AM3 Cooler Modified to fit AM4

- I have a H100i Corsair liquid cooler, I'm waiting on the new AM4 bracket to ship so that I can install it. I am too impatient to sit here looking at a ryzen box and unable to build it so I found my old air cooler and modified it to fit. Temperatures are 50C idle and 70-80 under load. This is not ideal but should be safe to use while awaiting my bracket. I hope this get's someone else out of a pinch having the same waiting problem I am. Hey, it's better than zip ties :)
fuck this am4 socket really, my hyper 212x turbo is useless now, the free bracket is EOL
You should put the cooler parallel to the memory ram. That way the air flows to rear of the case.
Manufacturer puts the slots in the cooler, can't turn it around. I had top fans exhausting anyway, worked pretty good. Temperatures all around were great.
@@christopherw924 Yes, you can. I have a TX3 too on a MSI B450. I put the cooler parallel to the memory ram. If you look closely, you will see that the cooler also has slots to put the bracket crossed between heat pipes.

@@de5letras1 did you neded to modify anything? I am waiting my ryzen 7 5700x to arive and have TX3(non evo) and all brackets including these shown in video.
@@fernandostanic2035Probablemente no tengas que modificar nada, pero no sé si el TX3 será suficiente para un Ryzen 7 5700x. Recuerdo que no toda la superficie del procesador queda en contacto con el disipador del TX3, hay una parte que no está en contacto por ser más grande. Te hablo de mi Ryzen 5 2600x, no sé si el 5700x será similar en tamaño al 2600x. Lo menciono porque en tu caso al tratarse de un Ryzen 7 tal vez caliente más. Tendrás que verificar si el TX3 es suficiente para ese CPU.
Motherboard manufacturers really screw things up with this for AM4, is either AMD didn't tell them that they will change things for installing for their new AM4 Fan or they just didn't know.
Just do simple thing, loose all 4 scrre, and try to put all just mayb 2-4cycle, than u can put ur cooler, that, tight a little bit, just use ur feel to screw that, more simple

Bro, i just bought AM4 cpu cooler, i just saw this video and damn its working like you did i use hyper 212 evo and its works like a charm.
I'm gonna check hyper 212 evo temperature vs thermalright assasin 120 refine temperature.
In a horrible case of irony, I picked up a huge amount of conversion brackets for like a penny and sold them online.....only to eventually need one myself after I ran out when I finally got an am4 platform when used deal popped up locally too great to pass off
Eu usei sua ideia pra usar um cooler box de cobre AM3 numa MB AM4. A garra ficava muito acima do encaixe. Lixando consegui instalar sem nenhum esforço na MB e as temperaturas estão ótimas.

dude is it possible to cool my am3 cpu with an am4 cooler? my am3 cooler died and its really hard to find a new am3 cooler but there is shitton of am4 cheap and good coolers out there so i was wondering is it possible to just slam a new am4 cooler on my old ass am3 cpu and be good with it?

Borok Obomo just look at the support list on a bunch of coolers and they will have am3 on there
