Really appreciate that you’re up front about your relationship with the company at the very beginning of the video. It doesn’t mean you can’t be honest and objective, but it shows you respect your viewers and want them to know. So many UA-camrs OBVIOUSLY have relationships with companies but never disclose it, and to me that’s super slimy. You’ve gained a sub!
Sir like I said before great review. The forte is the best all around blade. But for a black man you might want to go with the Carver for a closer shave if the head is not sensitive I'm just letting the brothers know. 😎

I think a lot of us melinated folks have skin that is more easily irritated. Sounds like we need the most expensive one(Baron blade)🤦🏾♂️.

I also have a bunch of scars from an accident when I was a kid. They are basically ridges and trenches on my skull that look like huge wrinkles. Glad you mentioned it works with a scarred head. It's very annoying using a traditional head shaver on my scalp. Mine is prolly more uneven than your friends. Would you say that in this situation the blade choice matters? Would one handle the uneven surface better??

Good video. I have the Platinum. I've been using it for about 10 months - great shaver, I definitely recommend the Pitbull shaver. Mine came with the 5 head blade. I received my Barron Pro 4 head blade today. I'll be giving that a try in a few days. Since the "Pro 4x" series blades are somewhat new - SUGGESTION: show how to "disassemble" the new Pro blade for cleaning and reassemble.

I typically just use beard oil or beard butter. If you don't use these products, my favorite is Men's Lubriderm.

Great review sir!! I thought from most of the reviews that this little shaver would give me a close shave. NOPE!!! Wet or dry if you like the feel of sandpaper when you are done, then this is the electric razor for you. Returned mine day one!! However, I own an Andis and a Panasonic ES LV9Q, and they both get me BBS like a DE or SE, wet or dry. Andis is dry only, but Panasonic is wet or dry. If you want to spend some money get the Panasonic. Change the outer blade once a year, and inner blade every two years. The cleaning stand takes care of cleaning, lubing and drying. Amazingly close…..to the skin. Absolutely love it! No I am not a paid advertiser. Just want you guys to get a great shave like I get! God bless.

I’ve started shaving my head, in between getting a leaf razor or a skull shaver. Heck I may get Both. I’ve actually been using a safety razor/double edge razor on my head. I like it, but would prefer something I could use quicker, and I know both the leaf and skull shaver will be quicker.

Update 7-25-21: been using Skull Gold Pro for about 2 months. this product eliminated all those irritating head bumps and nicks from manual shaving. Not one irritation since.
my only regret: wish i woulda purchased sooner, years ago. Worthy investment!

Awesome review I have a question on the SkullShaver website they have these blades but some say Pro 4 version, then the 5 version, and the pro 3. I'm a little confused on the different versions.
From SkullShaver themselves.
Both blade designs can achieve a complete head shave in 90 seconds or less for many customers.
The PRO 4 head is our newest design and has several performance improving enhancements over the original 5 head design. Even though the PRO blades only have 4 shaving heads, each shaving head is more effective in the PRO design. The PRO blades also come apart for easy cleaning.
The PRO 3 head blades are made for shaving tightly contoured areas such as the face and neck. Some customers like it for shaving around their ears, other customers shave their entire head with just the PRO 3 head blade.

Do you recommend any pre shave oils? I tried the Pitbull gold for the 1st time yesterday and it's left a couple of sore bits on my neck. I've wet shaved for 10 plus years so I'm guessing my head/neck will get used to it but any tips would be appreciated. Great video. Cheers
I think it will. Which blade do you have? The forte and baron are best for sensitive skin. I don't recommend oil. You will want to use shave cream...no oils or gels.
Gillette shaving gel which foams up is good for me with this
Do they offer different closeness of shave? I'm not sure but I think i have coarse hair, I have the gold which came with the forte and I find that after shaving i still feel stubble left behind and wanted it as smooth as possible. I love the device and I know it works because when i use it in dry i can see how much hair comes out when i empty the blade I just want it as close as possible.
I think the Forte blade gets the closest with less irritation. But keep in mind, with an electric shaver, you will never get 100% smooth. I have never used anything better than the Skull Shaver though.
LOVED this video. I was rather disappointed with the Baron because it didn't cut the hair as well as the Forte. The Baron had left hair on my head.

Depends on which one you buy. The silver comes with the carver I believe, and the Forte comes with the Gold and Platinum.

You can use in the shower or out. Regular shave cream only, no gels. I clean it every few shaves, and I shave every other day or so. Hope this helps!

Wife bought me the standard pit bull shaver. First time I used it, it knicked my lower neck multiple times, and it keeps on knicking my neck. Maybe its time to upgrade to a better blade.

@@Kensconsin I've been using it now for a good month or so and I could punch my self for not buying one earlier. Love this shaver for my head. I can't say it does the best job around my neck just below the jawline, but for my head, there is nothing like it. Also, it is not messy and is very easy to clean. I just love it.

Quick question. Is there a blade head that leaves the hair a tad shorter? I like the freshly shaved 5 o’clock shadow look. But these all seem like they leave your head more clean shaven. Thoughts?
The only thing shorter is the One Lion Gold Pro, which does get skin close. But it sounds like you don't want it as short? The baby beast clipper is a regular trimmer that will leave it a little longer.

Does the baron blade cause spots on the neck ,as I used previously the bald eagle smart ,and I didn't use on back neck as it causes spots and redness.
It doesn't for me, whereas some other shavers have.

@@Mixxwizard This is exactly what I wanted to know too as I shave my head twice a day with the Philips aquatouch shaver. I find the blades go blunt very quick on the Philips roughly between 8-10 weeks. I really want to upgrade to a pitbull but need to know that the blades are up to scratch. Seeming you have had yours for 4 months now is your pitbull still giving you that close shave as it first did when you took it out the box or have you had to replace the blades already?
Hey Claude, yes I'm still getting that nice close shave. A few days after my post. I ventured out & purchased the mid grade blade and they are working better for my head. So I had to restart the timer on the new blades. To be continued😂🤣
What about the CLOSEST shave? I understand the Baron is best for sensitivity, but is the Baron the closest or are they the same as far as residual stubble?

It depends on the package you chose. They change it up sometimes, but it should come with the case if you ordered the platinum.
Got my Palm shaver and like it so far. I wish I had got the Pitbull now that I see how much I use it. I know I asked about the blades being interchangeable. Will I get the same experience if I purchase a 4 blade forte and put it on my Palm? Does the base have any real difference other than charge/use time? I contacted the company about maybe returning the Palm and upgrading but if I can get identical performance by just getting a blade upgrade I would probably be just as well off doing that. Sorry for the long question, just wasn't sure who I could ask except you that might know about the topic. Thanks again!

@@Kensconsin I found a FAQ on the website that makes the claim that the Skull Shaver base is stronger but it doesn't specify how. As in stronger motor? Who knows. I do know that the company sent me a chart and it shows both the Palm and Skull Shaver Silver being identical on paper in terms of charge time, use, ect. However motor speed and RPM power is not listed so that's about as much information as I could find.
man I wish i could grow a beard like that but it never fills in for me and where it does grow it grows lopsided. thanks for the video I appreciate the breakdown since I own the skull shaver and trying to figure out if its worth it for me to get the baron or stick with the forte.
Thanks for stopping in! What is the longest you have tried to grow the beard? A lot of times, time will cover in the patches, and periodic trims are good for keeping everything even. I would go with the Baron if it's real sensitive. Otherwise the Forte should be fine.
I love mine but now only 3 heads spin and the white holder piece doesn’t stay in place! If I take the cap off to clean, everything falls out! Any suggestions?
Try twisting the center white dial. That should lock it in place.

The company is based in New Jersey, and the shavers are made in China. Great quality though, the CEO of the company has done a great job in making sure that the quality was there.

You should get a quicker shave since the blades are designed that way.
