I Love this memory of the Original People Mover so so much! Feels like I'm rt back there in the 70's with my family! Oh to be able to ride the Original "People Mover" & "If You Had Wings" Again!
So glad this could bring back such good memories of a great time in WDW history.

Interesting they had some of the Captiol Media Music songs that were no longer used on the WedWay after ORAC-1, but still used on Disneyland's PeopleMover until it's demise in 1995.
This video is fantastic. I got to ride several times as a kid in the early 70s, this is almost exactly as I remember it, especially the music for "If You Had Wings", which impressed 10 year old me.
This was one of my favorite rides. Too bad they got rid of it. You know, the 70s REALLY were Walt Disney Worlds glory years. so grateful to have experienced it as a kid in the 70s
Look at Tomorrowland. Wide open and airy, unified architecture, no Arcade building or dopey stage to make you feel crowded in and cramped. The Skyway, the Grand Prix running its original track instead of the half-sized disappointment it has become. Attractions themed around possible futures, instead of just being commercials for Disney's sci-fi properties. People actually walking instead of riding in endless waves of motorized seats, because our entire society wasn't obese and disgusting. I'd trade all of Disney World today just to spend an hour in this park again.
@@rileygruszel5147 And in the process the PeopleMover has totally lost its ability to offer great "previews" of attractions. Not just with Space Mountain but in the days of "If You Had Wings" you had *three* preview windows looking on the attraction because the ride was designed to maximize the preview potential of the PeopleMover. Ever since "Dream Flight" though and continuing with "Buzz Lightyear" this has been lost too since you only get one preview window of the attraction now (the second one).
Amazing. Old recordings from the 70s and 80s of Disney parks have always been kind of an obsession of mine mainly for the historical significance they have. I'd love to hear more if you have anything else you'd like to share.
Thanks, I share that obsession too and my regret is that I didn't do recordings myself in my dozen visits to WDW between 75 and 93. This one I was lucky to get in a trade back in the early 2000s and it was on a CD that also included a 1976 live recording of "If You Had Wings" that has the closing "You do have wings!" voice say, "Eastern.....the Wings of Man" (the original slogan) instead of "Eastern.....we'll be your wings" as was the case from the late 70s on. That's pretty much the one "unique" piece of audio I think I have (along with a 1978 Carousel Of Progress audio with the original Act IV though there are other recordings out there of that). My first video merge to an audio of IYHW was two minutes of crystal clear live audio I grabbed from a site that went defunct in 2002 that others may not know about. (ua-cam.com/video/Q7wYIz-Bk_Q/v-deo.html) Right now my biggest WDW Holy Grail that I hope to see emerge is the isolated underscore of the original "Hall Of Presidents" that used to play in the rotunda waiting area.
Funny how the mission to Mars is at the Magic Kingdom and then years later it's at Epcot center. Going over the speedway you don't hear hi everyone this is Mr Johnson. In his space copter
The notes above specifically mention that footage from 1984, 1986 and 1987 was used to recreate this since that's as far back as footage exists to match with the 76 soundtrack in the key areas (footage of "If You Had Wings" and the RCA "Home Of Future Living" scenes in Space Mountain).
What? The Peoplemover is one of the most beloved attractions to this day, and it still gets decent wait times (sometimes more than 20 minutes) Do I think Disney would ever build a relaxing, IP-less ride like this now? Oh, heck no, but that's a management thing.
This is how I want to remember WDW.
a flat screen tv 30 years early! tomorrow land looked more futuristic before the 1994 remodel.

Who ever uploaded this video clip thank you I miss Jack Wagner's Narration a lot
You're welcome! Glad there are many like me who appreciate and miss the great things of early WDW history.

WDW brought back the Peoplemover after the 70’s. It was still called Wedway Peoplemover. Then it was the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.
Only Disneyland got rid of the Peoplemover. The WDW version has always remained in place.
@@epaddon Ah fabulous! Thanks.
@@Krisnelson1969 Thanks!
Great effort and probably the best way to relive this version of a past attraction. :D 10/10 for the fact this worked near perfect.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Amazing video! Thanks for uploading this
I think you did a darn good job !

I agree completely. WDW is nothing at all like it was in its golden age (1975-93) for me.
You and me both
@@epaddon 75 to about 93 for me as well.
I play the Peoplemover soundtrack from back then on my headphones whenever I ride it nowadays.
Brilliant!!!
I do this for the '94 Jeremy Irons version of Spaceship Earth 🌎
I love how you used to be able to see the queue and loading area of Space Mountain on this ride. Not sure why they boarded that up.
I was wondering if I've been missing seeing the boarding of Space Mountain lately? Thanks for clarifying, hmmmm, wondering why it's boarded up now?
@@jesshavinfun3547 light exposure into the main dome made the tracks visible

This was filmed after 82. There's a full blown image of the Imagination Pavilion featured after the EPCOT model.

People in 2023 do not have the attention span nor the patience for this. It’s sad.
