    Had recently purchased Remington RX7 and had my second head shave today. WOW, what a shaver. Really put it to the test today and shaved after a week off hair growth and it was just stunning. Such a great shave. I did get a bit of a redness on my neck the first time when I started the shave at the top and moved back but this time I started at the back with less pressure and it was so, so much better. No itch or burn. Perfect Shave. And only took about 5 minutes. (never used the turbo at all) 😊👍🏻👍🏻💯

    • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  7 місяців тому +1

      Yeah back of neck is always sensitive because it moves/stretches constantly. The hairs on back of neck are so thin that I glide over it with my bad buddy for no more than 3-5 seconds. Then I spray on irritation aftershave treatment and keep it moisturized with aftershave butter.

    @TheCutBuddy Nice video, bruh! I'm also a Baldheaded Brotha (by heredity) and this video hit the spot! Lol I love that you called out the 🧢 from some of the other brands, while still giving them respect during your presentation. Haha I'm just bummed I didn't see it until now.
    I just returned the Skullshaver I got for Christmas because it just didn't cut/shave close enough for me. (I've been using the Fusion 5 Blade for many years, so your info on razor blades was also very good. I generally don't have issues with my blades, but let's face it, $hit happens sometimes (bumps, nicks, etc.)). But...I have been in the market for a head shaver to make it less cumbersome, so I gave it a try.
    I like that as a Baldheaded Brotha you've actually created something that seems to be for 'our' kind of heads. ✊🏿 I'm going to place an order today and try it out!
    Thanks,
    DMack

    I just bought the Remington Balder Boss and will be returning it. It doesn't shave smoothly, kind of drags. I had one of the original Skull Shavers and it was smooth, but die after a couple of years. I'm thinking of going with the Skull Gold now.

    • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  10 місяців тому

      Remington gave me my least favorite result because of the way the blades are designed. As for the motor. None of the shavers have a brushless motor. So these shavers will all have a 2 year life on their brush motor. The good thing is all of them should have a warranty. The shavers with the strongest motor will be your higher end skull shaver or the bald buddy. The bald buddy has the same power as the pitbull platinum. Maybe try both side by side before the 30 day free return is up.

      That's love! Thank you. Most important thing about bald rotary shavers is keeping the blades clean and clear. Whenever you hear the shaver start to slow down, just keep it running and place blades under faucet of water. It will throw up all the debris and hair. Then it will speed back up!

      @TheCutBuddy  Рік тому +2

      nice! enjoy it bro. Just make sure you keep the blades clean and store it in a dry place. If you have thicker hair, get you some good aftershave spray to help ease any shave burn or irritation. Usually takes 1-2 weeks for your scalp to get used to rotary blade movement since it's so different than others like trimmers, foil, or razors. So if you feel irritation the first 2-4 times, its just your pores trying to understand a new technique.

      @@TheCutBuddyhey man, does the dipping in water cleaning method work with all of them?

    • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  Рік тому +2

      @ELLIOT8209 yes in general. But you have to try to dip and run during your shave as soon as you hear them begin to bog. Waiting until the end of a shave could be too late. If you wait too long to clear out, you will have to open the blades and brush debri out. Hope this helps. If you are shaving stubble you will need to do this less frequently. If you are shaving 4 mm - 1 cm hair or coarse/thick hair, you will need to clear out frequently. If hair is longer than 1 cm, you need to trim hair down before using a rotary shaver.

      Np brother. It all comes down to regimens for any shaving tool for us coarse hair users. Kinda like training for football vs rubgy. Prepping and post treatment are critical. But exfoliation and great aftershave are 100% the most important. As summer comes, don't skip put on sunscreen! I neglected that for many years because I assumed my skin was sun safe lol. • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  4 місяці тому

      @hajj623 thanks for the kind words. After you shave, let your hair air dry. Spray an aftershave that has salicylic acid in it. We have a good post shave spray, but their are others like tend skin and skin tight. After applying that, it will kill any bacteria and close your pores. I store my aftershave in the fridge! Then, I apply a bald/butter. We also sell a good one with Willow Bark and Witch Hazel. The key is to cake it on like how you would diaper cream to a baby. My newest thing is to wear a durag immediately after I apply it for 1 hour. Over the next 48 hrs, apply post shave or butter as needed. Silk sheets and durags definitely help prevent fibers from rubbing and irritating. Avoid touching your head with fingers!! Good luck.

    Interesting you say ‘’traditionally you used to use one of these…’’
    Traditionally, would refer to what came before any of these machines you show.
    I think a blade then razor at a traditional barber would have come way before we all tried to get a clean bald head like yours.
    Apart from that, a decent review. I’m convinced now. A Wahl Balding clipper will suffice
    Thanks.

    • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  Рік тому +1

      I agree with you in whole. I think I was saying traditionally from the stand point of electric rotary shaving. Before there was ergonomic rotary, there was the handle bar design to shavers because they were designed for faces not heads. Sorry for any confusion, my vocab takes me to about 7th grade and the spark notes did the rest lol. If the balding clipper works for you, use it! if i were to use a clipper or trimmer, I go with a T shaped blade trimmer for balding over a balding clipper.
      But thats only because I have used T-edgers my whole life. Best of luck!

    Thank you for the review. I'm wondering how powerful these cordless shavers are. I'm used to using corded devices and worry that cordless shavers won't compare. Also, how long does a fully-charged device work? Additionally, how long would it be before the battery stops taking charges?

    • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  4 місяці тому

      @ChristopherDivona corded and cordless devices are pretty even now. The battery and brush motors in recent technology have improved a lot. Is a corded device more reliable, Yes. Fully charged shavers are going to give you around 70 minutes of usage. 50 minutes of higher power usage. You begin to see a drop off when battery is running lower. Each shave will take you 5 minutes or so. Battery life is a gamble. I have seen customers blow their motors and melt their cords. It all comes down to care. Li ion batteries are pretty reliable it's the brush motors that have a 1k-3k hours lifetime. The more stress you put on a brush motor, the less hrs it will last. Hope this helps.

The first time I did it I cut it dry. I was happy with the results but last night I cut it wet and wow, it looks fantastic. Honestly, it was easier to cut when it was wet. It takes a little bit more time because of the cleanup and preparation but overall the tool did a fantastic job.

    • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  3 місяці тому

      @uwillbe your shaving routine has to change when transitioning from blade to shaver. Pre shave prep and post shave care are very critical. Also, it's going to take a few weeks for your hair pattern to get used to being cut a different way. Initially, it took me 4 shaves for me to understand that I needed to electric shave in the shower with shaving cream. I also learned what motioned of the shaver and how many passes my head could tolerate. My main findings were that I needed a good aftershave and butter. 50% of irritation comes from your post shave procedure. I also wear a durag for 1 hour after I shave to avoid any friction upsetting my head. Hope some of these tips help.

Your lawn needs a few cuts to get used to a zero turn after being cut with a push mower for years. If you drive a sports car that has a manual egear, it needs some time to get used to the way you drive it. Thanks for the reveiw! One question: Is it recommended to put some oil on the blades every now and then like with normal shavers or should I avoid doing that?

    • @TheCutBuddy
      @TheCutBuddy  7 місяців тому +1

      That's an excellent question. Yes, you can put a very small amount of oil on there. To apply oil, you need to put it behind the blades. Don't put it on the side that touches your head. Then, run the shaver for a while to allow oil to make its way around. Then, be sure to clean any residue oil that may touch your head. I would say that oiling may be more critical for people who are using it dry. Dry shavers aren't giving shavers a chance to cool down as much as wet shavers. So lubricant becomes more helpful to extend life of blades.

    My hair is pretty thick, so I do use a multiblade (3 bladed) disposable off brand razors (well I guess they are a brand ... "Schtick" or something close to that) , that last me about a week each .
    2 reasons to use multi blade razors: a single blade (even a dual blade) wears out very quickly. Also, I've found that I pressed a single/dual blade much harder to the skull to get my slightly uneven head (got a few bumps along the years) well done .
    With 3 (sometimes 4, when I'm splurging -- these days nobody's splurging) blades , I've found that I'm much more relaxed and don't put on as much pressure, so my skin is much less irritated .
    Anyways, I'm looking into a machine like in this video because in the winter it gets a bit cold, and as I get older, it's not as much fun to take a shower each day (I shave my head with a blade in the shower) .

      @crobertdivona6855 I personally use a trimmer (Trim Buddy) on my chest and back. But the Bald Buddy is the only shaver out of these that has an extended handle that will comfortably reach the places you outline. I'd still recommend you have a good trimmer for body parts. Get a trimmer and a shaver for your arsenal. It is always best to trim longer hairs down and then use a shaver for smoothing. As far as trimmers for the body, any good motor trimmer will do the job for the body. I just wouldn't use the trimmer part that the 2 shavers in here comes with. They are no good.

      @southeastd.c5636 Thanks for the insight. So I'm partial to the cut buddy irritation treatment and our butter. I created them because I had your issues. But... let's work with what you got. After you shave, get a super cold towel and put it on your head for 2 minutes. Then... To avoid major burning, put the Nivea on first lightly and then put the tightskin on. That will lessen the kick in the nuts lol. That burn is necessary to really clean your head. Let dry. Then blot or cake on another layer of Nivea. Almost like how you would put on a baby for diaper wash or neosporene on a cut. Then put that durag on for a few hours. When you take the durag off your head should look calmer and pores closed nicely. Keep applying balm every few hours and wearing durag. The bald is like medicine and the durag is the bandage.

      Correct. This video is a year old. We changed the blades a few months ago to hindge design because many customers were dropping the individual blades down the sink. The product cuts with the same effectiveness. All we did was added hindges to the blades. Your version actually has an upgraded motor, which we added for free. We are actually doing some more changes later this year. We improve the item 1-2 times a year based on customer feedback.

    What shaving cream do you recommend for your head?

      I use The Cut Buddy one, but it all depends. If you get irritation, find one that has cooling like Eucalyptus, Menthol, Tea Tree. If your hair is really coarse, you should use one that is foaming or conditioning. Foaming shaving cream gets you a closer shaver with a rotary shaver, but you have to clean the shaver more often by powering on the shaver in water.
