totally make it my hobby to fool around with them and make them waste their time with me. "But I've sent the money! You just have to check again!" Then send them badly photoshopped transfer receipts XD
I get friend requests on FB. Usually they are in the US army with medals and stripes galore. Lol. Not a chance. I tell em to eff off. But it would be fun to string them along for a while.
If you listen to her story, she was in a stage of grief and exhaustion. Her brain at that point was so hungry for happiness it would be like quitting heroin while holding the needle.
Honestly this is my mom right now. She owes my brother money and I think she forgot about it as he's not hounding her. Yet sent almost 60k to a stranger! Something she can't pay back as she's on disability. I've been trying to convince her with articles and videos but she just yells at me and ignores me. I fear we're losing the house and she won't admit it. She probably won't sell the house to me so we don't end up homeless. I don't know how to ask her on this topic to sell me the house with her attitude and personality change.

Not "deliberately" ignoring so much as subconsciously ignoring? For too many victims reality or "common sense" breaks through their desire to believe in the fantasy when it's too late. These POS catfishes are really, really good at what they do. They know exactly how to pick and cultivate their victims and they take their time. I've been targeted by romance scammers/catfishers even though I've never been on a dating site. I've never been victimized but that might be because I'm definitely NOT looking for love. What if I were looking for love? I'd like to think I'd spot the creeps right away, but let me tell you how I WAS scammed...I needed a sort-of emergency house-cleaning and arranged for the work to be done over a local company's website. They looked legit online and I needed the job done the next day. I agreed to pay $600.00 the late afternoon and they were to clean the following morning. A very nice young man showed up to collect the payment ahead of time because, he said, they had been burned by people who hired them but left town before paying. I handed over the $600.00 and they never showed up. The police couldn't do anything. I was absolutely scammed. Infuriating.
Their script is easy: 1. Hook the victim by lovebombing 2. Scammers life falls apart, and he is out of money, so the victim needs to support them financially. 3. Victim sends money, sometimes less, sometimes more, sometimes victim tries to or sell their house, sometimes victim becomes a money mule unknowingly. 4. Victim realizes that they were scammed and are now out of money, out of life savings, and with a lot of additional debt....
Wonder how these scammers latch on to this trailer trash and milk them for their last dollar....babe..queen..king...oil rig..jail...passport...gold bars..blah blah blah ..sheesh...
As others scam shows mention, the nicknames (Princess, cupcake, etc) are not just trying to show there is a “relationship,” but that the scammers are texting many people at once, and so they don’t slip and call anyone the wrong name.
I was just going to say this same thing....think of how many people they can be scamming at one time, on the same day, simply but copying/pasting the same messages over & over. And so sad that the human beings on the other end of the phone are grasping at & believing that what they're hearing is someone who loves and adores them. A friend who had just recently retired from a successful career (and who had never married) suddenly told me this story about a guy who she met online (through a very sketchy Facebook con, BTW, whereby he "mistakenly" messaged her "thinking that she was someone else")...he had no family, was American but overseas in the Armed Services (which limited, naturally, his ability to speak with her...they mostly texted, but when he did call her, it was always rushed), so they never met but "were madly in love, he wants to build me my dream home & take care of me for the rest of our lives, I'm his Queen". I was immediately worried for her & asked "I'm sorry to ask this, and I'm happy for you if all of this is true, but some of the things you've said seem like red flags to me...has he asked you for $$??" She was immediately annoyed with me, said no, but shortly afterwards she admitted that he HAD asked her for money "only until he can access his American bank accounts & reimburse me"...and she emptied her retirement accounts to "loan" him money. I think it was around $100,000 and now she has none of that, AND she owes taxes/withdrawal penalties. Uggh. She's had to go back to work & isn't sure of her future. I (and her accountant) begged her to go to the police, but I don't think she ever did. These are crimes that feed on vulnerabilities, and then the victims are torn between not wanting to accept the truth, and not wanting to admit the truth. It's embarrassing.
Best she can do is ...just stop and block and never do this again. She can call him out, she is not going to get closure , he is not going to feel bad, she is going to feel worse when she gets that...that he just do not care, he will do it again and again. Why do people even believe strangers want them...that is weird thinking.

This stuff happens all the time on Instagram. I had a nice looking lady ask me how I was. She had 1 follower but, was following many. I told her I was fine and then proceeded to ask her which scam center she worked for in Nigeria. She (he, whoever) told me to 'f' off so, I told them, okay - f'ing off and I never heard back, again.

Grant, Kenneth Copeland, Ken Ham, Jim Baker. They send these guys 10,000$ and more and these priests are super rich.
I have an aunt who fell for this. It's gotten so bad that she won't pay her own rent or medical bills. She says "he needs it!". And yet she is homeless. Very delusional. 😞

Good point actually. In lot of these videos people say they are smart or not easily fooled which means it's hard for them to face it if they make choices that doesn't align with those beliefs.
That might of been one of the biggest mistakes I have made. I haven't been romance scammed, but we are each in different ways being scammed, whether it is the media, your kid that wants something. Question everything, believe in your innate wisdom and use common sense. Not scam proof, but it helps. None of us, not one should believe we are too smart to be scammed.

I was a nurse, worked with so many fellow nurses that would put up with deadbeat guys, some out of prison, etc just to have someone. But at least they were a real warm-blooded flesh and blood guy, not a fantasy facebook pic with scammers begging for money. That has taken things to a new low! So sad that people are so desperate and so afraid of meeting in real life that they are willing to settle for fake crumbs like this! It all reconfirms my life as a happily single person! Just get a loving dog or cat from the animal shelter. They will give you all the unconditional love you need and bring you endless joy and cost a lot less in the long run!
I know a retired coworker who is very gullible, and I can just see her falling for this as she lives in dreamland, but lucky for her she didn't save any money so only has her social security and pension so any scammer would move on quick when they realized she didn't have any money to give them!
When I heard “You’re my queen” that told me all I needed to know. These love 💕 bombing tactics really work especially to someone who’s had a traumatic experience. People like that should really distance themselves from online dating as they tend to miss the obvious red flags 🚩

I've gotten now when someone IM's me I don't know, within about 3 minutes, I beg their pardon for being direct, but tell them they need to know there is no situation, emergency, tragedy, or scenario under which I will give them money. I also say I don't want anyone feeling awkward, but if we start chatting much, I'm going to want a video chat or video send to confirm they are who their profile picture portrays. Scammers scatter like cockroaches when you mention video chat.
LOL, I just found this channel and have been watching this show for about a month now and just thought that very same thing.. It's the same song and dance with these people!!!!!!!!!!!!. I've spoken to some of these scammers and it's the same old, "I'm a widower, has one child, parents died, they make it appear as if they have no one and are lonely.
I am 60 and get sooo many friend requests on social media from men who look just like this. Honestly women!!!! When they look like they do in the pictures and they seem to be way out of your league then they are not real. We lived this long and have wisdom. Use your brain. Enjoy your families, nature, pets, hobbies and have a full life.
And even if there actually WAS a guy like that - in his 40s, great body and a handsome face - who would want to get it on with 53year old average-looking me 🙄 I'd politely decline because of the stress 🙃 I love my comfy clothes, don't really care that my grey roots are showing again and since I had to wear a full face of makeup on a daily basis for years, I went back to mascara and lipstick for special occasions. With a Greek god by my side, I would've to shift gears into high maintenance mode again 😉nah! I worked too hard for my self-acceptance and quiet happiness!
I think they just cut it out of some audio, an African or Indian would for sure have strong a** accents 😂 If you're scammed, usually it's from either of these 2 places 😂
My mother, who passed in 2020, had dementia. She met a scumbag with a criminal record at the local senior center that she let move in with her. He and his family bilked her for thousands, never paid a dime in rent, and bailed when she could no longer care for herself. I couldn't get the authorities to do anything about this because...it's her choice! So, my point is, they don't have to be from Nigeria to be a scammer.
I am so sorry to read this. It's the same here in the UK; it's very difficult to prove a person no longer has 'capacity' as they also have the right to make 'choices' until it's proved they don't. I worked with adults with MH issues and it's a very difficult one to balance.
Senior Centers are full of scam artists searching for lonely wealthy widows to take advantage of. The women are so naive they share all sorts of personal information a wise person would keep private. Instead, they share information about the value of their homes and lifestyles. Asian women are especially uncomfortable complaining about unwanted sexual advances, Many had husbands who helped them maintain sheltered existances, so when the husbands die, they have no clue how to take care of themselves, or even take reasonable precautions to be safe.

My father fell for the bitcoin scam. He wasted all of his money and their pensions. My parents went from well off to have nothing. We couldn't stop him - he never asked for advice before it was too late. I will never be able to comprehend the people who can cheat and lie and have no scruples.

What people fail to realize is that she suffered in an abusive relationship, she lost her significant other and dealt with him being on dialysis and then raising children alone and working. It's ATTENTION, which is how they fell for this cr*p in the first place. I think they still feel flattered that a sexy man sent them photos, it appeals to their vanity, even if he isn't real. And half of them don't even seem convinced at the end. It's like addiction or weight loss or hoarding - I think when the camera is off them, they go right back to it. Embarrassed people would not go on this channel. It's all a great adventure for them. Their lives must be incredibly boring. I often get the sense of people who never leave the house.

We need to give some credit to some of the small retailers that stop the elderly from purchasing these "GIFT CRARDS"and help the people whom are being scammed.
Great point. An elderly lady was in line at a Dollar Store buying a bunch of gift cards. I convinced her to talk with her daughter before purchasing them. It was a scam.

Who are you buying these for, if I may ask?" And he asked enough questions that my father in law snapped back into attention, realizing this was a scam! He spent 40 years working in telecom security and INVENTED some of the first lines of telecom defense!!! It is scary getting old! And shocking how quickly tech changes and advances... But you are 💯 right! People should give those kids an award! I actually said that already to him--I hope that CVS and Walgreens, etc., gives those kids employee of the YEAR!!
I wish I could do that. I work in retail, and elderly people keep coming in to buy Apple gift cards. Once, a woman came in and bought $1400 worth of Apple gift cards. I'm not allowed to say anything, but we do plan on putting up posters to inform people.

And it seems to always be the wrong people lol. @@junopierre2988 I think that it’s illegal for a bank to seize personal funds. Example. I owe BofA close to 10k in credit card debt. I currently have more than that amount in my account. I was concerned that they’d take it to pay off my debt. But no. Which led me to believe that it’s illegal to freeze someone’s account bc of past balances, nor take it arbitrarily.

I think it's because they are so desperate for it to be real...And they also usually mention that they are very intelligent and "not easily fooled". I suspect that the victims are good people who wouldn't dream of exploiting someone that way and therefore find it hard to imagine someone who would...The very moment anyone believes they are too intelligent to be fooled they make themselves vulnerable to being taken advantage of. Desperation and the belief they can't be fooled seems to be a disastrous combination...I hate victim-blaming, especially because these victims seem to be trusting, loving, kind and generous, but it is very, very difficult NOT to blame them on some level.

REASON: explains the accent and regular people usually know jack shit about "not very well known countries". #2: They fell in love sooooo easily. Two messages down they are dying from love they had for me. I am drop dead gorgeous and they just can't help themselves. That by itself is such crock of shit. All alarms should go off right away. REASON: They want my money, so why wait? It's so boring to copy-paste the same crap to me and 87 other women that are "unique" and "are natural and beautiful without makeup" (poor soul, this woman). #3: They are ALWAYS, and I say ALWAYS contractors. They will be with you in a moment. Building contract, oil rig and similar. 2 years ago I had one contractor from some God forsaken place in Australia, where they were researching for a new Covid vaccine. REASON: They will never, ever come to meet you in person, because contractors fell in so much trouble with their work, or travel arrangements, banks. Here is a little test: ask them about their job and what they do as contractors. Then copy the whole thing into Google and hit "search". I bet you'll find the whole thing existing at some web site. I once was contacted out of the blue by a man who in his first message told me he was an orphan, a widower and that one of his children died in a car accident. And I was like: scammer! And blocked him immediately.
You were smart. I've had online scammers, women tell me they wanted to marry me, but they just needed some money. I eventually told them they were trying to scam me. They didn't deny it, and also could care less what I thought. I never send anyone money over the internet.

I didn't, but my son in law sent money to a woman claiming that she had 3 kids and they were going to be thrown into the street if she didn't find the money, for rent and food. We told him he was being stupid but he sent her an awful lot of money. I told him it was a scam but he said no she's sincere ,she did it to an awful lot of men. So it's not only men scamming women do too.

Yeah. Most of her sons and daughters are grown up, graduated college, and are married/starting families of their own. They realistically don't have as much time for her as they used to, she's lonely, and this is one of the ways to overcompensate for that. It's still wrong though.. because a lot of the time, something that seems too good to be true, usually IS too good to be true...and social media/dating websites aren't the same as real life. I believe that, although it's harder in old age, you can make friends at any age. Even for the stubborn ones who don't want to admit it, there's options out there if you go out into the real world and put yourself in a position to make new friends.
For a woman who got scammed out of $32k, she has a great attitude. I commend her for keeping her cool. I would have lost my sh!t. And don’t click links that are sent to you, either!!

Im curious what the scammer sees on their end after clicking the tracker? Obviously they didn't have money on them.
I'm widowed, and I get countless Facebook and Twitter requests. They're all middle-aged, handsome men,usually widowers. I delete and block every single one of them. My late husband worked hard to make sure I'd be okay after he was gone, and none of those bastards will ever get a dime from me.

I get friend requests on FB. Usually they are in the US army with medals and stripes galore. Lol. Not a chance. I tell em to eff off. But it would be fun to string them along for a while.
They usually start by saying they're "not easily fooled," then proceed to tell the most outrageous story of being unspeakably foolish.
If you listen to her story, she was in a stage of grief and exhaustion. Her brain at that point was so hungry for happiness it would be like quitting heroin while holding the needle.

Honestly this is my mom right now. She owes my brother money and I think she forgot about it as he's not hounding her. Yet sent almost 60k to a stranger! Something she can't pay back as she's on disability. I've been trying to convince her with articles and videos but she just yells at me and ignores me. I fear we're losing the house and she won't admit it. She probably won't sell the house to me so we don't end up homeless. I don't know how to ask her on this topic to sell me the house with her attitude and personality change.

Not "deliberately" ignoring so much as subconsciously ignoring? For too many victims reality or "common sense" breaks through their desire to believe in the fantasy when it's too late. These POS catfishes are really, really good at what they do. They know exactly how to pick and cultivate their victims and they take their time.
I've been targeted by romance scammers/catfishers even though I've never been on a dating site. I've never been victimized but that might be because I'm definitely NOT looking for love. What if I were looking for love? I'd like to think I'd spot the creeps right away, but let me tell you how I WAS scammed...I needed a sort-of emergency house-cleaning and arranged for the work to be done over a local company's website. They looked legit online and I needed the job done the next day. I agreed to pay $600.00 the late afternoon and they were to clean the following morning. A very nice young man showed up to collect the payment ahead of time because, he said, they had been burned by people who hired them but left town before paying. I handed over the $600.00 and they never showed up. The police couldn't do anything. I was absolutely scammed. Infuriating.

Their script is easy:
1. Hook the victim by lovebombing
2. Scammers life falls apart, and he is out of money, so the victim needs to support them financially.
3. Victim sends money, sometimes less, sometimes more, sometimes victim tries to or sell their house, sometimes victim becomes a money mule unknowingly.
4. Victim realizes that they were scammed and are now out of money, out of life savings, and with a lot of additional debt....
Sometimes it’s too easy for the scammers to get you ensnared and turn you unknowingly into a money mule until realize you have been used and abused.
Wonder how these scammers latch on to this trailer trash and milk them for their last dollar....babe..queen..king...oil rig..jail...passport...gold bars..blah blah blah ..sheesh...
As others scam shows mention, the nicknames (Princess, cupcake, etc) are not just trying to show there is a “relationship,” but that the scammers are texting many people at once, and so they don’t slip and call anyone the wrong name.
I was just going to say this same thing....think of how many people they can be scamming at one time, on the same day, simply but copying/pasting the same messages over & over. And so sad that the human beings on the other end of the phone are grasping at & believing that what they're hearing is someone who loves and adores them.
A friend who had just recently retired from a successful career (and who had never married) suddenly told me this story about a guy who she met online (through a very sketchy Facebook con, BTW, whereby he "mistakenly" messaged her "thinking that she was someone else")...he had no family, was American but overseas in the Armed Services (which limited, naturally, his ability to speak with her...they mostly texted, but when he did call her, it was always rushed), so they never met but "were madly in love, he wants to build me my dream home & take care of me for the rest of our lives, I'm his Queen". I was immediately worried for her & asked "I'm sorry to ask this, and I'm happy for you if all of this is true, but some of the things you've said seem like red flags to me...has he asked you for $$??" She was immediately annoyed with me, said no, but shortly afterwards she admitted that he HAD asked her for money "only until he can access his American bank accounts & reimburse me"...and she emptied her retirement accounts to "loan" him money. I think it was around $100,000 and now she has none of that, AND she owes taxes/withdrawal penalties. Uggh. She's had to go back to work & isn't sure of her future. I (and her accountant) begged her to go to the police, but I don't think she ever did. These are crimes that feed on vulnerabilities, and then the victims are torn between not wanting to accept the truth, and not wanting to admit the truth. It's embarrassing.

Good point actually. In lot of these videos people say they are smart or not easily fooled which means it's hard for them to face it if they make choices that doesn't align with those beliefs.
That might of been one of the biggest mistakes I have made. I haven't been romance scammed, but we are each in different ways being scammed, whether it is the media, your kid that wants something. Question everything, believe in your innate wisdom and use common sense. Not scam proof, but it helps. None of us, not one should believe we are too smart to be scammed.

I was a nurse, worked with so many fellow nurses that would put up with deadbeat guys, some out of prison, etc just to have someone. But at least they were a real warm-blooded flesh and blood guy, not a fantasy facebook pic with scammers begging for money. That has taken things to a new low! So sad that people are so desperate and so afraid of meeting in real life that they are willing to settle for fake crumbs like this! It all reconfirms my life as a happily single person! Just get a loving dog or cat from the animal shelter. They will give you all the unconditional love you need and bring you endless joy and cost a lot less in the long run!

When someone ask about your finances or complaining about their own financial struggles especially online when you never met block the person.
I am 60 and get sooo many friend requests on social media from men who look just like this. Honestly women!!!! When they look like they do in the pictures and they seem to be way out of your league then they are not real. We lived this long and have wisdom. Use your brain. Enjoy your families, nature, pets, hobbies and have a full life.
And even if there actually WAS a guy like that - in his 40s, great body and a handsome face - who would want to get it on with 53year old average-looking me 🙄 I'd politely decline because of the stress 🙃 I love my comfy clothes, don't really care that my grey roots are showing again and since I had to wear a full face of makeup on a daily basis for years, I went back to mascara and lipstick for special occasions.
With a Greek god by my side, I would've to shift gears into high maintenance mode again 😉nah!

My mother, who passed in 2020, had dementia. She met a scumbag with a criminal record at the local senior center that she let move in with her. He and his family bilked her for thousands, never paid a dime in rent, and bailed when she could no longer care for herself. I couldn't get the authorities to do anything about this because...it's her choice! So, my point is, they don't have to be from Nigeria to be a scammer.

Instead, they share information about the value of their homes and lifestyles. Asian women are especially uncomfortable complaining about unwanted sexual advances, Many had husbands who helped them maintain sheltered existances, so when the husbands die, they have no clue how to take care of themselves, or even take reasonable precautions to be safe.

What people fail to realize is that she suffered in an abusive relationship, she lost her significant other and dealt with him being on dialysis and then raising children alone and working. This lady never stopped to take care of herself. She was too busy being oxygen for everyone else except herself. This man poured into her with the 'love bombing', she was vulnerable and he took advantage of her.
Most triggering thing in this scam is how close the scammer was to the phone while speaking. Those breathing sounds and plops drive me crazy.

And half of them don't even seem convinced at the end. It's like addiction or weight loss or hoarding - I think when the camera is off them, they go right back to it. Embarrassed people would not go on this channel. It's all a great adventure for them. Their lives must be incredibly boring. I often get the sense of people who never leave the house.

@@junopierre2988 I think that it’s illegal for a bank to seize personal funds. Example. I owe BofA close to 10k in credit card debt. I currently have more than that amount in my account. I was concerned that they’d take it to pay off my debt. But no. Which led me to believe that it’s illegal to freeze someone’s account bc of past balances, nor take it arbitrarily.

I think it's because they are so desperate for it to be real...And they also usually mention that they are very intelligent and "not easily fooled". I suspect that the victims are good people who wouldn't dream of exploiting someone that way and therefore find it hard to imagine someone who would...The very moment anyone believes they are too intelligent to be fooled they make themselves vulnerable to being taken advantage of. Desperation and the belief they can't be fooled seems to be a disastrous combination...I hate victim-blaming, especially because these victims seem to be trusting, loving, kind and generous, but it is very, very difficult NOT to blame them on some level.

#1: They are always combination or nationalities, and NEVER black, and VERY RARELY from, let me call them, "well known countries". Hungarian, Norwegian, Romanian, that kind of stuff. Very rarely from Germany, for example, or Russia, or England or Australia. They love France, though.
REASON: explains the accent and regular people usually know jack shit about "not very well known countries".
#2: They fell in love sooooo easily. Two messages down they are dying from love they had for me. I am drop dead gorgeous and they just can't help themselves. That by itself is such crock of shit. All alarms should go off right away.
REASON: They want my money, so why wait? It's so boring to copy-paste the same crap to me and 87 other women that are "unique" and "are natural and beautiful without makeup" (poor soul, this woman).
#3: They are ALWAYS, and I say ALWAYS contractors. They will be with you in a moment. Building contract, oil rig and similar. 2 years ago I had one contractor from some God forsaken place in Australia, where they were researching for a new Covid vaccine.
REASON: They will never, ever come to meet you in person, because contractors fell in so much trouble with their work, or travel arrangements, banks.
Here is a little test: ask them about their job and what they do as contractors. Then copy the whole thing into Google and hit "search". I bet you'll find the whole thing existing at some web site.
Actually, you can do that with every romantic clap-trap they send you. These fckrs don't even work hard for the money they steal. Copy-paste. Wank. That's all.

We told him he was being stupid but he sent her an awful lot of money.

Yeah. Most of her sons and daughters are grown up, graduated college, and are married/starting families of their own. They realistically don't have as much time for her as they used to, she's lonely, and this is one of the ways to overcompensate for that. It's still wrong though.. because a lot of the time, something that seems too good to be true, usually IS too good to be true...and social media/dating websites aren't the same as real life.
I believe that, although it's harder in old age, you can make friends at any age. Even for the stubborn ones who don't want to admit it, there's options out there if you go out into the real world and put yourself in a position to make new friends.
