I watch a lot of sailing and boat building vids. I like your channel particularly because of your honesty and the visible joy you have sailing and visiting remote parts of the world. What I really like is the way you introduce us the local people you come across in your travels. Other boat traveling channels often don't even show or talk about the people they must deal with on their way,, or people they hire to help work on their boats...you do....because you really enjoy them, because it's fun meeting the families, eating their food...or weird food on the street. You make it fun and infinitely more interesting for me as a video watcher
I was in Indonesia earlier this year. I didn't come by boat for that trip. The process was relatively easy at the airport. I was amazed by the people and the peace of the country. Jakarta traffic is insane, quiet, and calm. It can be very congested and stopped at times. I heard no horns and saw no angry gestures or anger in the people. All religions live in peace together even though it is the highest Muslim population in the world. Maybe the presence of the sea brings peace to the people. I will return.
Really good video on how to check in trouble free... I am sure you being so well prepared was the key. And of course, you two are quite charming... That was a quick trip...
This is really amazing. So thorough and useful. I've been on boats that have cleared in and out. So this info is really really helpful. My takeaway is, even if I might never sail into Indonesia, it's good to have multiple copies of all these documents.
If you can, talk to Yosh and Bonita from Sailing Nandji - Frothlyfe, they spent a year or two in Indonesia, and checked in and out a few times. They may have good information, they even spent 2020 there and their daughter was born there. Love your interaction with the locals, makes it more interesting.
Hey Holly I was just wondering if there was any vids of your trip from Townsville to Darwin, a huge chunk of some of the best Australia has to offer, or is it coming up and I have jumped the gun hopefully, thanks to you and the team for Geckos 🦎 adventures
I’m totally worn out just watching what you had to go through. I won’t be sailing there anytime soon or any location for that matter. I’ve had three sailboats here in Hawaii. Last boat I owned. I had to buy $1 million insurance policy just park in the harbor. and they test you to see how well you can motor in and out of the harbor I was motoring out to do my Marker run and I rescued another boat off the rocks when I got back to the Masters office they said I passed with flying colors I drop them off at their slip and motored back to mine thank you so much for your show. You’re doing things that I couldn’t even think about doing. I guess I live vicariously through UA-cam now that I’m in my senior years. I haven’t left the Hawaiian islands since 1987
YOU never cease to amaze me, Holly! Good job done, you two! (wish we saw more of your karaoke nite - would love to have seen you sing Adele!). XO. Darcee
Indo is one of my fave places in the world, so many islands, diversity, the people are great, stunning nature ect ect. Never sailed it, maybe one day if I ever get my own boat. Sailed the Langkawi (Malaysia) - Phuket route a couple of times. Welcome & I hope u enjoy Asia...
Once again, thank you for sharing. I just love the excitement and enthusiasm in your voice. Wishing you and your friend a continues save n fun journey.
I live in Indonesia, so would like to add one small comment. I saw Dan in shorts going to the government offices. This is typically frowned upon, or actually not allowed in most government offices in Indo. You were lucky.
Howdy Ma'am🌺, Trust this note finds all well with you. Great information, very thorough too👍🏻. Yes indeed, life is about a lot of "to & fro-ing", isn't it🤔❓ So the sim with gigs was $5 and some change American$$ Holly? God Bless with prayers for health with safety, Hugs&Love All🙏🏻⛵🐬, Richard🚴🏻♂
You come to Philippines there's a lot foreigners that will help you . Foreigners been staying here for years . English is our second language . No problem with communications.
They were friendly and helpful because you sail in over the horizon like the smiling baby Teletubbies sun, and shine happy Holly love on them. If you had sauntered in on a big catamaran full of haughty English speaking entitlement and impatience they would have been grumpier and a LOT slower (and quite bloody right too!)
Delos used to print t0 copies of a bunch of things. They had become very good by the time they made it to India. Its good to look back at the check in ect stuff that they talk about years ago, (I think those videos are still there ?). HOPEFULLY THOSE BIG GUYS CAN SEE YOU AT NIGHT ! Singapore in Malaysia was an incredible experience for Delos ! The bigger cities have all the huge ships and at night they are looking at each other, the ships have bright lights and may not see you unless yours are bright ! There will be too much going on for them to work with AIS, they need to see you ! That Passport Stamp is the most important stamp of all. Right ? The harbor master surprised me, what is he going to do with that paperwork ? Imagine all the cabinets all those people have for all of that. This is the first Check in and out video I'm putting in my new Sailing Check In and Out Playlist. Yes, lots of sailing playlists at my channel ! I cover everything !
Wilderness of Waves just ranted on how bad sailing in Indonesia is.. and has had the most miserable experience… Add this to it, and I have zero desire to go… Not that I had much more than zero before.. 🤷♂️
I'll contest the idea that it's easy. I guess the initial process is, but having to stamp out your entire trip at each harbor seems needlessly complicated and restrictive. Same for having to tell them the last harbor… are they following everyone to make sure people don't leave the country ? That sounds like a very unenforceable requirement. This isn't the only country in which checking in/checking out and just the general administration for boating is a little bit ridiculous…
Yes Ms Holly I enjoy your educational vids as much as your hard-core sailing vids... Notwithstanding, yet another reason why I'm not sailing to the Pacific (even if I could...!)... How do they know your AIS is working...? Fair Winds...
fantastic vid - everyone likes to see the daily fun bits, but this is legitimately helpful. i wish more cruisers would do this kinda thing instead of (...ok, in addition to...) bikini click-farming. bookmarked.

Yeah she's the wind hippie. Young and idealistic and still open. Time has a funny way of closing people down.
You always know how to make good content!
This content is amazing! I can't stop watching!
I thought I was the only one.
@@MrFrankobi She broke 100k subs. For a long time she was in the teens. I think word finally got out of the unique solo sailoress.
You are the only sailing channel that has made a video about the process. So thank you.❤

Interesting, but quite a complicated procedure. You have the patience of an angel and on top of it you make it look like fun. Good for you!
Happy Labor Day to you and Dan Captain!

Thank you Holly for this fantastic informative video😍🙌💖
Honestly, you fried my brain with those non stop instructions. How is it so complex and time consuming? I bet you slept well that night!
Holly is smarter than I am.
Thank you very much Holy and Dan.
How fun that you made a friend!
Don't know if this will ever come in handy for me, but very entertaining
Complex but not too painful. Now to explore a new country.

Might be a good idea to include a cheap printer as part of the boats electronics 😊
Great video. 🤗💖⛵🐬🏖️🐕
Thanks for the great content. Maybe I should send link to our border patrol boss folks so they know what enforcement looks like.

Not gonna lie.... checking into Indo looks like a total ballache!
How do you plan to stay for 1.5 yrs on an extendable 30 day visa?
Wilderness of Waves just ranted on how bad sailing in Indonesia is.. and has had the most miserable experience… Add this to it, and I have zero desire to go… Not that I had much more than zero before.. 🤷♂️

Not officially anyway.

How much did this save compared to an agent?
Do meds include things like aspirin and Tylenol or prescription only?
"Holly sings Adele" over on Patreon?

Agents in Indonesia are illegal according to Indonesian legislation… do not use them. Especially, Dewi in Lombok.
This is far too complicated to make world cruising worth it
Yeah, won't be goin' to Indonesia.
We we we we we....😂
Government Garbage.
So glad I didn't buy a boat.

How much does it cost to do with an agent?
