GearPods! Grail! The engineering on that kit is so incredible. Back when these were for sale I would pore over the website selecting just the right mix of components. Sadly it was never in the cards due to a stringent budget. Like the VSSL it is at core a bottle kit taken to the organizational extreme. On to Part 2!
Absolutely I feel that the price of these were out of a lot of peoples budgets at the time of production even at that time for me I couldn’t afford to purchase one. They are an awesome invention and the designers had all the right ideas. It’s a really cool system. I remember doing the same thing as you, I was always interested in these kits that had modularity and different smaller containers that made up a large kit. I am glad I was able to find one to show everybody

I provided the owner alot feedback on a lot of the gear such as the pods themselves, cook system, shelter system, stove, etc and I won a contest for the naming of the molle compatible kit. These are great kits for sure and I wish they were still in business. I still have several of them and use them all the time.
That is an awesome thing to hear that you were involved in the process during the design of the kit and the carrying case I think they are an awesome system and definitely a great addition to a larger kit or a pretty good standalone last ditch kit type of deal. I wish that there was still a system like this out there a lot of people talk down on this style of kit, but I think there’s a place for every kind of kit. Thanks for the backstory. That’s super awesome to hear.

Yes it’s a really cool Kit I was super excited to find it I still paid less then what they were new but it is still awesome. I remember looking at them when I was younger and wishing to afford them but I never could I’m happy I could go over them now though thanks for the comment

Wow this is so cool! That stove cook system kinda blew me away lol. Would love to see this one tested. Can't think of other ones to see tested right now, but it would be cool to do a sort of comparison. So one pocket altoids kit, one small pouch kit, medium and large if that makes sense.
Now you got me thinking, How could I make something like that. I've seen people use aluminum tubing to make a survival staff. That they put stuff inside. But I wonder how I could make divide so multiply containers hooked together. I shall have to think on this. Nice video by the way..
Checkout the Human Gear Stax pretty cool containers of different sizes that lock together. Not as long as this but similar. I use them for small misc parts but might try a survival kit too
I have seen some people do a real cheap version with PVC pipes and straight connections then they put a divider between each inline connection. I also got these small containers in Battlbox one time that connected together similar to this bit I cannot remember the branding on them they were not quite as wide or tall but similar idea.
Awesome kit and review. I'd prefer it in a soft pouch. I'm not wild about the hard bulky system. Though you could carry water in it in a survival situation
Yes I guess the system floats. I heard it’s not fully waterproof but it’s sealed up enough that it will float for a long time which makes sense being made of plastic and hollow. I will have to check it out myself because it seems like each module would hold water just fine.
Absolutely before I do the overnight stay with this kit I will definitely replace the water purification tablets with a new set of aqua tabs and I will update the medication for sure. Thank you for the comment. I appreciate it.

Yes I believe they are trioxane it’s like a solid fuel tablet. You just light the tablet and it will burn for like 8-10 minutes they are pretty neat!
