Wife just lost her hair from chemo and I don't want her to have to be bald alone. Thank you for helping me do this!
That’s adorable from you. Wish the best for you two
Prayers for yall, you are a real man.
Sorry to hear that’s she’s going through that. I’m glad she has you by her side
this guy is a legend
brother please read about water fasting or snake diet, that help a lot of people with cancer and chemo symptoms, i wish the best for you 2 ♥
Who else was super excited for when he will finally get the spot he missed at first? :D
Me!!
The same feeling as The Office's "DVD scene" lol
@@GregBoswell428 I get ingrown hairs from shaving my neck with razor very coarse hair I have had it on my head to from skull shaver will this prevent it I’ll try next time

Lmao my OCD was going crazy.
I’m 29 and have been shaving my head for a few years now. I just used conditioner for the first time. All I can say is wow. It’s really works.
me 2.. i have been shaving for 16 years and always used soap or bodywash.. never had any rash or other problems. but the hint with the conditioner is pure gold. thx
I also use body wash. But I just use conditioner man man lol I gotta smooth head
Same here, conditioner fab and saves loads of money 👍
I just brought some razors and shaving cream yesterday, been bald for about a year but I've been using clippers/shaver. Glad I kept the receipt so I can go swap the shaving cream for conditioner. Lol.
i'm going to have to try this conditioner trick now lol
I am a bald woman who came across this channel by chance. This has to be one of the best head shaving videos I've seen. Thanks for making it. xxx
Thank you!
Thanks so much. How many times do you use that razor. Do you dispose it after every shave? This is the best tutorial ever
@@mamphetelisekantsi7926 with the Harry’s razor, I’ll use the cartridge probably about 4 times before changing it out
@@GregBoswell428Thank you so much.
Well, I guess I'm just gonna have to make a video then. Shave your head in the shower! They make these things called, "shower mirrors".
I shaved my head but now I can feel the elements 10 times more gets pretty cold during winter ❄️
Haha, I can relate! I didn't realize after shaving my head during the warm months that I would notice my head feeling colder in the cooler temperatures. Time to buy a winter ski hat now :)
Yes lol. On the plus side, hats stick really well to a buzz-cut or shorter.
Hahshs i just shaved 10 inches of hair off cause I was thining in front. Last night it was -15 here in Wisconsin. But ya hat just velcro right on lol
I live in the sticky south. Yeah, it's cold here too for a southern boy. You know it actually froze 2 days in a row? Lol. It didn't stay froze, but it froze twice. If you have a half inch of solid ice in your bucket pond, for us that's hell.
All that to say I'm looking forward to any breeze at all when it's a billion degrees out, probably in like 2 weeks. So far I can feel the heat dissipate in the slightest draft.
@@-8_8- Tennessee! I feel ya! Lol
Been debating going bald for over a year with my hairline receding quite badly. I’m only 27, I watched this video, bought the stuff and finally went for it! I’ve had so many compliments on how good a job I’ve done and how good it looks, definitely never looking back now! If you’re debating it, DO IT! Go the whole hog, fresh shave, nice and clean and neat! You’ll love it! Massive thanks for these tips!
Hey, that’s great to hear! I’m glad you shared it.
Welcome to the brotherhood, brother.
Nah, having hair is ten time better.
Nah, it's not!! Jason Statham and Vin Diesel wouldn't look good with hair at all, Bald looks better with beard@@umad3024
My hairline is not getting better and I'm a little scared, but it's really comforting to know that videos like these exist. Thanks!
Just go with it. You'll wonder why you waited.

Bro I'm 33, 3 years into shaving my head. I was scared asf but you literally feel liberated after the first time. It's beautiful and freeing 👌👌
@@kennychipp5386 Nice. Took the plunge a few months ago and got no regrets, it was a huge relief. Now I'm addicted to that smooth shave feeling XD
Hey brother. Just do it. a lot more respect and dominance around you! ;)
I'm doing the same.
I had given up on shaving my head due to razor burn and terrible reactions to shaving my head until I saw this video and bought these exact products to try on my scalp. 3 shaves in and my head feels perfect, actually it's better than ever. Thank you for your knowledge and for helping me out!
Update on my shaves. I've been doing your conditioner technique for about a month now and I'm sold completely. It has helped me out so much so thank you again for the advice.
I've been shaving my head for at least 8 years now and have always used shaving cream till I saw this video. I gave it a go and I’ll never buy another can of shaving cream again. Game changer, thank you brother.
AT LAST
An honest video on how to shave your head the fastest and easiest way. The conditioner tip was amazing!!
Thanks Greg
Thank you Greg for not overcomplicating it like everyone else. This is so relieving. I have been using an electric shaver, but definitely plan to go back to a razor.
I have been shaving my head for at least 5-10 years. I always used shaving cream. I recently switched from 5 blades on my head to a two blade (that actually gives me a closer shave). The thing that gets me the absolutely closest shave was following your advice of using hair conditioner. I didn't think this would work, and fully expected it to clog my razor like shaving oil does. WHAT A GREAT TIP!! I also agree about shaving just twice a week too. Anything more than that and the problem areas on my scalp can't handle it!
Do you shave with and against the grain I get razor bumps on back of my head.
Trying to fix this
@@joe_casinoacoustic1773 with
This honestly helped me alot I recently got rid of my curled mop head afro because I got tired of the weight and maintaining it, waking up with hair in my eyes, but I've never did bald before ever, and you have helped tremendously and I look good so far I just gotta sit in the sun now to get that color (and the conditioner tip was a big save of money so thanks for that)
Greg, thank you so much for telling us to use a conditioner, instead of shaving cream. I've been shaving my head bald for nearly 13 years, and I've never thought of using such a smart way to make shaving easier.
Thanks for revisiting head shaving. I started using conditioner for head shaves after watching one of your previous videos.
I finally took the plunge and this helped tremendously for confidence. So I'll keep you posted on how those tips work out. Thanks again.
Great minimalistic way of shaving. Started shaving my head almost a month ago, and your help is so much better than those “use this, and then this, and than that” tutorials. You deserve more views than the GQ’s (or Gillette’s) video on this topic
Thank you so much :)

Do I have to apply the SPF filter on the scalp?
@@mrflexii2067 If you want to protect yourself from sunburn, it is a good idea. I personally would definitely use it.
Just shaved my head for the second time in my life. Using conditioner is a huge game changer. Thank you for this tip.
Greg, this was awesome. Been a super short clipper cut guy for years and was always weirded out by the thought of a razor on my scalp. This straightforward tutorial gave me the guts to go for it and all went perfectly well! Did everything exactly as you recommended. Thanks for putting this out there!
Thank you very much!!! After 15 years of shaving trying EVERYTHING and EVERY KIND OF RAZOR to avoid bumps and irritation, I saw your video and it has really changed my life. After two shaves I confirm your way is the best, and also the fastest, easiest and cheapest!!!
That's so good to hear!
This video is incredibly helpful, was struggling with going bald (I'm 21 now) and i decided to just see what it would look like, yours and many other videos have been a god send! thank you!
conditioner during headshave is my top-1 tip of the year, thanks!
Thank you, Greg. I bought the Harry's razor and some conditioner - it went well, and I'm happy with the results. I appreciate the time you put into this video. Cheers!
Greg, I have been shaving my head now since mid-March when the pandemic started because my barbershop was closed and I had considered doing this anyway because of my receding hairline and I love it now. Thanks for the great video!
Recently fully shaved my head due to age, thinning - Not looking back. Pure freedom. If you are thinking about it, or have it on your mind, just do it - you
Won’t regret it.
Greg,
Thank you for this awesome video and tutorial tip! I used the conditioner method tonight and it worked wonders, especially going against the grain. Felt really nice using conditioner on the face as well.
Thanks,
Chris
Thank you. I've been shaving my head for about 2 years & haven't gotten it all the way down yet, but this video has helped me cut my time in half. I really appreciate your technique & tutorial. If nothing else I've got more confidence and like I said, I've cut my time in half.
Thank you again!
Shaving with conditioner? Never heard that before. Looks like it works! Excellent tutorial!
I've been using an electric shaver (the five head variety) and it was leaving my scalp not entirely bald, but also giving me irritation and bumps no matter what shaving schedule I used. I bought a MotoShaver and it worked great but It was so awkward for me and afterward when washing the shave cream off, stinging. I'm so excited to try the conditioner method. Your nicely shaved head is goals! Thanks for this video.
As a barber who shaves his head i can say your on point with your advice.
Have been shaving my head on and off over the years. This is the first time I have used conditioner and it came out great.
This is probably THE best tutorial on youtube. Your tip was awesome. Went from hating to do this, to being a breeze.
I use to get a LOT of irritated skin. I have been using your method for about a year now (randomly stumbled opun your video again), using conditioner instead of creame was the best thing I could do for my skin.
I really like your "Less is more" approach. Some guys over complicate this too much
I've been shaving my head for 18 years, and never even thought about using conditioner. Sounds like it's a game changer though! I am going to try it this morning, my wife has plenty of OGX conditioner.
Well I tried the very same conditioner based on this video and I have to say it was an excellent shave. Thank you so much for the tip.
I watched your tutorial when I first shaved my head 3 weeks ago. Since then I did it few more times. The results are amazing. Thank you.
Great tips. I just started head shaving a few weeks ago. Been using zero guard clippers for years with not enough frequency. I find shaving keeps me in check with a routine. Perfect timing thanks for the tips!
Been needing more consistency in my routine too!
@@Visionofimmortality all I can say is both good and bad habits are hard to break!
Refreshing to read. I’ve been doing the same. Zero guard for many many years. Recently decided to start shaving. I see this is going to definitely keep me in check.
Thanks so much. I'm 65 years old. My hair is thinning, and I just decided to shave it off. This is the best video I've seen. Thanks again!
Thanks for the conditioner technique. I used it tonight and it worked really well.
Thanks for the tips, Sir.
I have been using shaving foam but now I started using conditioner.
Very simple. I just shaved my head today, for the first time and it took me like an hour. I was afraid of razor cuts. Thanks.
I am 25, shaved just for fun, to see how it looks. Now i am back to give feedback and say i love it, and doing it again now, after a week or so! Nice when you can just go to internet and there's a person like Greg, who give you all the requered info about stuff. Thanks a lot!
I appreciate it man!
I just started shaving my head a few months ago and just discovered this method. It works! Thanks for the advice! 😎
Conditioner advice was priceless. Thanks a lot.
I’ve been shaving my head for 14 years and can say that your tips are SPOT ON. I do the exact same as far as only shaving about twice a week. Usually Wednesday and Saturday are my head shaving days. For me, 3 full days in between shaves is the sweet spot. I use a Mach 3 but may try Harry’s 5 blade. Definitely going to try the conditioner trick. 👍🏼
3 days in between shaving (or 2 times a week) would also be best for me. My "problem" is that I have almost no hair left at the top so I don't like my look two days after shaving. "Have" to wear a cap then or accept some skin irritation. Stubbles look good at you.
Thanks for the tip with the conditioner. I used shaving foam for years but a few days ago I switched to shaving creme (with only natural ingredients) and I like it a lot. It's very good for my skin too and the skin does not burn afterwards!
Took a trip to the store today, have been shaving for 6 months. Picked up the same conditioner and Shavers. Wow! Such an amazing razor! Thank you
Thanks for the tips good sir!!! Loving the vids you put out!
Thank you!
Absolute game changer. Every element of my current head shave routine had been wrong. Feel so much better after trying this.Just need that bit of summer sun now. Thanks man 🧑🏽🦲
As a fairly new head-shaver, I can attest that this method is AMAZING!! Before trying conditioner, my head always felt raw and sore for a day or so after shaving, and I usually gave myself at least one cut in the process. Conditioner worked like a dream. Close shave, no cuts, and my skin feels great. Thank you SO much for sharing this technique, Greg!
Great tips, just started my razor shave adventure.
Don't have other experience to compare to but really happy with the all process and result.
Many thanks!
My partner and I had so much fun watching this together! I just got a pixi and he's shaving his head instead of super short buzz. This was great! Thank you from Colorado!
Excellent video, Greg... thanks for the tips ! ! !
I've been shaving for a year ... this man said conditioner... Blew my mind. I went the old school route... Started shaving only with the grain with shaving cream because I felt like I was trying to scalp myself. Took 6 months to go get against the grain... Would have *SHAVED* that time down had I watched this man
You really are a master of shaving
But what is amazing is how you shaved your head as if you were combing your head smoothly. My brother watched the video with me because he was also shaving his head with the razor because one day I shaved his head with a straight razor, but the problem was that he hurt and blood came out of his head 😁😁It was an experience Bad for him
Thank you so much Greg Boswell! This way is way better for me. No more burn 🔥 when I shave.
Buzzed my hair a few times, today used a razor for the first time, loving it!!
As a 22 year old guy, able to grow a full head of hair, i chose to shave it, and i found your videos really helpful for stepping into that direction. I love how it looks and feels and its more practical and overall easygoing. And to anyone that's thinking about it, go for it, you'll be surprised 😃
Cheers!
Do you still do it?
I’m 20 and I’ve been doing it for a month. And it feels and looks amazing.
@@jaffaraltamimi9206 Hey! Yes I do, cause just like you said, it feels and looks good so why stopping 😄 Hopefully you are enjoying it! Have a good one!

I used to do the same, and now im going bald. Grow out that hair, you got plenty of time to be bald later XD
Wow, that looked so easy! I didn't think to use conditioner but I'm definitely going to pick up a bottle next time I go shopping!
Great advice man. Thank you! Shaved my head for the first time yesterday and let's just say, I wish I saw this beforehand! Many thanks for your advice (from the UK)
Finally buzzed the head after acknowledging the receding / thinning , looks so much more simpler with conditioner ! Can’t wait to shave it ,Thank you
finally took the plunge after a few years of thinning. Thanks for the tips and advice I feel great!

Great video, very thorough and definitely worth the watch. I’d never have thought about using conditioner as a substitute to shaving cream. Top tips and many thanks
Recently beat cancer, but my hair receeded from the chemo and stress of the 3 year battle. Luckily I got constant compliments for having a head that looks great bald apparently. This video will help me look better than I ever have before. Plus I get to keep my beard 🫀
It’s a look I wouldn’t trade
Hi Greg! Greetings from Argentina. Great videos and great tips. I started shaving a week ago. I had a lot of trouble with the back of my head, I got some pretty bad razor burns and cuts. I had to ask somebody else to finish it. When I took a shower it really burned.
I also had touble with the hair behind the ears. But now I watch your videos.
I am going to try the conditioner and follow your instructions. I'll let you know how it went.
Have a great time and thanks!
I even bought the same conditioner, smells amazing, works like wonder, life changing.
Appreciate the tutorial. I'm still maintaining a comb-over for the moment but this is a step I know I've gotta take eventually.
Free yourself, brother
Bald and honest trumps comb-over
I’ll have to try the conditioner method. I’ve had great results with old school all natural shave soap and brush. Always best after a nice hot shower and no shirt to get down below the shirt line on the back of the neck.
It doesn't really make a difference. It's just not as messy as shaving cream.
Thanks Greg for the nice video, i have a thining hair problem and i was thinking of start shaving my head and i learned the conditioner trick from you, btw nice bathroom too. Take care & stay safe.
Great tip about the conditioner, I just tried it now, and it works nicely! Thank you, that will save me a bit of money, too!
Thanks for the great advice Greg. I've been shaving my head for 40 years now, I'm now 67, and I've always used shaving creams and a badger brush, but my last couple of shaves, I've just used conditioner, as you have advised. The closest shave that I've had. Cheers buddy 👍
Great video.. I will start practicing, hope I can get it right. from Tokyo, Japan
Great tip Greg I have been shaving my head for 15 years with nivea sensitive shave gel and sensitive after shave balm as a pre shave lotion. Today I used the ogx argan oil conditioner and it came out great. I did still use the Gillette power pro glide shield I really like that razor and the shield blades. Maybe the power doesn’t do anything but I feel it makes it glide better. Thanks again for the tip.
Greg!
I left my electric razor at the hotel and decided to go back to a shaving razor for a closer cut. I had the Harry's razor in hand but the company stated it recommends only for the face. I find your video and you are using a Harry's razor! Great video!!! I will be going back to the store today and trying your techniques out. Thanks!
I just did my first complete shaving (always trimmed to the max my hair) but I looked up tips and adviced, found yours, followed it to the letter. Perfection, thank you so much Greg, it worked like a charm and it wasn't scarry at all. Thank you again, you got yourself a new subscriber!
Thanks man, I’m glad it went well!
Hi Greg, I’m so glad that I found your video.
I’ve been trying to get rid of razor burn & bumps for years, using one blade, two blade, 5 blades, a double edge safety razor, along with different shaving foams, gels and soaps with not much success.
You’re the first person I’ve come across that recommended using conditioner. I ordered the one you’re using and the difference is night and day! My neck hasn’t looked this great in years. Less irritation, bumps and burns. This’ll also serve for when I shave my head in a few years. It doesn’t seem as daunting anymore!
Thanks again, I’ll continue using conditioner from now on and I wish you and your wife all the best.
This is great to hear
Thanks brother. You safe my ears...
Tried this out for the first time today. Head is smooth as eggs. Short, simple, and clean. Appreciate it.
Hey! Y'all know all those crazy stories about how people watch one video and then do something crazy? Yep, this was that video! Thanks Gregg.
It came out pretty well. It was a struggle though. My head was tired just from multiple passes with a trimmer. My first go with a gillette and dove(because it's 10000% moisturizer) didn't go. I had to wash my head and use the trimmer to get even shorter. Then I figured shaving your head maybe wasn't so easy. I watched this video and my next attempt(using Free & Clear conditioner) went much better. I didn't get all the hair off. I still have a little stubble. I'm somewhere between your first and second pass even though I did two passes. But I listened to my new dome. It said it was tired. I'm glad I did. Later that day my head hurt a little. Just when it was touched, and only in a few spots. No bumps.
TBH, a lot of people told me things like I had enough hair for x,y,z. But after taking a lot of selfies of my head, something you should do if you're still reading, I decided I was not just a man in denial, but a man who is beginning to look like he's in denial. This look goes on for decades in my family, who are all in shock right now having heard the news. "ALL, did you say?"
I stepped down several times to get a real good look at what I could do if I kept it real short. Looked terrible. I never knew what to do to my hair, though I always wanted long headbanger or medival lord hair that never worked out. More denial. After everything my head went though day before yesterday, I have to say I look more normal and planned than any haircut since I was in high school. I'm actually hoping the change helps me remember myself. As we have all been tested by the 'rona. As Steven King has said "remember the face of your father." It's odd how I thought the bald head might help me remember the buddhists in their calm, but instead is more like the... Objective and subjective masculinity one feels when the beard gains it's own personality. Idk yet, but it feels like 10 minutes twice a week is going to be a meditation on the intent of self.
Your choice of script, or free form, is excellent. It's clear you've thought a lot about this topic, and I think we all appreciate the input during what is kind of a scary time.
I'm going to go watch the how not to get razor burn, I'm pretty sure that was yours.
I have to leave some feedback on my experience after watching this video, I have been shaving for about 12 years now and I had used shaving creams and gels. After trying couple of shaves with conditioner (I use the same as in the video) and I must say, what a difference in my results and feels comfortable afterwards, not dry as before and I think I will be saving some cash as well. Thanks for changing the way I shave 👍🏻
Excellent video Greg! I've been using conditioner since I've first viewed it and it really is amazing!
Thanks for keeping it straight forward and real man. Conditioner and doing one with the grain and then against it is probably what I was missing.
Y'all know those ASMR videos? The sound of his razor gliding over the dome is strangely calming. Wtf...
because this is real asmr. the thing you were talking about is forced asmr
I've never really wanted to go below 3mm hair, but watching this video actually made me consider a shave. If I do, the first time will probably be with a OneBlade because to be honest I'm really scared of cutting myself. Really glad I found your channel!
use gilette proglide and its impossible to cutt urself , then egt an razor pit to sharp the blades then every blade lasts around 8 shaves
The OneBlade is stunning! I hadn't heard of that before. Sometimes more blades can prevent the hairs from standing up for a proper cut so I can see the benefit with a single edge.
Okay, I went ahead and tried this method with a Dorco 6-blade cartridge and it went very well, better than I expected. That OneBlade looks freaking awesome but now I can say from experience you do not need one.
I know this video is old, but it was the only one that help me to shave my head for the first time and without getting any irritation or any wound... Thank you very much Sir.
You have shaved better than any barber out there. Thank you very much
I have been shaving my head for 20+ years. Learned to use conditioner about 10 years ago, never looked back. Also, about 2 years ago switched to Defender razors. My hair is very thick and these cut very well, rinse very easy, and never clog. Great video!
Thank you
The Defender has provided the closest shave out of all the razors I’ve tried. They do seem to last a shave or two less than the other brands. It’s a trade off I’ll take considering how close the shave is!
Name of the conditioner?
Guys want their head shining like a light. “It looks WEIRD!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Perfect shave Greg !
I used to shave my head for the first time when I was 16 and at that time I had super thick hair and I realize that It's harder to do shave on the head when your hair is thick ! after that I shaved my head many times untill today but mostly I wear hair , in these years I tried electric shaver too and I get a perfect smooth result , but it's gonna take my time at least 30 minutes to get a good result !
The conditioner trick really helped me I appreciate it 🙏🏼
Just started shaving my head within the past month, and just shaved it this morning. I also do it twice a week. I really wish I found your video yesterday, because I've been using shaving gel and used it this morning. I really cannot wait to try with conditioner next time, that might be what helps with the irritation and problem areas. Thank you for a great video.
Did using conditioner make a difference?
@@arshreetsingh3828 Huge difference. If you try nothing else, stick with conditioner. Since my initial comment here 5 months ago I have become a Beardbrand customer. I use their Utility Balm as a shaving lubricant and post shave, the stuff is amazing. It's also my daily beard/mustache/skin moisturizer. It's pricy but you get more than you pay for, in a few different ways.
@@arshreetsingh3828 No. It's just not as messy as shaving cream.
For people starting out with blade shaving this is a good tutorial. I've been shaving my head 25 years. I shave in the shower under hot water. Don't need anything but a good blade and the water. After, I use a vitamin C moisturizer. I don't get nicks, bumps, or irritation.
You sound like my dad! LOL I've always had issues with finding a good shave cream, and razors that don't get jacked after one or two uses. He would just chuckle and say he was good with one for a month and some hot water (shaving his face before he quit doing that).
I'm glad I watched your video first! I have been buzzing my head for years, but my bald spots are really starting to bother me, so I've decided that I need to start shaving my head. I can get everything you used at Target. I'll be using your method to go bald! Thanks for the great video.
Used this method twice now. Awesome results. Many thanks :)
I felt tense when he missed spot and relief when he finally got it later :D Great video! Thank you
I would have felt the same way if I was anyone else. 😁
I've been shaving my head for about 18 years now. I do it it basically 3-5 minutes. Just a good shaving cream and a good razor. Not that hard.
The part that I love is that I used to be so picky about my hair took a long time trying to make it right and it was thinning. Then it hit the point where you could see the balding so I went F**k it and buzzcut it and then the day after just shaved it clean. Haven't looked back since and no more taking time to fix the hair or go to a barber. Literally just 3-5 minutes with a razor and I'm done.
I would shave it even if I had hair, because how simple it is.
I've been just buzzing it for a year now. About to finally hit it with a razor to honor my grandma i lost to cancer (today is her birthday) so back here again. Thanks again, in advance. Not only a great tutorial, but a great motivator cuz i wanna look as good as you lol
First time shaving my head and this works just as he says, thanks!
