Is the Jeep Trackhawk Still the BEST Performance SUV for the Money? Consider this!!

- I give you my thoughts on why I feel that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is still the best performance SUV for the money. I also give you some mind-numbing statistics about just how capable the Trackhawk is compared to many other performance icons. How do you think the Trackhawk stacks up against the other SUV's out there?

The Trackhawk is a perfect balance of everything one needs in a vehicle
I agree but since they so much more expensive I don’t think it’s worth it anymore
@@823cup9 I used to think the same until I started driving one!
I love SUV's.... will never have a car again!
@jonnysrevenge I would never take my $100k vehicle off roading wether it did or didnt ,so i stand by my original comment, and most people i would think feel the same.
As a proud owner of 2021 Trackhawk, I can honestly say that its the best car i ever bought,I think trackhawk is the best option to enjoy the hellcat motor on street and the best part it has a sleeper look, not many people know about it so its performance surprises a lot of people.
As another proud owner of a 21 Trackhawk, I could not agree any more. I don’t even touch my raptor or my 5.0 nowadays
@@joemomma707 haha and I don't touch my 392 Challenger after I got the trackhawk, thinking of upgrading my challenger to a hellcat now and of course keeping the trackhawk!
@@faisalamirw
sick!!!! You know exactly how it is!!! I’m gonna just sell my 2019 5.0 pp1. I just don’t like driving sedans or coupes. Once you are used to driving the hawk, you don’t want a smaller vehicle. My 2019 Raptor is sick for long trips since I have the bed setup for off roading: 2 extra spares, pro eagle big wheel 2 ton jack, max trax boards, shovel, c02 powertank. Shit is ready for all emergencies. But it’s sluggish as fuck!!!!!! Especially after adding all that weight. I’m waiting for the Raptor R. But that might be unattainable. Markups are over 100k.
U really think you will drive the hellcat challenger if you get one? I think the Trackhawk is much more fun. And from a dig, it’s a monster!!! Either way, hope you happy with your choice!! If you get the challenger hellcat, u light as well get the one with the most hp. Is that the red eye?
I had a 2018 that stickered for $98,315 also a 2019 that stickered for $101,365.. absolutely loved em both! I owned a liquor store and hauled 40+ cases of liquor in the back with the seats down all the time! Best vehicle I’ve ever owned… great video X!
Haha that’s awesome
so did you trade in the 2018 for a 2019? arent they like exactly the same lol
@@JackLister sold the 2018 in the fall of 2018… In the spring I just loved em so much I ordered another!
@@JackLister also the 2018 does not have the supercharger chiller. And the 2019 does not have any chrome on the dash which is much nicer.
@@DefinitelyNotYouThankGod ahh i didnt even know the trackhawks had the chiller thats dope. Im thinking about trading in my 2021 scat widebody and 2018 grand cherokee trailhawk for a track hawk since its the best of both worlds. How is the track hawk on the highway? does it still pull hard?
Just got out of a 3 year relationship , this is exactly what I needed ! Great video racerx allways puts me in a good mood with your vids
Great video and very informative. I saw that white Trackhawk at Hopper Motorplex when I went there to have them install the Eibach lowering springs on my Trackhawk. They do excellent work in their service department and quick turnaround too. Anyway, love the video. Keep 'em coming! Thanks!
Awesome coverage on the Trackhawk Racer X! I told my boss about this a year or two ago. He was intrigued by it. At that time, though, they were hard to find.
Awesome content buddy 👍🔥
The trackhawk looks better on the outside but love the Durango inside
The interior is what made me order a Durango Hellcat over the Trackhawk
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
Like you said... "A joy to own". I was lucky to get a 2019 with 12k miles on it a few months ago, I cant imagine wanting another vehicle ever again!
Great video. I love my Trackhawk and it's my daily driver. Kind of inconspicuous when just driving around....until you step on the gas.......then it takes off like a rocket! It's great to have that Supercharged power in reserve and at the ready!
I had my 18 Trackhawk for two years. Great vehicle, does everything well, minus some interior and body panel issues. I traded up to a 21 durango hellcat a few months ago.
For some reason the trackhawk didn't get me to pull the trigger but soon ad I heard dodge announce the hellcat durango I was calling dealers lol
Bro which is better? The hawk or HellRango?
@@devonb6400 they're basically the same thing same platform power training and the durango is a elongated version of the jeeps
I hellrango has 50/50 weight distribution, but honestly they handle the same to me, they're boats lol
But for me, the trackhawk vs a srt jeep just wasn't different enough.
With hellcat durango it being one year and with suddle difference that if you know you know, besides I get asked like all the time "wait dodge made a hellcat durango" and I'm lime yea a bit over 2k of them
@@leopapio683 want the hawk but if it’s not a big enough difference besides the power I could settle for a SRT.. Ford coming out with a Raptor R so that was on my radar too..
@@devonb6400 All around the durango. Better seating capacity, cargo capacity, and way better interior. I do miss the quad tip exhaust and fender flares of the Trackhawk. Performance is essentially the same. The fastest 0-60 I got in the Trackhawk is 3.4. The fastest in the Durango is 3.3.
Good video! You should get one a drad race it like you do.
I would say the Durango Hellcat is underrated imo. That thing is a beast and sounds like one with 3 rows.
Love my Hellcat Durango! Other than fuel economy its an awesome daily driver.
Great video! Never knew A track hawk was that fast. Crazy it’s faster than a stock viper, 458 and GT500. That’s insane
A lot of people don’t know. I own a 21 Trackhawk. All sorts of Teslas think they gonna beat my off the line. But they learn real quick. Of course, I’m not touching the plaids or the performance models. But still.
@@joemomma707 sheesh!!
I’m going to get me one here soon
Anyone else hate how unaggressive the new grand cherokee is? I love the wk2 n it seems they’re going the luxury route.
I’m not the biggest fan of them either
I agree but I’m holding out judgement until they release the WL SRT equivalent.
If the lord is willing, one day.
I grew up in the early 80s where Z28s had 175 hp and my 1974 Javelin had 150 hp. That was “decent.” Nowadays, my Challenger RT is considered underpowered at 375 hp. Unbelievable!
I had an '18 Trackhawk and I have to say that I really liked it. It's very comfortable to drive, has a pretty nice sound system, is quite fast, doesn't get great MPG, and is practical for pretty much anything you want to do while having fun doing it. I only got rid of mine because I now live in a small town and now do maybe 3000 miles a year, if that, so I decided to keep my '21 GT500 instead. No point in having two high car payments when I barely drive.
There is always a point. I’m not getting rid of my trackhawk for nothing!!!
@@joemomma707 I don’t blame you! But it was sitting in my driveway for weeks between drives. Hey, at least I can say my GT500 is my daily driver.
I see one of these In my future
RACER-X as usual you have done a awesome job but from what I've seen the hell cat Durango is faster in the 0-60 and it seats 6-7 people so I personally if I could afford one due to the dealership mark ups I would get the Durango first choice than second choice track hawk have awesome day and as always be safe 👍
That thing is bad ass! I just ordered my Tesla Y which is pretty fast but not that fast, but I still have my hellcat😀
I dont care how fast a Tesla is it sounds like a damn golf cart, nothing beats the beautiful sound of these hemi engines
I do run into Trackhawks in DFW but I’ve yet to run into another Durango Hellcat. I loved my 2018 GC SRT but my DH is on another level
Rare sight to see a Durango Hellcat on the road for sure. All of the reviewers say the same thing regarding the nicer ride as well. TrackHawk is badass but the DDHC is my pick.
Dope vid !! Can you do a video on the 6.4 jeep srt ???
I wouldn't mind having one
Funny how popular these have become. I remember a local dealer having several sitting on the lot a few years ago they couldn't give the away even with offering $10K off sticker. Now they sell for more with 50K miles lol
That thing is a beast, if it wasn’t for the insane car market I probably would’ve TRIED getting into one. But since I was able to get my 5.0 from a private seller for 8k below market I definitely won’t be looking to move on anytime soon
Racer X you know your heart is with Mopar 🤣
And btw IMO for the cost FCA completely failed on this vehicle. Hear me out. The Trackhawk doesn’t look any different than a trailhawk or limited no SRT hood no SRT steering wheel nothing that separates (other than the motor)this prestigious purchase from a the lesser models. Thus the reason the Durango is such a smash because it has all the features the hawk is missing.
That's y I wasn't excited enough to buy one. The first gen srt8 jeep was done right not this one. I got the hellcat charger widebody it looks the part. Sleepers are cool but I like aggressive looks to go with my power.
Although I love the Durango hellcat, I like the Jeep trackhawk because it's a sleeper. It looks like any other old grand Cherokee unless you see the badging
@@markwilliams6378 the durango hellcat has the same problem.
@@717Chris The trackhawk more so
The Durango Hellcat has the absolute exact same body as a 5.7 Tow and Go model Durango except it’s missing fog lights. Jeep actually does a way better job of differentiating the Trackhawk from lesser models than the Durango does.
Even the 5.7 and 6.4 Hemis are quick in these vehicle due to their being 4 wheel drives.
Not too shabby
I got to drive the Durango Hellcat last year for a day. Very impressed overall. More Hellcats would benefit from AWD, in my humble opinion… how was / was there any drone?
The Durango has a noticeable resonance while cruising around town.
How was the in-cabin drone
Heyy do you think it’s still possible to get one somewhere these days!? Or are they rare!?
Definitely hard to find but they're out there. Just be prepared to pay a premium, even used ones w/ 40-60k miles are still being listed for $80k
Those Wrangler 392's are a thing of beauty.
Pre pandemic/chip shortage it was a no brainier as the bang for buck super high performance SUV. They were going for at or below sticker all day. Now that used ones are going for well above new MSRP it’s a hard pass.
Is that 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk?
Had mine since 2018 when everybody was saying I’m not paying. $100k for a jeep😂 love it.
Yes a trackhawk is DEF the best sub u can buy for the money.. but if money wasnt in the picture, id def go RS Q8
I'm currently renting a track hawk.
😎✌️
I definitely like the sun ruff too
Redeye Trackhawk sound crazy!
It's cool But. How the h. Can you not get a lot of tickets???? Yes. I got a right foot problem lol. That thing is sick
If you can’t afford one get an Srt8 🔥💯
To be honest it's not comfortable as you said ... I love everything about trackhawk except the comfort ( the seats like a rock behind you back)
How is it upgradable as compared to X5M?
Great breakdown here…. The only reason the tesla plaid gets brought into the mix is it’s performance numbers and with 1000+ HP it really should outperform this so hopefully no one is surprised by that.
Is this faster and better than the stelvio quad
Stock Hellcats are advertised at 11.60. But we all know they can go 10.80 stock with a tire. How have you been racer X?
That’s a fact, with the trackhawk it runs near it’s peak performance out of the box but the hellcat cars have a lot of untapped potential until you get sticky tires under them. 🍻
I wish it came with a demon hood from the factory 😩🤦🏾♂️🎯💯
How does it corner?
Really good actually (it’s never going to carve like a lightweight sports car but it’s pretty impressive.). Check out the “ Lightning Lap” results for the TrackHawk, a quick google search should get you the lap-times and video.
A better comparison but I’ve been to it to the Durango hellcat
Like the Track Hawk. Heard they won’t be producing them anymore, that’s a shame. 😂
Elon sold me on performance 🥷
Different strokes for different folks. I don't think I could ever fully enjoy a silent car, I love the sound of a v8
Get a track hawk for 85 k spend 30 k on mods and the model x will get smashed
90k for a jeep suv? lol way more better options for that price but cool suv though.
Really sad they only made this for 3 years. Hard to watch this video knowing it's discontinued.
Excellent SUV I like the design but it's not the fastest, the Aston Martin DBX707and the Bentley Bentayga are faster
Love that. Jeep trackhack
Ehh. For the money, It’s cool for straight lines but for anyone that likes to do more than digs and rolls, it lacks severely. In the Hawk’s defense, most people that get aren’t looking for handling and consistent brake performance. Can’t turn, brakes are shit compared to any of its competitors in its performance range, suspension way too soft and extremely high. Just lack luster once you get past the immense launching capability. But once you point out the short comings, you’re a hater so I’ll leave it at this I guess.
what would you take over the trackhawk ?
@@armanjan848 depends on if moneys an object or not. Or if $100k is my budget’s absolute limit. Because if I have a $100-$150k to spend on a car, a Trackhawk not even in my top 10 fr. Unless it’s strictly SUVs
@@AYO_KO would love to know your list out or curiosity...I'm I'm that 100- 150,000 range and looking. Mind sharing?
@@AYO_KO yaa i understand. thats why i just wanted to know your preference in terms of fast and practical SUVs because trackhawk is for sure in my top 5

I’ll take the hellcat Durango over it
I did. I looked at ordering a Trackhawk but opted for the Durango Hellcat because of the nicer interior ( unconnect 5, 2nd row Captains chairs and forged carbon accents)
Somehow you forgot about the BMW X6M, just as fast or faster with no dealer markups or mopar hype. Similar price point on the used car market check out a 21 bmw X6M vs 21 trackhawk
It’s pretty easy to compare electric apples to internal combustion oranges. Electric apples are quicker.
but they’re gay af
Wagoneers start @ 90k
Bru why didn’t they update the fucking body
They don't even make these anymore. They're aging high performance supercharged vehicles. Most of them are getting miled out. They will be a thing of the past shortly.
Wit out da ZUPER CHARGER ITZ NOT ZHIT .
Tesla aint no suv
Why does anyone need that much HP, or speed on our highways???
Only going to cause more accidents & deaths. You can go as fast as you want, but better be able to stop in time, to avoid a accident!!!
These stop better than the average car on the road so I don’t think anyone is in any danger.
This thing is a joke quality wise compared to any of the top European SUVs. Way overpriced
If you take the speed limiter off the trackhawk and add great suspension and lower it 2” itll easily out run a hellcat
The trackhawk will run all day with a full tank of gas and all those stupid electric cars barely last a day
