It’s time for a USA vs Germany head-to-head!
We’ve got the mighty Audi RSQ8 lining up alongside one of the most powerful American SUVs around, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and they’re going to see which has what it takes to win a 1/4-mile drag race!
So how do these two compare? Starting with the Trackhawk, peer under the bonnet and you’ll find a mighty 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that can put down 710hp & 880Nm of torque! It’s pretty heavy though, weighing in at over 2,400kg!
Then we have Germany’s contender, the RSQ8. It rolls up packing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 which can put down 600hp & 800Nm. So it’s down on power, but it’s also down on weight, tipping the scales at just over 2,300kg!

I thought that the jeep was great until the break test. Imagine it in an almost-accident-emergency-braking scenario. It is precariously heavy also.
man oh man.. this really shows the American not so brake performance. no wonder you have a lot of collisions in the USA, brakes are underperformed.
Same with the Tesla model s plaid. Incredible speed but brakes like a bicycle. Very responsible 👍🏼

Go for it. You will spend $100k of butt ugly Jeep Grand Cherokee, and stop 🛑 the distance the same as a tractor 🚜 Trailer semi truck 🚛. And it’s also the worst handling “performance suv 🚙 💨 🔥 also it doesn’t even have an infotainment system. It’s also got the worst driving assistance features like lane departure and park assist

They're fun in straight lines but they don't handle anywhere near their price tag, plus their interiors aren't that good. Get a GLC63 S for a little more and it will gap this in just about every area including badge.

You don't need to use the launch control with the Jeep, it launches decent enough just by stamping on the gas. Some say it's even better. I don't use launch control in my SRT and it pulls away like mad.

First of I love both SUV’s! My only comment is that more you heat up the turbo car better it will spool, the Supercharger will eventually suffer of too much heat..

I used to work at a Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge dealership a couple of years ago transporting vehicles. After watching this race either the jeep has high mileage or non-Brembo breaks because that braking distance is unacceptable.

They do give the best times out of the 3 races! That’s why you sometimes see a car miles behind when it launches bad but only a few tenths slower on the clock in the final race.

I agree! At the last race of the Trackhawk, the driver obviously messed up the launch and did a time of 12.2. But in reality, based on this drag race, it could have gotten the same time as the Urus and X4 M from the previous race!
@@GazRsExtremeBrickMachines that is not true, go back and watch the older Trackhawk drag race with the Urus, Tesla, Porsche and BMW. You will see that in the last race, the driver messed up the Jeep's launch and came last with a time of 12.2. As per this drag race, it could have done 11.8, which was the same time as the Urus and X4 M.

Man something is wrong with the Trackhawks brakes in this video. In other tests on the channel with it the braking was fine, but this was not even stopping.
he used the brake launch control back to back you can't do that on any car that has brake peddle launch control the brakes heat up just like any other car and stop working as good the average person isn't going to launch 20 times back to back to cause them to go near failure. My Trackhawk stops on a dime, but if i do back to back runs at the drag strip using launch control it does get like this after the 5-6th back to back run

RSQ8 can do a 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds, so technically it would of won if the driver launched it better.
It really just comes down to whoever reacts first. It’s a drivers race with these two. A tenth of a second is nothing

I had 2005 pontiac GTO with ls2 corvette engine and 400hp ,terrible brakes ,now i have 2011 Cadillac cts V 556 hp,again brakes were not that good for the power! It is a problem with American muscle cars i think!But still love them both!

Its pretty obvious the brakes are worn. Car and Driver tested both of these cars' braking 70-0: Trackhawk was 168ft, RSQ8 was 158ft.
Car is heavier and rear brakes didnt change from SRT model.
