    for years I've been fascinated by the abilities of drummers. as a dude who plays guitar, always wanted to learn how to play drums... this E-kit price range, functions & connectivity etc. it is on my potential buying list.. when in the past.. my average price range of guitar is 600-1k.. then amp fx processor costs ect.. why not. 1 less guitar on the wall but try something I've always wanted to do

      You should check out Mike Mangini. He has the ability to have all 4 limbs playing different time signatures at the same time. Truly a machine-like mind and amazing drummer.
      Edit: Hes a nice guy too. That's important to mention as I appreciate humbleness in incredibly talented people.

Research led me here and I think I found something to tell everyone I want for my birthday instead of the usual I don’t know 😂 debating on getting the expansion pack or waiting a but either way super excited!!

    Really great realistic sounding rock sets installed in this set. Which is what a rock player like myself needs. Unlike Roland who has all those ridiculous unusable keyboard sounds installed. I was also impressed to hear a China high boy cymbal in the mix. Lastly, the 10 inch snare is a huge advantage over other sets in this price range that have 8 inch snares. Because the snare drum is the heart of your set, you can still live with 8 inch toms.

    I paired the Simmons titan 50 with a Harbinger M200- BT 4 channel PA system from guitar center and it sounds great it's good that you can tweak the sound on the PA. It has a deep bass and crisp clear sound and is loud.

    Just picked up one of these with a significant discount. The snare plays and sounds really great. In fact, all the drums sound really good and the heads have a nice bounce to them. The bass drum is the loudest (acoustically) but isn’t too bad; digitally, it sounds fine with most of the kits. I’m really disappointed with the cymbals though, i can’t seem to get the much sound out of them - they’re really quiet. I’m actually watching this review to hear his cymbals which sound much better than mine in all the kits. Lastly, the high hat is garbage. I can’t seem to get a feel for the pedal; opening and closing the high hat just doesn’t sound or feel right. This would be a much better kit if i could get the cymbals to come alive.

    Using a pedalboard/mixer with my Nitro kit for effects sends/EQ on hand,and man does my kit sound better.Compression pedal/Noise suppressor/boost/ and slight phaseshift brings the sounds to life!Some saturation gives the drums a classic 70's feel which I love. Everything just sounds better especially the cymbals.Even modified the entire rack that wobbled so bad.95% of it is literally gone.Using clamps/cymbal stands and now it's rock solid and friggin cool looking to boot.🗽🛸🤖❤️

    I tried out the Titan at a GC yesterday. One thing that I noticed was when I hit the ride cymbal or open hi-hat and let it ring, that ringing immediately stopped or went way down in volume when I hit the bass drum pad, and possibly also happened when I hit the snare. Almost as if there was a polyphony issue like what you'd find with cheap or older keyboards. The cymbals and hi-hat didn't seem as loud when I played a beat vs. just hitting them alone. I asked the salesperson about this, and he said maybe the module just needed some configuration adjustments. Your review didn't mention this problem, nor did I hear it in the sound samples, so maybe the unit you tried didn't have this issue. The speaker I was playing through was also set on a low volume, so I don't know if this was part of the problem.

    I'm so lost what to buy for my 10yo son. I dont want to wish I got something better in a few years. I can't decide between the titan 50 expanded, and have some leftover funds for a drum monitor and throne, or the 1250 which is honestly a little high in price for me. But like I said I don't want to regret getting him a titan 50 in 3-5 years. Titan 50 is newer and the app capabilities seem cool, but the 1250 has dual zone everything.
    There's also a used roland td-07kv in good condition for 675 near me, I'm overwhelmed and Christmas only happens once a year I gotta make this count 😮‍💨

I'm actually considering a roland td- 17kv or 17kvx as well since all the trouble I've seen people have with the snare triggers on the simmons, going through multiple snares, has me apprehensive to get the simmons even though you get so much for the money, for what you get at the price its really enticing. The sales end today so I'm doing as much research as I can. Simmons 1250 is on sale for $850, the 07kv is $1050, and the 07kvx is $1500, Roland's are $500 off. Idk lol 🤷‍♂️

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  Рік тому +2

      The Titan 50 and the Suge both have 10" snares and single zone cymbals. the surge comes with dual zone toms, the titan doesn't but the inputs are dual zone compatible. The Titan has audio and midi over usb as well as audio and midi over bluetooth. The suge only has USB midi. The surge has more sounds, but I think the titan has better sounds. The expiration idea is highly dependent on the drummer. If you've ever been to any rehearsal studio, or shared band room, you will see it's easy for careless players to mess up anything, no matter how good it is.

      @@demonicsweaters I ended up traveling 2 hours to get a used Alesis Command for $350. Doesn’t have the presets of the Titan, but was the right price for creating my own kits. Wish it didn’t only accept mono samples, but I can always record onto Abelton. Given that I didn’t wanna travel w/o 1st checking it out I went to Guitar Center, and another employee was complaining about the quality of Simmons. Oddly Simmons is owned by Guitar Center.

      I've never played the command, but when looking at the specs, it's not really worth the extra cost over the Surge in my opinion. The surge is a nice solid kit for the money, but the Titan 50 has more features in the module. If you plan on moving it around to gigs, then I'd get the Surge over the Titan. But if it's gonna stay at home, then the Titan.

    I wonder if the poor quality sounds are there on budget kits just to make people pay more for more expensive kits.
    Realistically, it costs absolutely NOTHING for these companies to put their high quality sounds on the low end kits.
    Drum modules are advanced enough to be able to play high quality sounds at any price, so honestly feels really off to hear some of the sounds of this kit. They sound bad on purpose, especially the cymbals. Almost like a super compressed MP3 file.

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  Рік тому +1

      I don't agree. As someone who has extensively played several kits in this price range, the sounds in the Titan 50 are way ahead of kits like the Alesis Nitro, Surge, and all of the Donner kits. You have people leaving similar comments on videos $6000 Roland kits. Sound is subjective. Have you ever designed a drum module? Do you actually know what it takes to include VST quality sounds in a module as far as memory, processing, and storage? To give you some idea, Superior Drummer 3 is over 256gb installation size and costs $400. One kit takes over 5 seconds to load on a high-end computer. This kit is under $500 and gives you nearly every way under the sun to connect to various devices.

    • @ShoryYTP
      @ShoryYTP Рік тому

      @@demonicsweaters Couldn't they just take their high end sounds, compress them to 192kb/s mp3 files and put them on low end modules? I'm not talking about the sheer quality of the files themselves. The sounds in budget kits are very different, probably not even recorded but poorly synthesized just to give them that cheap sound.
      Taking preexisting high quality samples and just compressing them to usable mp3s does NOT make them sound nearly as bad as what you normally find on ~500$ kits

      @@synthetic88 so why do low end modules even work? There is no inherent difference between their high quality recorded sounds and their cheap synthesized ones. They are all files.
      If the low end kits can play the cheap sounds, why not just take the high quality sounds and encode them in the same format that works with low end kits. They can play them after all
