For the first time, I almost immediately understood the purpose of a small kit like this, and what it is not. It's not the kit you rely on as the only thing to survive in the backcountry or a deserted island. But it's almost perfect to supplement the EDC of a prepared mind. You already have your phone, a BIC lighter, a knife, and a flashlight in your EDC, you have your trusted boots and suitable clothing, a space blanket, bottles, some snacks, and other stuff in your car, bag, or office, so you can grab them easily. You can build a shelter from whatever is available. So, what is missing? Water purification, basic first aid, and some backups. SAK scissors and tweezers are great.
When I saw the rubber band holding the box I thought it would be a cheap kit, but I actually liked the contents. I think I just missed a small flashlight, as they’re often handy, but for the rest I think it’s quite good for the size and compared to other ones we’ve seen before… and, as always, fun video to watch!
Thank you for coming back and watching I appreciate it 100 percent! I think it is a good thing toss the whole thing in a water bag and add a light and your good to go.
Another topnotch hand-crafted PSK. Victorinox Classic is THE micro knife for me, hardly a day goes by without some tool on it coming in handy, and I'll never forget using one to cut rope wrapped around an outboard prop in the dark on a stormy river---absolute life-saver that evening. Count me as a yes on fishing kits, takes up so little space & weight and builds confidence. Would like to see water purification addressed with this kit (foil to make a boiling bowl? tabs and a Whrilpak?) but this is a great lkit for the money. Thanks WS! Look forward to seeing your custom kits!
Thanks I can’t wait to show them also! Your right for sure though a whirl pack bag would be the easiest thing to put in there you know how much water goes in there without guessing and they fold really small if done right. The creator of this kit does a good job though for the price it’s awesome
Useful kit, keep up the great work, love the new camera angle. Peace from Scotland P.S. would love some stuff, patches, stickers etc, would support a website and other sales as long as you can post to Scotland.
I would be able to ship there but I’m not sure about the cost of shipping it’s probably going to be high but in the end if people are willing to to help the channel out I would greatly appreciate it. I will definitely link it to the channel when I make it!
They are awesome I have a few prototypes that are awesome I’ve been using one for 4 years now and it is a good set up! I definitely think I’m going to set up a website like that soon
Nice Kit. I personally will take a good fishing kit over say snare wire my snare wire is for gear repair and fishing kit is for food because here in south Carolina there are lakes and ponds everywhere and plus the coast so imo fishing kit is worth having if you are in a state that has water consistently but the desert states I can see not having a fishing kit in a survival kit. Also I'm for the survival kit idea 100% and stickers and patches etc.
That’s great to hear I actually had some patches stickers and cups made so far plus a handful of kits. I live in Pennsylvania so we have plenty of streams lakes and ponds also around so I agree with the fishing kits. It’s nice to have in there just in case it would last more than a night or if you just want to use the stuff in it! I also look at snare wire as gear repair also!
I would take that signal mirror and attach it to the inside of the lid. That way, if I have to signal someone quickly (a plane passing overhead, for example), all I have to do is flip the lid open without needing to dig through the kit.
Looks like a basic kit to finish out yourself and honestly it's okay, not bad not great either. That tin can hold a lot of stuff if you pack it right and ditch the gimmick items like the tiny button compass or those sachets with medicine. You should always have atleast a mini 1st aid kit with that sort of stuff.
Yea it’s a good base kit and a good last ditch kit sometimes having that one little package of Tylenol is a good thing sometimes to give to other people without having to get into your pack for a first aid kit. Thanks for the comment i appreciate it!
I thought the same thing I guess on your way out the door maybe you could toss the whole kit into a water bag. If not just hope you find a water bottle or soda can along your journey that some hog left in the woods
I don't quite get the point of the Aqua Tabs without anything to collect water. All in all, it's an interesting kit. But it feels more like an edc/booboo kit. Very few survival items.
Yea I guess it’s marketed as just that SOS SURVIVAL FIRST AID. 😆 they can only fit so much in there. I guess you could toss the whole kit into a water bag before you left
I guess the candles are so you can see in the dark while you're applying first aid . You'd be surprised hoe much light a birthday sized candle can make, especially if you put 2 together. Only problem is, you would have to use one of your storm matches to light the candles . That particular SAK is over $15 so Idk how he can make $ off the kit unless he bought bulk in China or it's a reproduction
It’s used but still they are 7 bucks or so on eBay used if you see when I zoomed in on the blade it says victorinox on the blade so it’s not a fake. It’s not a bad little kit and there’s definitely room for improvement
I never had overseas shipping but I know it can be done but it’s expensive i definitely will make a website shortly and I will put stuff on it with shipping rates for each area!
@@whitetailsurvival2430 I’m looking forward to seeing that website when you can make it. Yes, most probably the cost of shipping so far away will be expensive, but at least I’ll have a look and see if I can get something 😁
@@perepochabsolutely! It’s fun just to build them I’m always open to suggestions also if anyone thinks of anything else that could be added to the master list of the kit they can let me know and I will add it in if it’s popular enough
Agreed. I know I definitely wouldn't be using the toothpick from a used swiss army knife. It feels like this guy just threw together a bunch of stuff from a junk drawer into a kit.
A used SAK on eBay goes for around 7 dollars I’m not sure if you have tried to price a kit out like this to make for yourself but there’s definitely more than 10 dollars involved. Even building in bulk it’s expensive I have acouple hundred dollars into the kits I’m building and that’s buying bulk.
Yea definitely should swap that toothpick out and clean the tool with alcohol but as for throwing junk together idk if that’s true because it seems like he sells a good few of these kits so the person that makes them must do it all the time.
That’s awesome! I like that idea. Having light is a must for me I like to have one because it makes a world of difference than trying to work around a fire!
Every kit should have a fishing kit inside just in case I'm a Hardcore Survivalist I've been lost for 3 days in the winter and still caught fish only food I could get
That’s an awesome story to here I would like to hear more of it! Jump to my instagram page and tell me the story in the comments of one of the pictures or in here either way I like to hear them! I agree I like to have a fishing kit in my survival kits. Some people are totally against them I guess because where they live or they don’t feel like there’s a use for a single night stay but I would rather have it and not need it!

That’s a great idea. Get some 3 m 2 sided tape and hook it right to the lid it would be great
I almost got this exact survival kit after falling down a rabbit hole on UA-cam, and bought the Lifeline Ultralight one instead haha
The lifeline kit is good I have a video on that one also. I did like this kit though it was good.

Why add water tabs if there’s nothing to collect or store water?

Nice kit. Not sure about the salt and pepper. The SAK SD is a great item to have.
Haha I could see the salt for adding electrolytes to your water but the pepper maybe just for flavor to a fish
I would like to have a patch and a sticker. And that would be awesome. I support your channel
I will post a video about the website when I make it and I would really appreciate the purchases to put back into the channel

Is that a used Swiss Army knife? And the other stuff (some free crap) worth maybe 5 or 10 dollars.
Agreed. I know I definitely wouldn't be using the toothpick from a used swiss army knife. It feels like this guy just threw together a bunch of stuff from a junk drawer into a kit.

I think I would remove the fishing kit. Beef up the first aid part, some tape, a light, and a space blanket. Make it a stand alone booboo kit.
